- Here's a VRC6 chiptune arrangement of Amalgam from Undertale.
You may have already heard a version of this arrangement in SiIvaGunner's King for Another Day collab. This one is mostly the same with some changes here and there. Anyway, I was hoping to return with another arrangement that I've been working on for a while, but it's taking longer than anything I've made before lol. I'm hoping to finish it by the end of next week though!*
*i deeply apologize for thinking i could get Battle!! Torna done by the "end of next week" when I still had half of the arrangement left to do. I was a fool.
Also I can't believe the channel has reached 50k subs! It's crazy. Idk what else to say lol. Thank you all so much.

This song is made of samples from earthbound that are samples from other songs. It’s name is extremely accurate to what it’s about.

i mean.. 2a03 has 3 tonal channels, and vrc6 has 3, so technically you do have enough fingers. but that isn't to say you WOULDN'T need to be an amalgamate, because given how fast this song goes, that'd still definitely be necessary

I was a little disappointed that the live orchestra arrangement of this didn't try to mimic all of these crazy pitch bends, as hard as that might have been.
I was just sad they didn't have another medium

@@hibacilacle2609 They actually acknowledge this after you spare endogeny in the game, and that those black/white reversals are the dogs that were amalgamated to form it

The ironic thing about the amalgam being made of determination, is that you fight the amalgam as undeterminable beings.
Whatever that means.
Another neat thing: Battle Against a True Hero has a motif similar to Amalgam.

Fun Facts with Mother Brain:
This song, much like the entirety of Undertale, is clearly inspired by Earthbound. But a fact most people don't know is that this song is made entirely out of Earthbound samples, making it a literal amalgamation.
When you heard trick or treat outside your door you though we would want candy, but instead we asked for flakes instead.
Good thing you know how to deliver such requests.

The strangest fact about the Amalgam? Lemon Bread.
A reference to GUNSTAR HEROES's Melonbread which... then also got referenced in Cuphead with Mangosteen
Don’t forget Melon Bread making an appearance as a boss in Alien Soldier as well!

@@djminty5863 I couldn't confidently say there's bad and good remixes. Oftentimes some musicians have their own way of making their own unique sound and there's nothing wrong with that, while more beginner type musicians are still learning the ropes and jts unfair to them to call it "bad". Keep working on your craft and you'll eventually and naturally find a style that works best for your workflow and personality. If you ever want critique too, just DM me on Twitter! The Undertale 5th Anniversary Concert version of this song was so awesome because of how jazzy it was but this definitely fits the Earthboundy style very well, great work.

this is so great, sounds punchy and haunting at the same time. good use of dpcm too
i also like how at 1:22 when the song loops, the drums quickly return to pick up where it left off and a few other changes are made in the second loop. that is really cool

Never played Undertale, but wow, what a great theme. Toby Fox is a master at making music that gives you that "errrr, I really shouldn't be here, should I" feeling in the most chaotic and unsettling way. So immersive.

Okay, so Amalgamate is so god damn clever.
There are tons of samples here from EarthBound, that EB sampled!
The best example being THE PLACE instrument being sampled from the beginning of a song Dierde - The Beach Boys.
So its an amalgamate of UT, EB, real songs, and it meshes together to make an awesome track.
