As a kid, I was always disappointed that my Take Along Ned could swivel. Not only can the Capsule do just that, but the freaking bucket has hinges.
I never thought that an opening bucket was possible on merchandise this tiny. The employees at Tomy are true masters of their craft.
Congratulations on 60K subscribers. You deserve it after all of RUclips's nonsense this year. I love that Tomy put so much detail and quality into these tiny figures. And the finish is gorgeous. Very impressive collection.

This is the only merch line that feels like it is paying close enough attention to be able to know exactly what the fans want and deliver. The ingenuity and cleverness in the gimmicks like Owen's lift is one thing, but little by little, we are seeing old favourites return into relevance. We got Duck and Terence last year after a long absence, and this year we saw Boco and Fergus return. Paxton, Sidney, and Merrick were brand new items introduced this year too. Subtle improvements are also seeping in, such as the matte finish on the engines as of this month, gold whistles replacing the standard yellow ones, and James finally getting black wheels. This merch line is one of the best and so many people out there don't know about it. Maybe that will change thanks to this video!
I believe Capsule Plarail has benefitted from the regular Thomas and Friends show ending. No longer restrained or obligated to make their toys based on the current material in order to stay relevant, they are now free to make all kinds of series based on whatever themes they want, whether that be CGI episode-derived toys or based on a past movie. Capsule has always been very independent, but they've had to stick to a regiment that still required them to make themed sets that followed closely to the show, as any merch line would do. But now that the show has ended, I'm seeing a lot more creative freedom in their choices last year and this year. We got a series released themed entirely on Bill and Ben and the characters they pranked, which allowed Edward and Boco to come back. Now that guys like Nia and Rebecca don't have to appear every single time thanks to the restraints of BWBA being tossed out the door, we can get a bigger variety of characters and items to look forward to. These toys are full of surprises.
If only Mattel could've been the same with Wooden Railway 2.0. The rumored All Engines Go items (Carly, Kana, and Sandy) haven't released and I get the feeling that the whole thing has been discontinued. A shame, really. WR2022 had some banger items (my only experience with the range is Rosie, Edward, and Henry, and they're all fantastic) and I'd've loved to have seen what certain characters would've looked like had the line lasted longer.
Here's a pitch for what "Wave 4" (I'm counting the potential wave with Carly, Kana, Sandy, and McColl's Farm with Terence as Wave 3) might look like:

*Sodor Shipping Yard Set* (big ticket item for the year. Includes an exclusive Edward with a determined face and blushing cheeks, a flatbed, an exclusive brake van, a barrel loader, a water tower, a coal hopper, a generic crane, and a bridge)
Wave 4 could be out soon
These are definitely an example of how small fun size toys should be made. The minis were also in that category. I miss them.
I wonder if tug is aware of the Tomy Thomas diecasts. Those things are criminally underrated.

I grew up with Thomas, my younger sister watched Shining Time station on PBS every afternoon in the early 90's and she had a number of Thomas/Brio toys. My son has developed Thomas fever as well, and his older half-brother (after collecting loads of train toys for years) gave his entire Thomas collection to his younger bro. We got a single little wind-up Skarloey with all the other pieces and I never knew where he came from. Very cool, this Skarloey was a favorite of both boys.

The Capsule Plarail Collection is another example that bigger isn't always better. The smaller, cuter toys is really all a fan prefers to digest sometimes. It's one of the most nostalgic and quality made lines of TTTE merchandise. It's also kinda funny though how most of the road vehicles seem to be the best looking ones in my opinion... Byron, George, Trevor, Isabella & Ned are easily my favourites. As for the engines i'd give first prize to Diesel 10, Fergus, Harvey, Neville, Stephan & Theo, and no shocker Judy, Jerome & Toad are the best rolling stock. Any character that has accurate TV Series proportions and detail i give a gold star to. ⭐

Smaller usually works much better actually. It means the items might be cheaper, which definitely helps, but more importantly, you can save so much space while having more. That's why I went with smaller model cars when I started buying them for example.
I don’t have a lot of Capsule Plarail toys, but I gotta say they’re pretty cool. Especially with the wide abundance of character variants. It’s a shame they aren’t available outside Japan anymore.

When I first discovered Capsule Plarail I used to call it the Thomas chibi toys, I guess that means Thomas is an anime.
Fact: Originally, the playback blue mountain mystery series was meant to be the final series for the original Thomas and friends series for capsule plarail. However, that info has been removed. I don’t know if they decided against that or not.
Quick update on this: The blue mountain mystery playback series is the final classic Thomas series to be made. Honestly, I’m not gonna hate the all engines go line, In fact, I might pick up Percy and Bruno.

Man capsule plarail is so diverse with engines and what they make. I really want to get my hands on the capsule figures to go with my wooden railway engines but I wouldn't mind collecting some of the actual engines from the line myself. Although I realize you don't have Mighty Mac which is a shame because I think they look really cool when capsule plarail hopefully you get them one day. Keep up the good work Nic!

I gotta say, Unlucky Tug, your train collection videos are super great. I love every one of your models of the realistic locomotives and your T&F collection. And this video will help get parents to buy out the stock markets of every Thomas merchandise for their kids. Man, I could look forward into collecting a hoard of trains myself, but alas paying bills, utilities, and other stuff always gets in the way of everything to make myself prioritized. Aw well 🤷🏾♂️

It's always great when Tug uploads a new vid. Also I actually haven't heard of this collection set of toys, but they actually look neat on paper ngl. My favourite one as seen in the vid has got to be the Angry Henry capsule. His face looks like as if it was taken straight out of the show itself. Absolutely perfect.
Somebody could make a Thomas RUclips show with these, considering how there are many of the same character with different expressions. Wouldn't need as much effort, but it would need a setting made for it.
Another great tugs video. He always makes the best videos and I was not expecting this video to come. But I gotta admit you cant really dislike capsule playrail. Prior to watching this, I had very little familiarity with this line, but now I find it to be one of the most well-developed, most well-made toy lines for all of Thomas. And what a wonderful collection you've got. I also remember you making a little video showcasing some of your Tomy plarail capsule Thomas toys on a little layout on an office floor with a close-up of your Victor in the thumbnail, but unfortunately it's gone now with the old channel being terminated. I wonder if you or someone else has that saved somewhere, because sadly it's not on that archive drive you had linked on your Season 6 video.

10:22 den is seen with a face like this in the episode where we and dart are separated..the scene is where he biffs the trucks at the quarry too hard and they fall off the tracks. Dart is seen with that sad face in the same episode
I actually have the Capsule Plarail variant of Percy with the goggles he wore in his dream sequence in Calling All Engines!, which was a very middle of the road movie in my opinon.

The capsule plarail range of Thomas is in interesting and a cute range I really want to get the figures just to be in scale with my trackmaster models and probably some interesting ones, too such as Esther and the miniature railway engines also when I got a second Tomy Oliver for Christmas of last year he came along with a capsule plarail Percy from 2017 which is my first Capsule Plarail item overall that is a heck of a collection that you got.
