I worked on 757s from 1985 to 2010. They're very solidly built & will, with proper maintenance, last 50+ years easily. They're my favorite Boeing aircraft, easy to work on & really fun to taxi around the airport. Excellent steering & very responsive engines, at least the Pratt & Whitneys & I'm sure RR are also.
The amount of ground collisions these days is ridiculous

Was the unoccupied corporate jet parked properly? I would look at all aspects of the other aircraft. The campaign trail is about to get really busy and the loss of the signature aircraft might be the point.

The entire aircraft had to be worked on. The old engines were trash, so new RR Trent engines were installed. The complete renovations were several millions of dollars.
