It's the driver you can clearly tell that he drives these cars a bit differently to each other notbsure if some of them are auto and others are manual, but on the first one he is definitely driving a manual because he is over raving the car
It is because of the gear ratios. Gen 1 Aygo have the most ridiculous ratios for a small car. You CAN reach 60mph on 2nd gear. Whereas later generations have trim down the ratios to more sensible level. (When I was tough how to drive, I was told when the car is moving, you'll be fine with 2nd gear. Apparently that's not the case for Aygo. When Aygo is move, but it is too slow, it is better to slip into 1st gear instead because of the gear ratios.)
I bought my 2nd Gen Aygo two years ago (Facelift version) and for a "cheap end" car, i think it's awesome. Doesn't drink a lot of gas, highly manoeuvrable in town, easily parked, for cities and small distances, it's a nifty little thing. That being said, i'm pretty darn sure i can reach 100km/h in less than 16.5 seconds, but it all depends on how old the car is, and what's your driving style. When it was fairly new it didn't accelerate all that well, but after two years of "angry small car driving" it's pretty reactive, especially in the lower gears. I can even reach 150km/h on the highway, but i need a long distance and a lot of momentum 😂
i myself drove a toyota yaris(2005)(69ps) and all i can say, although I bought the car used at the time (used for 3 years), I rarely had any problems, it was just a great car.
Guess the first one has less weight than the others with same engine. I drive the 2014 version and love the car. Funny when the consumption goes to 20+ and even 40.
The acutally model have 53kw and 72hp in germany.. I love it becuase the new one have now a undercarriage was make fun. Thats what i missed in the model before.
I drive a Mk1 Aygo and you certainly have a point. Hit the limiter in 1st and you hit 2nd at around 3600rpm (max torque). It's almost like a 6 speed with 2nd removed. 63mph in second leaves many bigger cars surprised though.
