I looked at so many videos for this but yours is the first I found itemizing the parts with measurements all written out very clearly thank you so much think I’ll make two
This was such a great tutorial! I was looking to buy one, but then I figured it’d be easy to make. I loved how straight to the point this video is & I am so surprised you don’t have thousands of subscribers!! I’m sure you will keep growing, you deserve it, may God bless you 💕
How did they let you do that? I mean, you had to pay for everything before you could cut the pieces, right? And did anyone have trouble getting by in the aisle you were building this rack?
This might be a dumb question, but was the cutting tool there at Home Depot? Did you have to ask for it or was it just around? Thank you for this great video!
That’s actually a very good question! They have measuring tapes and that specific pvc pipe cutter right next to the pvc section, they should be towards the bottom or middle part of where the pipes are leaning on the shelf! Hope that helps, if not just ask the employees, it’s pretty common to have them for customer use! I also built a dog bed in the store 😂. My specific HD also has a hand saw station available, for small cuts of course.
Only a unasked question is dumb (that made no sense ) lol never be afraid of sounding dumb for being curious. I personally was wondering the same thing as I’m new to diy and all things Home Depot lol
I love questions! I know that sometimes we forget to mention things, so it’s important that people ask because there may be more than one person wondering the same thing! Plus I love it when I have a question and someone else already asked it and it’s been answered!😂
So you could probably put 2 T fittings about 16 inches from the bottom , to hang jeans or slacks . That would leave plenty of room for shirts t shirts , the only conflict would be if you plan to hang dresses from the top rung .
The bottom ring would be same length as top rung that piece and 2 T fittings , but you would have to cut the side vertical elements to install the T fittings . I love this design because it looks like something you would order have to wait 2 weeks for but in this video it's DIY instant .
@@DJNolove I don't know, I merely watched the video, and binge watched many others for inspiration, but I've never made my own DIY clothing rack as of yet. Some pipes have threads, some don't, some require glue, I'm definitely not an expert or experienced in this matter lol
Amazing! Can't wait to build my own. Do you think different measurements will work the same? If i want twice the width? I wonder if it will hold the weight. Thanks so much
Well I made one out of 25mm (1") pipe and glued it together but really its no good for long dresses as I made mine 1600mm (5'3) high and it bends over (and falls) with it loaded up. I need to reinforce it somehow....
Hi I'm wondering how sturdy this is? Would you say it is as sturdy or more sturdy than the cheap ones you can buy at say walmart or something like that? I"m looking to use this to make a portable hanging station for some artwork.
I’m pretty good at following directions but for some reason as soon as I hung up around 15 hangers of clothes, the whole thing just leaned over and fell. Any suggestions to make it stronger?
You can get a type of glue made for PVC pipes and use that at the joints to make them stronger. Also make sure you've pushed the PVC pipes in far enough.
I'm considering building this to help show clothes for a garage sale, but I have a ton of clothes. I think the PVC may be strong enough, but it is likely to tip due to the weight being top loaded. I'm trying to come up with a way to modify the base with extra weight like landscaping bricks, not so pretty, but I think it will work for my purposes.
Hey, thank you so much. I 'm about to save money. I have question though, what if you want a shelf for shoes on the bottom. Is there a way I could do that?
I’ll attach a link as a reference guide! You’ll just need to add an extra section using a T connection and legs!😁 I hope this helps! www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07F6Y8BHR/ref=sspa_mw_detail_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1
@@deboratemesgen9274 Hey Debbie, I just built something similar with a shelf and I made a video on my channel so if you wanna check that out too here's the link :) ruclips.net/video/M7lMRInBBQg/видео.html
If you’d like it to be more sturdy I would definitely go with a thicker pvc pipe! When at Home Depot feel the pvc and if it’s too bendy then go up in thickness. 😊
You could probably add a piece of wood dowel inside the top bar to increase the strength so it won't sag in the middle. And add weight to the feet like sand inside them or something.
Just keep track of how many you have and let them know at checkout! The pipes have only one bar code which means all the other pieces won’t have it thus the bar code will show how many full pieces there are. Hope that helps!😊
omg i love it black. But one thing where can i buy like hangers for the clothes so i can put them on. Also if you can help with this its almost my birthday and i want to know where i can buy a leather jacket for like metalheads like me
You can buy them at the dollar store or Walmart! I usually buy faux leather jackets from H&M. Zara has some really good ones too, they’re just a little expensive!😊
I used the medium strength pvc pipe so it holds my items well, but I only add lightweight clothing pieces. If you want more sturdiness I’d say use the thicker pvc piping!😁
You should try it out! Fairly inexpensive. Well I used a medium thickness pvc pipe because I only needed it for shirts. However, if you want to hang heavier items I’d suggest getting more heavy duty thicker pvc pipe!
@@maynunez how much do you think it holds? I was looking to make one to hold maybe 10 pounds worth of plants- but metal pipe is sooo much more expensive!!
It is very expensive, that’s why I went the pvc route! I would suggest to just use the much thicker pvc pipe! Feel how thick and sturdy they are while at the store! There’s a big jump from one to the other! Good luck!
Amazing!!!! I wanted to ask though, how much weight to you think it can hold and have you had any stability problems so far?
This saved me hundreds of dollars for my wedding! Made 2 for under $30 and will be using them as sign stands

You can fill the bottom pieces with sand to add weight and keep the wrack from moving around or falling over easily.

Do the elbows and tees have threads inside or none?

Nice...Looks cool & simple...! Is it stable enough though...? If yes, wud like to create one myself
For me it is! I have winter coats on it!
I was trying so hard to draw this layout to hubby but he was lost. Now I find this one, I share with him so we can build it.
Love this. Did you paint it while assembled or by piece?
I spray painted when fully assembled! That way I didn’t have to wait for sections to dry/or flip individual pieces over!😊
Wow, perfect for my budget.
Thanks for sharing.
How is it for stability? I'm concerned it may tip over.
Use thicker pvc pipe for more sturdiness! I still use mine today and have thick winter jackets on it!
made mine and it's cute. I did in black but will change out in gold later
Does it bend with the weight ?
Amazing! Can't wait to build my own. Do you think different measurements will work the same? If i want twice the width? I wonder if it will hold the weight.

yes this pipe is insanely strong and could even be stronger if you glued it together.
I would say get thicker pvc for a sturdier build!😄
Well I made one out of 25mm (1") pipe and glued it together but really its no good for long dresses as I made mine 1600mm (5'3) high and it bends over (and falls) with it loaded up. I need to reinforce it somehow....
My one also bends... I also think it's coz it's not the same material here...
It doesn't hold the weight...
That’s so strange! I still use mine to this day and I hang thick winter coats on it.
This a pretty quick and easy setup 🥰
Thank you so much, you saved me.a lot of money. It looks good.

Hi I'm wondering how sturdy this is? Would you say it is as sturdy or more sturdy than the cheap ones you can buy at say walmart or something like that? I"m looking to use this to make a portable hanging station for some artwork.
I have personally hung winter coats on mine. If you want it super sturdy get very thick pvc pipe.
Can these hold a lot of weight
This is cool my man has random metal poles all over so I’m gonna incorporate them into this project 😅
Good luck!👍
Hey. I wanna try this but I’m curious how steady it is, is it just for light clothing?
I specifically made mine for light items, but if you want it to be more sturdy I would use thicker PVC!😊
May Nunez thank you so much
You’re welcome!🤗
Yes. Because mine kept leaning over and canting
I’m sorry! As you can see in my newest room makeover I didn’t seem to have that problem! But you can always use metal pvc piping too!
I'd love to know if I can put wheels on it
This is so beautiful.... does it hold heavy clothes?
This is just perfect... I must try this too
I hope you love it too!
this blew my mind lol! subscribed!!!
Thank you!🤗🤗🤗
Can you test how much weight it will hold? Thanks for sharing this!
Frankly, I’m not sure how I could do that, do you have any suggestions?😁 However, I would say that it’s more for lighter pieces!
How sturdy is it as a clothes rack
I’m pretty good at following directions but for some reason as soon as I hung up around 15 hangers of clothes, the whole thing just leaned over and fell. Any suggestions to make it stronger?
Hmm no idea why that would happen! I have thick winter coats hung on mine. Maybe use thicker pvc pipes!
You can get a type of glue made for PVC pipes and use that at the joints to make them stronger. Also make sure you've pushed the PVC pipes in far enough.

Do you think it will still work if I picked a longer bar in between to hold my clothes (maybe double the size) ( I like it having a lot of space)
I just didn’t know if weight would be a problem
Make sure it’s thick enough!
thank you! & your flooring looks great.
