hi I had limb length surgery and now i have some sensation and tingling on top of my foot and some time sharp shock speacially in night time , can you suggest me how can i fix this thanks
No pain, just a tingling sensation each time I flex my left foot. Described exactly what I was feeling. Thanks for the info. It all made sense to why I was feeling this.
I was run over by a truck in March of 22 and my right foot was broken in several places. Then May 2nd, I had surgery on the foot with 4 metal plates installed. The surgery involved long incisions on the top of my foot. After the surgery, I started to have very bad burning pain on top of the arch, and also burning pain between my big toe and second toe, and pain on my smaller toes.
I'm so grateful to have come across your page. I've had flat feet since I was born. The doc didn't want to help until I stopped growing but I have back pain now. My right foot does not bend toes. It's stiff. N right knee cap hurts
I've this issue in my lift ankle! I am doing better with gentle gym workout(weight lifting) and basically everything showed in this video. I spent a year seeing doctors to tell me exactly what u r saying now. you showed everything in less than 15 mints. 💙💙
This describes my top of foot pain pretty well. I hurt my right knee a few months ago and had to wear a brace for most of each day which noticeably changed my walking gate. I also purchased a new pair of walking shoes that ended up being an ill fit and caused my left foot a lot of pain. Now, for the last week or so I've been experiencing pain, burning in my left top of foot.
Thanks for this video.... so helpful. I ruptured my achilles tendon, and had surgical repair of the tendon. There's now numbness and hypersensitivity in my toes, my heel and the top of the foot. Nobody really prepares you well for potential nerve damage and healing when you have foot surgery like this. Really appreciate it!

For me it's intermittent. I walk I'm ok. I sit down then get up and then it's there again. I'm type 1 diabetic. Probably neuropathy. Thanks for the help!

Awesome information. I might add. If you have a vitamin deficiency especially b vitamins like b12 it will cause a lot of what people are asking about in the comments. If blood sugars are high …. Etc… try adding vitamin b foods or supplements to your diet. They are water soluble and need to be taken daily
Hello everyone. I have finally found a way to relieve the nerve pain in feet, which happens due to peripheral neuropathy. The pain feels like a very severe burning sensation in your feet and my solution for the same is massage using a vibrating massage gun and exercise. I am posting here in the comment section of this video so that this can reach the maximum amount of people and help relieve the pain. Please note the causes of peripheral neuropathy vary from one person to the other. So, this solution may or may not work for you. If this doesn't work for you, you can try other solutions given in the videos, such as change in diets, taking the essential vitamins, and the like. This is dedicated to the Lotus feet to Sai Baba. May he bless you. A huge thanks to Michigan Foot Doctors as well. The problem :- Before going ahead, I will give a little bit of background about the issue. My grandma has had some knee replacement surgeries before and suddenly from the past 3 years, she started feeling incredibly tense nerve pain in the top portion (Talus) of her left leg. It usually started during the night and had her moaning with pain throughout the night. After a while, it started happening during the day as well. It sometimes disappeared for a day or two but then came back hard. It was always in her left foot and the weird thing was that knee replacement surgery took place in the right leg. We took my grandma to literally every type of doctor in the city and noone could find a cure. Ultimately, we even had an MRI done and still the doctors couldn't find anything. She was not diabetic and all her tests and bloodwork came good. She had lost all hope and after 3 years of constant pain, she prayed to God to take her life just so she could get relief from the pain. We tried all types of home remedies and even tried icing the top of her foot but it was all in vain. The pathway to the solution :- After losing all hope, I finally decided to do some research on my own. I came to know that this is a condition called "Peripheral neuropathy" and came across several videos of Michigan Foot doctors explaining the issue. If you have not watched them, I highly recommend you to do so. I will put the important links at the end. The doctor in the video suggested three things: 1. Exercises that focused on the stretching of the calf muscles and lower thighs 2. Using massage rollers on the calf muscles and lower thighs 3. Using the ice roller massage ball on the calf muscles and lower thighs 4. Wearing sturdy shoes with thick soles that can support the foot. These are all brilliant solutions and I tried all of them with my Grandma. They had a tremendous impact on her pain. However, the one thing that can actually make the most change, is the use of the vibrating massage gun, which can be purchased online or offline in stores nearby. Using the massage gun :- As you noted, the doctors in the video wanted to massage the calf and thighs to help relieve the pain. Thus, a massage gun works the best in this scenario. I used the gun on the calf muscles of my grandma's left leg (the one with pain) and the moment I touched her muscles with the gun, she moaned with pain. I realized that her calf muscles were very badly cramped. I used the gun on her muscles until she didnt feel pain on her claves. Subsequently, I used the gun on her inner thigh muscles, which I also found to be badly cramped. I found certain points in her calf muscles and inner thighs where my Grandma felt the most pain. When I touched those points with the gun, she could feel the nerves in the top of her foot responding. I was convinced that these spots do have some connection with the pain. After I was done, the pain vanished. It literally vanished. It was like magic. I started doing the exercises, the icing and the massage roller and gun on my grandma's left leg at least 4 times a day (morning, afternoon, evening, night). With God's blessing, my grandma could finally sleep peacefully and there was very little or no pain in her feet. One day I had to go outstation so I recommended my Grandma to do the exercises herself. She did everything except the massage gun and even though she didnt feel any pain during the day, she felt incredible pain during the night. I believe that this was due to the muscle cramps that had formed due to the lack of use of the massage gun. Now I am massaging her regularly during the designated slots or whenever she starts to feel pain. I focus the gun and the icing on the pain spots in her calves and thighs. This method has been working for my grandma and I hope regular massaging and exercising helps my grandma get rid of the pain permanently. NOTE: It is generally safe to use the gun, it is to be used very carefully and not too hard so as to make sure that the muscles dont get hurt. Don't use it for more than 3 minutes on the same spot at once. Links: ruclips.net/video/sEM6WIxmxiM/видео.html ruclips.net/video/_s16v-iDfAE/видео.html

I’ve been really enjoying your videos while I’ve been off my feet for almost 5 weeks. I broke the 1st, 2nd, 5th metatarsal bases, medial and lateral cuniforms, talus head and cuboid. Lisfranc is intact fortunately. Been having shock like nerve tingles on the top of midfoot and what feels like stickers near 4th and 5th toes. Excited to finally get to the point of massage and rehab.
I have nerve pain I think it could be superficial peroneal in my left foot. Just below where the ankle bone is. I thought it could be due to when I had knee surgery back in 2016.
I saw one of your diagrams on your channel. I'm guessing. I decided to see a podiatrist in my area, I've just had one session with him. Talked about my past medical history. In the mean time he suggest using a pediroller under my left foot. I'm booked in for three other sessions during Feb-Mar.
I had a small cyst removed just above the lateral left ankle. Since then the top of my left foot, toes and the left arch have been tingling, painful, and somewhat numb. I'm going to try some of these suggestions... Any other suggestioins would be great! Thanks

Very sharp shooting pain in the top, and the sides of my feet. I have a lot of disk problems, and a couple years ago I was getting cellulitis in my lower legs often, almost every month. This pain is so bad I can't sleep. I can't get comfortable enough to fall asleep. Then when I get so tired that I'm sick the pain can get excruciating. I do ice, I do creams, I do heat, and I want to have them amputated because I don't believe a doctor will help me. I have no swelling and looking at my feet there are no signs as to what causes the pain. I do have 4 or 5 lumps on both my heals, but as far as I can tell they don't bother me. This almost feels like it's in the bones or veins I'm not really sure. I just know it's there, and it really interferes with my daily life, I'm literally ready to pay someone to amputate them because then a doctor will have to help me. The problem is I don't have the guts to do it. But it sucks bad, and gabapentin doesn't help not even a little bit, or muscle relaxers, or antidepressants, or weed, so what's left. Lyrica doesn't even help and it's supposed to be a super strong nerve inhibitor. I know I need help badly.
I was wearing good shoes and am very flexible in calf (almost too flexible) and i do pronate (wear asic kyano for motion control) I went to a trip in Europe where we walked and stood a lot and despite stretching and massaging I developed numbness in the top of the foot and into the first web space and second toe with a positive nerve pain tapping on the top of the foot. So overuse injury, but I'm already doing all of the treatments suggested and it hasn't gotten better...... It's only been one month, but I'm unsure what more to do
My xray was WNL. Symptoms swelling, numbness, tingling/pricking. Feels like drop foot and I'm very active. I do both cardio and weights regularly. The numbness, prickling is on top of my foot and ankle. I'm wondering if this is a pinched nerve. Unsure if an MRI or doppler will narrow down and give a definitive diagnosis. I'm financially concerned with this route in getting that diagnosis. I already shelled out money on two visits and found out they didn't have a doppler machine. I welcome a suggestion to help me overall. I will followup with my PCP.

I was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis about 15 years ago. I used to roll a tennis ball under my foot and stopped wearing flat sneakers, it went away. I recently had a SC injury T4, now my toes feel like they curl under and to the inside, safe to say my nerves are only about 65% in my toes/feet, what do you suggest I do to push my recovery forward pertaining to my toes and feet
I haven’t had any problems with my planter fasciitis in about 15 years, what I need help with is I was paralyzed from the waist down and my nerves were dead. Through therapy I’m doing great but my toes feel weird to me because they feel like they are curling. What do you think that is. Also the very top of my foot right where the foot bends is swollen and I’m having trouble with that. Help me please, thanks for your response.
Hi Doc I was cutting my grass and was trying to go backwards but then hit a depression in the grass that made me lose my balance at the same time I felt a sharp burning pain running from my arch area shooting up towards my 3rd toe area on the top of my right foot. I'm female in my 60s with bunions too that is also an issue with burning pain . I iced the injure for the first day that was 1 month ago! But I seem to injure it repeatedly now or I'm doing something that gives me that burning pain sensation. Any advice you can provide would be much appreciated. Tks

I have flat feet and I think i’ve been wearing the wrong shoes for years and now I’m starting to experience pain when I do certain cardio activities such as walking up a lot of stairs and running. Sometimes I feel pain when my shoe is tied too tight and I have pain between my big toe and second toe.

Tops o$ my feer burn like fire and sides of feet hurt with any pressure . In morning I can barely wLk when I get up . Doesn't really get better through the day . The burning goes away for a while. But always comes back
Okay, I can't hold it back any longer, so I am going to say something about your countenance and demeanor. First of all, I love your informative videos, I am a subscriber, and I always hit the "like" button. In most of your videos, as soon as you start talking, it's as if someone is tickling your feet and you're staring at a very cute puppy. It's not a criticism; it's actually fascinating. You describe pain and disorders with a euphoric gleam in your eye, and your mouth stretches very wide on a regular basis. It's not something I see very often, and it's actually refreshing, but it IS just a bit unusual, kinda quirky and appealing. Keep up the good work!
Best video I've seen yet. Thank you! Are "hard" casted orthotics harmful to the bones of foot? They seem to help, but sadly- I can't wear them in my athletic shoes around the clock. I've also had pain in deep ankle and lowback for 4+ years. It effects my life extremely. I will try your recommendations. Any other input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the great response! I would recommend starting with a softer over the counter version first if the firm ones are too aggressive. www.michiganfootdoctors.com/podiatrist-recommended-orthotics/ If possible, we would appreciate a quick and easy rating from you, and a good rating makes a BIG difference for us! g.page/r/CZWo3fJqJrVpEBM/review Thanks again for watching!
I had a 3cm lis franc dislocation (no surgery). The pain is unbearable. Podiatrist said it is mostly nerve pain but didn't tell me how to help it. I'm wearing rigid supports, unlace top of shoe, and doing daily stretches. Aleve is the only thing helping, but i don't want to take meds. I just want to be able to walk.

@DrTomBiernacki it's been almost 8 months. My podiatrist after 6 months (and $$$$) said this is the best it's going to get. 🤬 I'm desperately looking for something to relieve pain. I'll try the massage roller. I haven't tried that. 😢
When I was young My calf was crushed by a horse. A few years ago broke ankle ( right) that now top of foot hurts. Hurts worse when I wear good Sandle's . Have to wear good shoes arch support sketchers help. I live in Michigan can I see you. Last podiatrist I saw csaid the writings in the wall because I was 65. Bull crap I say; that was his diagnosis. I want to keep hiking can you help me?
I have all the symptoms you're describing on top of my feet. They hurt a lot the bottom of my feet, feel numb in many places. My 3rd toe on both feet are separated. And when I bend my toes, I can't bend them all of way. I've had this problem for 2 years. i'm seventy six. They hurt 24 7 but more at night. I have good insurance. Who do i go see. A pediatric or a nerve doctor.
I went to the Urgent care because I was tired of limping on my left foot. The top of the foot was swelling a bit, too (it's gone down some now). They x-rayed it and said nothing's broken, I just have Tendinitis. I went to a Chiropractor once for it, and it helped some, but I found out my insurance (Medicare) doesn't cover Chiropractic. I'm a big fan of Acupressure but I don't know where to press. Any thoughts? Thanks
I had a minor accident yesterday at which I fell by my right side of my body, after that my top part of foot and ankle had pain . Pls help me with what I do ? Icing or heating?
I was tied up and had rope on top of my foot lol now only a part of the top of my foot is numb, not all of it, and I'm getting knee and thigh spasms, I work everyday
I fractured my ankle last October and the doctor gave me a boot to wear at work without restrictions. Now I am using crutches and the doctor says that the sprain is healed from the fracture but I'm feeling pain just standing up and I can't walk on it. I've tried injections and RH injections. Nothing works. Now my doctor has me using compression socks and an ankle support that supports the instep as well to wear with my shoes but it only helps to lift the foot but not the pain. I still have to use crutches to walk because the pain is unbearable and I haven't been to work because my job requires me to walk and stand at all times. The top of my foot and heal hurt around the ankle area. Why are the doctors not concerned with this?
I’m on my feet all day, work on the airport ram. I get a shocking jolt when sitting and crossing my left leg over my right knee. Very jarring. Sapp !! Any thoughts?
I lost a lot of weight by being on the dreadmill. The top of the foot pain is what I have and have for years. So now I got off the dreaded-mill and got on a stationary bike.

If a shoe is too big, can it cause this pain? Or a Plantar Fasciitis Support Compression Socks Foot Sleeve? I’ve been using one for a few months and not sure if it’s actually helping at all.
Dear Sir. Tks for an informative video. Please may I ask.i have a bone that sticking up at the arch not exactly on the arch just a slight few CMS lower than the arch. I have been for x-rays but the doctors say it is arthritis and nothing they can do about it. It is very painfully if I am standing alot and especially w he en wearing shoes that cross over the arch. Can you perhaps come up with any remedies or any help. Will appreciate your response. Tks.

Looked at your shoe lists but don't see a recommended court shoe? I play pickleball and have arthritis in both big toes and intermittent top of foot pain. All shoes seem to hurt...
Best bet would be a should with an elevated heel like a brooks Ariel, with an insole like power steps. This is usually very effective for big toe and midfoot pain. I also like to skip the lace holes in the middle to put less compression on the top of the middle of the foot.
I have Mortons Neuroma, ,plantar Fasciitis, heel spur. Had shockwave therapy, icing, stretching ,orthotics and nothing helps with the pain . I dont know what else to do , HELP please...🙏
Hi thank you so much for this video. QUESTION; I am trying to get help for two problems; lt great toe has some numbness and I have recurring pain in the space on my rt foot between 3d and 4th toes. My Gp is checking my bloods for Hba1c and vitamins. Results ok. Do you have an opinion on what can cause the above? I am conscious of comfort and support when buying shoes. I stopped wearing inner soles that a podiatrist made for me several years ago, not great for me I prefer shoes with thick soles and soft inside.

@@lisaj9412 no, but I think it was just nerve related. It’s significantly better over a long period of time, barely feel it now, at least over a year to heal. Hope this helps somehow. I play a sport where there is compression on my foot from boots so it may been repeated pressure on the foot.

Hey Doc, I live in rural area and have to self treat most of time. I have severe pain on top of foot where the extensor tendons are. It’s hard to walk and being older I know slower to heal. Can’t get in to see podiatrist because they aren’t taking new patients but X-ray I was able to wrangle was read by radiologist and they said there was arthritis there. I ordered a short cam boot on Amazon to isolate my foot but want to try arch support inserts. Does that sound like a good idea? I just started using Voltarin and ibuprofen but it’s pretty bad. Feels like a spike in top of foot. Going to use your exercises. I’m a subscriber now, love this channel. (Haven’t got the cam boot yet) Didn’t know wether to get the tall or shorter boot

Thanks for this great video! I have had neuropathy on the dorsum of my foot since my ankle ORIF 2 weeks ago. Broke it in a sports injury- lateral and posterior mal #. I realised from your video that it's the superficial peroneal nerve distribution and likely from my dressing being too tight. From your video, I figure that a contributing factor is muscle tightness. There's probably a 20 degree difference in plantarflexion and a 45 degree in dorsiflexion betweeen my ankles. (I have a pretty hypermobile baseline ROM). I had been cleared by my ortho to immediately weight bear in an airboot from day 1 after ORIF (as much as pain allowed), though I took this very cautiously and only really started doing moderate weight bearing on day 13. I been doing non weightbearing ankle movements and drawing out ABCs but it is all very tight. Now the cotton& gauze dressings are off and i'm going to get a massage rolling stick and a supportive insole for my boot. I'll obviously take it very, very slow as my ankle is still healing. Again, really appreciate the video!

hi I had limb length surgery and now i have some sensation and tingling on top of my foot and some time sharp shock speacially in night time , can you suggest me how can i fix this thanks
bone spurs soft not operable. Been like this for years! Wear orthotics and flat feet
Ouch! I hope you're continuing to heal and it's getting better.
I just got home and the top of my foot was in pain. Now I know why. Thank you
I'm so grateful to have come across your page.
I used a red (light) heat lamp for 10mins per day for nerve top of the foot pain and it helps a lot
Thanks for this video.... so helpful.
I ruptured my achilles tendon, and had surgical repair of the tendon. There's now numbness and hypersensitivity in my toes, my heel and the top of the foot.

I get a rash like burn on the side of my foot and also behind toes on top of foot..It seems to move from location..I've been massaging my foot and it's helping

The doctor in the video suggested three things:
1. Exercises that focused on the stretching of the calf muscles and lower thighs
2. Using massage rollers on the calf muscles and lower thighs
3. Using the ice roller massage ball on the calf muscles and lower thighs

I would love to see a video on CRPS of the foot. With your insights and tips thanks.
Nice work! 🙏😊❤️

Hello doc thank you for your information some of your exercise on foot i did some of them bless you 👍
I'm disable person I have pain in my toe since I was little kid .i have to wear two socks to walk comfortably
Thanks
Sorry to hear about your health problems. I hope that some remedies and treatments suggested in my videos will helpp you to get better.

I did the massage rollers and stretches and my feet didnt hurt anymore. Because im overweight and dont stretch i can see why it happens.
It's only been one month, but I'm unsure what more to do
I was in pain thank you 🙏 wow feel better 👍
My xray was WNL. Symptoms swelling, numbness, tingling/pricking. Feels like drop foot and I'm very active. I do both cardio and weights regularly. The numbness, prickling is on top of my foot and ankle. I'm wondering if this is a pinched nerve. Unsure if an MRI or doppler will narrow down and give a definitive diagnosis. I'm financially concerned with this route in getting that diagnosis. I already shelled out money on two visits and found out they didn't have a doppler machine. I welcome a suggestion to help me overall. I will followup with my PCP.
Very good explanation. Thank you for your help. I will try your tips.

Broke my lower fibula today .. now I have such pain on my top of my right foot & even w/ OxyContin it’s so bad the pain !!! 😫😮💨
Hello Dr 👋, am feeling that same pain
I was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis about 15 years ago. I used to roll a tennis ball under my foot and stopped wearing flat sneakers, it went away. I recently had a SC injury T4, now my toes feel like they curl under and to the inside, safe to say my nerves are only about 65% in my toes/feet, what do you suggest I do to push my recovery forward pertaining to my toes and feet
ruclips.net/video/jBXHBBM26kw/видео.html This video might be a good start Stephen!
I wish I could get you in for a physical exam!
How about a sharp feeling on the outside/top of big toe only when pointing toe straight down?
Hi Doc I was cutting my grass and was trying to go backwards but then hit a depression in the grass that made me lose my balance at the same time I felt a sharp burning pain running from my arch area shooting up towards my 3rd toe area on the top of my right foot. I'm female in my 60s with bunions too that is also an issue with burning pain . I iced the injure for the first day that was 1 month ago! But I seem to injure it repeatedly now or I'm doing something that gives me that burning pain sensation. Any advice you can provide would be much appreciated. Tks

I had a 3cm lis franc dislocation (no surgery). The pain is unbearable. Podiatrist said it is mostly nerve pain but didn't tell me how to help it. @DrTomBiernacki it's been almost 8 months. My podiatrist after 6 months (and $$$$) said this is the best it's going to get. 🤬 I'm desperately looking for something to relieve pain. I'll try the massage roller. I haven't tried that. 😢
Also, what do you recommend for dry, itchy, hot feet? They keep me awake. It’s not fungal.
Thanks

Did your pain ever get solved. . Im in the same boat .. plus feeling dizzy...

I lost a lot of weight by being on the dreadmill. The top of the foot pain is what I have and have for years. So now I got off the dreaded-mill and got on a stationary bike.

Broken ankle, no surgery, cast for 5 wks and now a boot. Top of the foot and the sole started hurting while in cast. Now trying to walk in the boot is almost unbearable. Icing helps, otherwise 😫
Great video! This is exactly what I believe I have! I can’t even wear a shoe the top of my foot hurts very badly! I do have rocker soles on my sneakers!

Any shoes you recommend?
What can I do for dry itchy tingling feet

Thanks for the great response!

What if you don’t have pain but with light touch on the front of your ankle, you feel tingling on top of your foot down to your toes?
That’s what I’ve got,did you ever find an answer?

Wow, we appreciate the kind words and your watching. Personally a shoe like a Hoka might be very effective in a scenario like this, but always check with a doctor!

What can l do for tarsel tunnel
@DrTomBiernacki I am having sever pain that strikes up my foot. Applying ice makes it worst. I really need some advice on what I can do to get rid of the pain.
We would love to be able to give you a more specific answer, but unfortunately we cannot do so.
These are very complex medical problems that do require specific evaluation in both physical and imaging modalities. Please see a podiatrist near you for further evaluation.
We really do appreciate you as a fan and we hope to bring you more detailed videos that help more in the future.

Great video! Very informative
