This is super cute! Yuna's responses to some of the monsters made me smile and even a laugh or 2. -Yian Kut-ku... That Sensei part made me smile. -Chameleos: It is kinda hard to see its eye sometimes at least from that picture. -Baka Plesioth was the best, and so true. -Gammoth: I never thought about that. It does kinda look like an apple or strawberry if you imagine it. It's the trunk if we look closer. -Kirin being cute was no secret. -Gypceros dancing, surely does look like it. -Seregios: I always called it a bird because of the sounds it makes. It being called a bat is new to me. -Tetsucabra. Yep. -Cephadrome: I heard the "Kawaii!"
+Mike Rider Cephadrome is decent(he can be annoying but also kinda fun).... Not entirely sure why he gets so much hate but he isn't very memorable. Plesioth can still suck it though. Off topic: If I could bring 15 Monsters from Frontier... the Hardcore Cephadrome would be on the without a doubt.
My friend and I have a few nicknames for certain monster's. Some of these names may be universal in the MH community: Khezu: "Turkey Condom Zombie" Red Khezu: "Dog Penis" or "Red Rocket" Zamtrios: "Jaws" Deviljho: "Pickles" Savage Deviljho: "Bloody Pickles" Jaggi/Great Jaggi: "Jagoff" (They have italian accents) Seltas Queen: "Big Bertha" Seltas: "Sir Gimps-a-lot" (It makes sense when paired up with Seltas Queen. Even more so with Desert Seltas Queen) Yian Kut-Ku: "Derpy Bird" I may have missed a few but these are the ones that I can recall.
My sister has a lot of nicknames for the monsters ZamBam Brack Mizu Gammy Purple Death Chicken Chicken Rath (sometimes hard to tell which one she's referring to lol) Toaster Chammy Kush Chin Monster Steve Electric Steve And those are just the ones off of my head.
Rajang: Harambe Rathalos: Charizard Rathian: Mom Blangonga: Vanilla Ice Dromes: Para Para Brothers Zamtrios: Gums (see if anyone can get that reference) These are some of the names I think of in my head. Rajang used to be Oozaru.
I guess i'm weird, but I prefer all of the translations over the Japanese pronunciations. They just come to mind much easier imo, even if they don't sound as "epic" or whatever.
That was really cute, I loved Yuna's comments on some of them! Especially for Plesioth, she knwos what's up XD If you know WolfyMelon and her music, does the name Falkkone strike something?? He makes Monster Hunter Theme metal arrangements, and they are some of my favorite music of all time! You should definitely check him out, especially if you like metal. The fated four adn the Shagaru ones are my personal favorite!
So cute and informative, loved it! I also really like how Malfestio sounds in Japanese, it's really melodic, like I hear it pronounce its own name. (Kinda like a pokémon I guess)
what an adorable video I love it :D I personally like some of the monsters name in Japanese better like Jinouga ,Rangurotora and Happurubokka imo are way better.
Kind of cool seeing this and watching the recent Monster Hunter Stories anime. Since they use the Japanese names in the anime, I had no idea what some of them were, so this is really cool!
I "aaawwww-ed" everytime your daughter said a name XDDD Soo cuuute X3 And I prefer the original japanese names over the westernized versions of the names (most of the time)
The origin of the name of that Owl: In Japan, this monster is called ホロロホルル [ho-ro-ro-ho-ru-ru], which is derived from the Japanese onomatopoeia for owl sounds, the word “chloroform,” and Koropokkuru-a race of small people in Ainu folklore. The name Malfestio is a mix of the words maleficus (Latin for wicked), jester, and asio (a genus of owls). We felt “wicked” was a good word to describe the monster’s spellbinding capabilities, and visually, it sort of looks like an owl wearing the cap ‘n bells of a jester.
This was cool to hear. My only feedback would be that it'd be nice to see a visual guide on the kana and romaji on the screen, but otherwise great video!
Gaijin I gotta say you quickly became my favourite youtuber! Discovered you only recently when I thought about playing MHGen on a more serious note and I have to deeply thank you for teaching me so much interesting and important stuff about the game - I now love it even more thanks to you!! Your videos are always entertaining, interesting (damn I use that word often..) and helpful and I love to let them play in the background when playing monster hunter after a long day of hard work! (your voice is totally calming too, sorry if that sounds weird haha!) I'll definately continue to like & fave every of your videos and look forward to the content coming in the future! PS: Your daughter is named Yuna!? That's so freaking awesome! And she sounds so cute too! Seems like she already knows a thing or two about the world of Monster Hunter too haha! Too cool! Thanks for everything again and I wish you happy hunting too! :D
Aaaahw Thats so sweet! You should maybe do this for ... MHF too?! :D i love it how i can now watch this video without the subtitles and sometimes refere to what Yuna says. Man, i kinda want to learn japanese too but its so hard for me cuz of dyslexia.
that was so cute I almost died. MH should get voice actors and cast your daughter as the Guild girl. or maybe a jr. guild girl. she can give her commentary to every hunt. I would pay double for the game.
I honestly wish that the translation team would have kept the Nibelsnarf as the Hapurubokka. It's leagues more aesthetically pleasing and much more easy on the ears. The same goes for the three starter Pelagus from Yukumo. (Aoashira, Rangurutora, and Urukususu) I played MHP3 on my PSP for the longest of time and still call those monsters by said name! Thoroughly enjoyed this upload Gaijin. Very fun, cute, and informative.
that was so nice and so cute. though I thought Japanese don't pronounce the letter "L", but I could hear it when Yuna read Shagaru Magala's name. thanks Gaijen :)
I was originally inspired to get into Monster Hunter after watching another youtuber's playthrough of 4 so I remember a lot of the Japanese names of the monsters from 4U, except Seregios. I also remember Jinouga and Naruga Kuruga and of course the Japanese names of the monsters from Cross/ Generations. I also watched the first episode of the Stories anime, which is where I learned that Arzuros is Aoshira and also Rathalos's Japanese name. But that's about all.
Pretty much know all of em since I've been playing on the JPN ver of the series :/ (Loved the way Yuna just called Plesioth 'baka yarou' first, then 'Ganototosu' XD)
Hi GaijinHunter, I have done an experiment on finding hunter defense formula (effect of non-elemental damage on hunter in relation to defense value). Does the japanese community know the formula? Our community here is not familiar with it. So, if you can't find the damage formula, can I email you my research so that we can share with the community?
SO CUTE! :'D
wow!!!
Richard Romero_2186105 we know where that goes! If you know what I mean *wink* *wink*
Big thank you for using my music Gaijin Hunter, I'm so glad you enjoy my MH covers, loved the video! :) x

Your daughter knows plesioth is terrible!
You have raised your child well
NuSensaysonVideos lol
Hey, smart minds start young
I lost it there too
[HIPCHECK INTENSIFIES]
Your daughter should comment ALL your videos. She is hilarious!
Wait... can a person be hilarious?
I'm not a native English speaker, so please correct me if I'm wrong.
Still, I think you get what I've tried to say.
+Pichirruchi yes your English is spot on!
Agreed, a plesioth hunt comented by her would be amazing!
because you know... #wehateplesitoh
Your daugther is cute man
This is too cute! You should do some vlogs with your fam. I enjoy seeing all your content . Really helps out the community
Honestly a great idea, I would love some vlogs!
Also your daughter is adorable, and the music fits it so well
Vlog playlist here: ruclips.net/p/PLDR3ta7VqKrySHkYAfs5fQHuFDQD1I4YG
Seems like I've got something to do for the next one and a half hour (: thanks!
Aaaww her reaction to the monsters is cute, especially when she said baka to plesioth XD
I'm usually not into a lot of the monster hunter music covers but I reaaaallly love this one.
Your little daughter sounds real cute ^^ + Awwwwwwwww i like kirin too,its too cute. Yuna realy has taste
this is the most amazing and heartwarming things ever, now im going to feel warm fuzzy feelings all day
I usually don't say this, BUT THIS WAS SO GOB DAMN CUTE!
That was the best reading I've ever heard. Her commentary on the monsters was so cute. 13/10 would recommend.
Did Yuna just lowkey diss her homeroom teacher (Yian Kutku Sensei~♪) XD
A video full of pictures of nasty terrifying monsters, and everyone is going "Awwwwwwww!"
I knew I was not the only one who found it cute!
Team Cephadrome!
...
Fuck Plesioth though...
Yes, her "baka" was just the best :D
+Mike Rider Cephadrome is decent(he can be annoying but also kinda fun).... Not entirely sure why he gets so much hate but he isn't very memorable.
Plesioth can still suck it though.
Off topic: If I could bring 15 Monsters from Frontier... the Hardcore Cephadrome would be on the without a doubt.
Mike Rider "Bakayaro!"
Ever heard the whimpers of a dying Cephadrome? It's like the cutest thing in existence!
+Plesiothx
One of the few reasons I casually fight Cephy out at random.
To hear that adorable limping sound, sometimes makes me feel bad to kill them.
That was absolutely precious.
イアンクック先生~
my heart died gaijin why you do dis to me
this was the most adorable thing I've seen all day, I really needed this to cheer me up
My friend and I have a few nicknames for certain monster's. Some of these names may be universal in the MH community:

Yian Kut-Ku: "Derpy Bird"
I may have missed a few but these are the ones that I can recall.
That is disturbingly accurate.
zamtri isnt jaws, but the shark from finding nemo :D
My sister has a lot of nicknames for the monsters
ZamBam
Brack
Mizu
Gammy
Purple Death Chicken
Chicken
Rath (sometimes hard to tell which one she's referring to lol)
Toaster
Chammy
Kush
Chin Monster
Steve
Electric Steve
And those are just the ones off of my head.
"Slaying Nakarkos" is called "Squid fishing(イカ漁 ika ryou)" some of Japanese MH players.
Rajang: Harambe
Rathalos: Charizard
Rathian: Mom
Blangonga: Vanilla Ice
Dromes: Para Para Brothers
Zamtrios: Gums (see if anyone can get that reference)
These are some of the names I think of in my head. Rajang used to be Oozaru.
Thanks for sharing the WolfyMelon Channel i'm a great fan of gaming related piano covers and this one is awesome :)
This is certainly the cutest of all your videos. Loved it.
Your daughter is so cuuuuuuuuuuute!!! I love the way she says the monsters names and her comments. You're a lucky father :)
i mostly know the names from MHP3rd, like Rangurotora, Urukusu, Happurubokka, Jinouga. Jinouga sounds better than Zinogre imo
But it's the exact same thing.
lol, i forgot to type in 'sounds' sorry
unofficial translations be like
I always say Jinouga, even if it reads Zinogre ingame, I just prefer the original name
I guess i'm weird, but I prefer all of the translations over the Japanese pronunciations. They just come to mind much easier imo, even if they don't sound as "epic" or whatever.
See, everybody thinks plesi is an idiot... Listen to the kid!
that plesioth japanese name was on point
娘ちゃん可愛いわ〜笑
ありがとうございました!
That was really cute, I loved Yuna's comments on some of them! Especially for Plesioth, she knwos what's up XD If you know WolfyMelon and her music, does the name Falkkone strike something?? This is really cool! I like the name "naruga caruga"
It's "Kuruga", "Naruga Kuruga", which sounds like "nargacurga". No wonder why they took that r out in the english version
Thanks for the correction :)
to not sound more like a twist-tongue word they took the "r"
I grew up with narugakuruga (because mh2g fan translation) so when I first heard and read "nargacuga" I found it funny and weird sounding.
So Uragaans japanese name is Uragaan-chin? Clever.
it's actually "Uragankin" ^^
Well almost then ^^
you should put the name in japanese below, to see how its written and how its pronounced
Leafy's missing chin!
I know monster Japanese Names cause i live in Japan and im Japanese too
Well this is the most adorable video you've ever made. This like is well deserved. Well done.
Such a great video! Yuna's such a lil cutie, her little 'idiot' at plesioth defiantly got a good laugh out of me
I'm loving that piano cover in the background
Oh, wow. I wrote this before finishing the video
Diabetes, YOUR DAUGHTER'S SWEETNESS GIVES ME DIABETES!!!!!
Really cool hearing a native actually say it. I learnt most of the names when I bought MHX but some of them it's hard to wrap your tongue around.
This was absolutely adorable! Big compliment to your daughter!
Thank you Yuna for this very adorable video!
a lot of the names are very similar! this video was great, Yuna is adorable.
So cute and informative, loved it!
I also really like how Malfestio sounds in Japanese, it's really melodic, like I hear it pronounce its own name. (Kinda like a pokémon I guess)
Yuna named after FFX or just a cute name?
+A very normal spider both ^^
gaijin hunter I like it alot. It's a very cute name :D
what an adorable video I love it :D I personally like some of the monsters name in Japanese better like Jinouga ,Rangurotora and Happurubokka imo are way better.
Please make more videos like this! Thanks for bringing such a lot creativity to this community!
How cute and such a wonderful idea accompanied by this incredible music.
That music + Voice. Atmosphere of cute. Omg
This is so cute! Also her description of Plesioth made me laugh so much, she knows what's up! :D
Kind of cool seeing this and watching the recent Monster Hunter Stories anime. Since they use the Japanese names in the anime, I had no idea what some of them were, so this is really cool!

A whole new month and new useful information.
Ahhh good ol Yian Kut-ku Sensei. I definitely felt a lot more comfortable with the mechanics after beating him the first time.
Genial! I love that you promote WolfyMelon. she is fantastic!
ASMR Japanese Monster Hunter Monster Names. This is a video I had never thought I'd ever see
that was... the cutest shit. Like, wow. it's like a human Yui
I "aaawwww-ed" everytime your daughter said a name XDDD Soo cuuute X3
And I prefer the original japanese names over the westernized versions of the names (most of the time)
I would absolutely love to see another one of these, maybe with her pronouncing pokemon names or something ^^
This is the cutest MHvideo that I've ever seen
This was cool to hear. My only feedback would be that it'd be nice to see a visual guide on the kana and romaji on the screen, but otherwise great video!
She's so adorable! Great video Gaijin Hunter!
Such a nice idea, Gaijin hunter! It's great to see variety in monster hunter stuff beyong gameplays and video guides. Congratulations my frrriend!

Gaijin I gotta say you quickly became my favourite youtuber!

Aaaahw Thats so sweet! You should maybe do this for ... MHF too?! :D i love it how i can now watch this video without the subtitles and sometimes refere to what Yuna says. Man, i kinda want to learn japanese too but its so hard for me cuz of dyslexia.
This was cool. I enjoy these kinds of videos.
Ahahaha! Loved your daughter's comment on the monster, especially chameleos and plesioth. Idiot plesioth and his hipchecks! >:D
that was so cute I almost died. MH should get voice actors and cast your daughter as the Guild girl. or maybe a jr. guild girl. she can give her commentary to every hunt. I would pay double for the game.

Great video man. Thank you
that was so nice and so cute. though I thought Japanese don't pronounce the letter "L", but I could hear it when Yuna read Shagaru Magala's name. thanks Gaijen :)
Love the video, Gaijin! Subscribed!!
Yuna Kawaii
I was originally inspired to get into Monster Hunter after watching another youtuber's playthrough of 4 so I remember a lot of the Japanese names of the monsters from 4U, except Seregios. And I also remember I once read up about Khezu's Japanese name and the reason behind it.
plesioth best translation ever
BTW watch the video once without subs than watch it again with the generated subs its like watching a different video
awww~! she sounds adorable and sweet c:
Oh my god this is adorable AND informative.
This video was good, you're good, your daughter was good, and monster hunter is good.
Things were good today.
Pretty much know all of em since I've been playing on the JPN ver of the series :/
(Loved the way Yuna just called Plesioth 'baka yarou' first, then 'Ganototosu' XD)
One of my favourite cats in MHX is called Yuna, it's my favourite name of all time!!
Gaijin; You & Your daughter are really something special. :D
