I cannot enjoy enough of the fact how much people of the Netherlands respect nature.
imagine you live there, waking up early, going to the door of the house to get the newspaper and there are several people passing by boat and taking pictures of your house
Or, better yet, the Chinese tourists I saw that took it upon themselves to pose in the garden of a home for pictures.
Hopefully we don’t have that problem for a while.😷

It's like a fairytale indeed but what's really unique about this video is how empty it is due to the lockdown. I live nearby and usually it's just as crowded like themeparks.

I just wanted to comment that my wife and I have watched most of your walking videos in different locations in the Netherlands. While we live in Canada we have visited the Netherlands some 10 times at least. We have not seen the entire world but in our eyes the Netherlands is one of the prettiest countries. Sadly because of the current mess in the world we will not be able to visit this year. Thank you for the beautiful videos you create.

@@wanderingthomas I think that is the most difficult question to answer. There are too many beautiful villages/towns and cities to mention.....but let me just name a few ;) Delft, Gouda, of course Giethoorn, the charming village of Thorn, the beautiful cities of Den Bosch, Groningen, Middelburg, Leiden, Haarlem, Utrecht and Maastricht to name just a very few. Last Summer we visited Broek in Waterland, Monnickendam and Marken. If, and when we can travel again, with not too many restrictions we hope to visit Deventer, Alkmaar, Breda etc. etc. etc. I hope your prediction about travel in Autumn comes true. In the meantime we will live through your wonderful videos. Almost forgot Nijmegen!

W Giethoorn byłam w zeszłym roku jest bardzo dużo piękne,fantastyczne nagranie pokazujesz najładniejsze widoki przecudownna Holandia,pozdrawiam Ciebie
There are other towns with same impression in that region, rent a bike in summertime from Blokzijl to Jonen , Dwarsgracht, Muggenbeet,Nederland, Baarlo back to Blokzijl and you see more amazing old dutch landscapes with small villages and you will think that you are in the Hobbits country. Take a sunny day, safe route because most of the way is on small bicycle lanes without cars, so safe for tourists.

Oh there are enough problems there already. It is really calm there rn because there are no Chinese tourists. Just lookup "chaos in Giethoorn
" on RUclips and you'll see what kind of hell summer makes of that godforsaken place. Houses are super cheap compared to simulair places in The Netherlands.

@@patrickfitzgerald2861 There are none. Giethoorn is the only little water village we have. And somehow they managed to turn it into a disney world.

One of the most idyllic places in the Netherlands.
Rent a private boat and visit the island restaurant.
Also nice for sailing.

It used to when the winters were a lot colder :)
If you enter the following in the search field "schaatsen giethoorn" (without the quotes) you will find a lot of clips of skating in Giethoorn. In 2012 we had a cold winter.
