I love this! I lived at 1817 Ivar at Yucca in 1991 and loved the history just in my building alone. I found a list of who lived there and it was all silent film stars, bit players and writers... fascinating! Lillian Gish, Marie Dressler, many others. In fact I smoked my first joint in the very unit Nathaniel West wrote 'Day of the Locust' in, still with the same murphy bed, and didn't know it til much later! He had a fantastic view of the sunset btw. My love for old Hollywood will live on, thanks to my experiences there.

Very enlightening! I lived in LA in the '60s and early '70s. 😃
