Thanks for this, Tim. Because it's a personal documentary of what's happening, I felt more connected than watching reports from the media outlets. I hope you stay high and dry. Take care and stay safe. Best wishes from Ontario, Canada.
Somerset region is completey devastated by this rain, my friends have already lost their homes there and are completely cut off from everything else due to the road closures. This is insane especially with everything going on with the world rn.
Thanks for that very informative vid, my wife's son has moved to Brisbane and she has been worried about how this disaster will affect him. I've used your footage to show the topography of Brisbane and how varied the flooding is. Thanks for all your work, it's a great help.
“ I’m trying to do a run here but I should’ve brought my goggles.” That made me laugh out loud. I am in South East Brisie ( Carindale) and it’s getting increasingly worrying.
It’s a beautiful city built around the river but that’s also the problem when we get so much rain. The rain is expected to ease tomorrow and hopefully we can start the clean up
Amazing how fast the water level rises. I was doing some menu log driving the night around 7:30 before and did a delivery to units opposite the Regatta. Land Street had flooded but you still get across Sylvan Road. But not the next day. Likewise, the 5 way intersection was still above water then, but Milton State School was under.
Yes it rises quickly. We saw a car parked in the side of the road with water up to the headlights. We went back an hour later and it was halfway up the windscreen
Cheers for this video, you showed our old street (Beard Street), our old house was 2 metres under in 2011 (we moved in 2015). And here we are again. Stay safe.
I've only recently started watching your channel, had to catch up on my geography. I'm in Florida, USA You really had some flooding. March 20th 2020 hope you are okay and hope if not already, life will be getting back to normal for you real soon.
Thanks for the chuckle with the goggles line! Ive just got home from a short walk where i discovered the last access in and out of my suburb is under… yay… stay safe mate!
Thank you for their video albeit so terrible to see those houses second time in 11 years go under. We just moved to Redlands from Auchenflower so blocked off from the city where I work on Park road. If you have footage of the corner of fernberg road and Ellena st roundabout, that is my parents unts and shops. You ran passed but cut the footage out so didn't see. Please pray for all those people.
It's hard to be a glass half full person watching this. The only positive i can see is even a lot of rain is better than zero rain, i guess. I'm at a loss, i got nothing. This sucks; huge utility and logistics nightmare. Prayers.
With Milton road, does that guy still live there that dresses the nun up in the front window ? It would be on the left side when travelling inbound. Milton and Eagle tce looks too deep to cross. It would be up to your chest with no view of what is below. I know that street and have driven it many times.
I would be worried about the sewage and E-coli that water because the sewers will be flooded obviously and all that human waste will spill out of the disconnector traps on the flooded house drains. Skin infections.
Rosalie village, where I am, the water was about 2m higher. There’s a mark on a telegraph pole showing it. I’m not sure about the 1974 floods. I’ll see what I can find out.
Jeez guys I hope you are safe. This hasn't been on Irish news at all but usually it would be due to the amount of young Irish people in Brisbane. I guess Ukraine 🇺🇦 and Putin are taking all the time at present. Wishing you well from a windy Ireland.
It would be interesting to track down who owned the block land that was sold in flood area or which council changed the zoning so they could be sold for residential because the council gives out DA approval with the DA approval you are guaranteed to have a safe environment for a house because of the engineers solicitors town planning and other people involved you cannot get a DA by yourself you cannot build a house anywhere by yourself it must be council approved. So there's no one else to put the blame if the council has given permission to build and have dwellings in an unsafe environment duty of care has been killed. There is only one group there is only one body that can be blamed for this and that is the Council. So it is simple dig up the records find out who owned the blocks of land that have been changed by zoning so they can be sold for residential or commercial sites and if these blocks of land that was sold to the individuals without warning of flood area then the council is 100% liable simple you say greed and corruption there must be a cost and land developers manipulate with solicitors and barristers to change the wording to manipulate the wording so it can be sold not ethical not morally right but a friend of mine in business said there's no sentiment in business. But I say if you have been caught with your fingers in a fraud it's very hard to clean them. What happened to the ombudsman are they a toothless Tiger what happened to the corruption body well we all know what happened with the casinos they were bought out. Big money has it got any shame is there any accountability it looks like only when you get caught out well they certainly have because the evidence is in plain sight
@G Atkins the trouble is we can now see in plain sight where the problem lies. A lot of people haven't got any common sense at all that's why we have councils ministrations engineers and advisors so you don't buy in dangerous areas. But when when developers pressure counsellors and they change the zones that's when it's 100% fraud. It's like what's happening now with the Pope he's trying to bring in a green Sabbath Sunday which does not exist which is a total lie fabrication distortion and total deception. In actual fact according to scripture Catholics are not Christian. But you have a lot of problems with the hierarchy they have given an enormous amount of miscommunications to their parishioners distortion lies and going totally against Jesus Christ. But the priests and nuns who dedicate their lives to Christ it is an enormous distress on Christ as Christ warns his followers get out of Babylon so if you are a Christian you need to do one thing read Scripture as Jesus said my people are perishing for lack of knowledge

Thanks so much Noralee. We are safe, still without power but doing ok!
So hard to find videos from regular people now. The bloody news populates all the search results. Thanks for the vid mate!
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching.

Glad it helped to show the topography. Brisbane city is very up and down. Hope your wife’s son is safe.

Thanks. It's bad but the news down plays it.
Some pockets are very bad
So so sad to see this happening again. I was there in 2011 but out of Brisbane now!!!! Thanks for the great pictorial of all my old haunts. 💔
So sad. Glad you recognised the streets
Thanks Tim & Amanda for the footage-the devastation is hard to imagine #Brisbane #floods
That’s crazyy! Stay safe🙏🏼
Thx for the update, I’m really worry about my friends there… I remembered how nice the city was and people there
It’s a beautiful city built around the river but that’s also the problem when we get so much rain. The rain is expected to ease tomorrow and hopefully we can start the clean up
It's been abnormally dry in my part of the US. Hopefully the water completely recedes soon. Best wishes
Thank you

@@TriFitwithTimandAmanda to be honest yea it was reasonably horrific, but the kindness from everyone afterwards was incredible. Still love the area.
It is a beautiful area and the community spirit is alive and well
Glad you are both safe. thanks for the vids. so sad and devastating. but take care of each other. x
Yeah it’s pretty bad around here

Wow great video. So sorry to all the Brisbanites getting flooded out again.
Thanks mate. The weather’s a bit crazy

The yes the nun is still in the window!
Thank you for this video.
Thanks
Moreton Bay Area is getting bad from all of the dam releases, drive safe people
We’ve woken up to no rain so hopefully things can drain
Why put the socks on sir?? 🤨😂😂 You doubled up just to walk through water?! 🤣
They’re compression sleeves so I don’t tear my calves. And bare feet in wet shoes give you blisters
Haradi bura...Gözel şeherdi....
Thanks for watching
I'm scared of snakes, especially venomous species that tend to escape floods to seek high ground.
I’ve never seen a snake around here
Aussies as always, imma just go for a run like nothings happening.
Haha we’re pretty laid back
Thanks
No worries
Go for a look good job 👍
Trying to go for a run and got stuck everyway so might as well film it
Stay safe people 💙
The rain just isn’t stopping
Id be keen to see an after when the water is finally gone!
Hopefully that’s not too far away
Lots of shit water from sewerage system. Still remember the awful smell of those street and homes from 2011.
It’s now that the rain has stopped and the water is still that it’s going to get bad
I would be worried about the sewage and E-coli that water because the sewers will be flooded obviously and all that human waste will spill out of the disconnector traps on the flooded house drains. Skin infections.
It wasn’t too bad this early. Might get worse now
unique footage, via an athlete.....what a perspective
Glad you liked it
Extreme 🏃♂️. Walk through crazy/unbelievable conditions 😮 😥
It is a bit unbelievable
You’re game, walking through that flood water. Better have your shots up to date - and watch out for the snakes, rats etc!
And the stupidity if wading thru chest deep water where you could easily be washed away
Yeah not the smartest thing I’ve done
Luckily didn’t see any snakes
Wanted to tutor some people for just couple hours... spent 7 hours stuck because all the roads to go north flooded
The water rose so fast
Good job with the comentary on the video mate, looking forward to seeing your next one.
Thanks. It was interesting seeing how the river city was affected
Hello friend! Greetings

@@TriFitwithTimandAmanda Hi guys. How are you going today
@@TriFitwithTimandAmanda Thank you friend
With all that water, would your runners be ruined?
No I just gave them a wash when I got home
I wonder what the comparsion of south brisbane of 1974. 2011. and 2022? See if you can a video.

Thanks so much. We are safe. We woke up to no rain but the water is now just sitting there.
We’ve had some damage in our garage but we’re safe.
That part of Milton always floods.
Yep. Sure does
Good thing your guys are up the hill a bit.
The garage is just about to go under!
I would be afraid of what kind of "critters", would be hiding in that deep water. Gators, snakes, whatever, could be swimming around.
We don’t have alligators, we have crocs but they prefer warmer water. And not many snakes right in the city
Bull sharks though
I don’t even think in the 2011 floods a bull shark was sighted out of the river
Time to fix your drainage when you have water like that even once in a while. It could be worse if its allowed to build up like that.
The river drainage is out of our hands
👍 greatest
Thanks
"I will not walk through floodwater"

A boat on a road..you don't see that everyday
It’s quite unusual
2011 floods was 4 foot higher than this.
wait til tomorrow.
@@adamsleath the water will peak in 2 or 3 days. may get another 2 or 3 feet higher yet.
Let’s hope it doesn’t get to the 2011 levels
You've got guts walking waist deep in that water. I see aot of people in shorts, is it hot there? And are you close to Perth?
It is very hot - around 30 degrees Celsius. We're on the other side of the country to Perth - 3600km away!

BTW?
Don't they know from history where not to build to ground level?
Some areas flooded that hadn’t flooded before
