- This is a quick video to show you how to attach the removeable bootstrap (CRS) on a recent Bauer pad. While this pad is a Vapor 1X, the 2X, 2S and other models in the lineup use the same system.
This video doesn't exactly show you how to remove the bootstrap... but you just do the same thing in the reverse order ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

One thing to know is that on a brand new set of pads, the tab that you thread the hook portion of the boot strap through (the first step in the video) is tucked into a pocket for people that don't use the boot straps. It looks look the tab is missing. It's not, it's just tucked away out of side. Great video. Very helpful! After watching it, we finally realized when the tab was hidden. Thanks!
Glad this was helpful :)
Thank you so much @Amy for posting this - I was confused where the tabs were. Thank you @hockey reviews for the video
Thank you! I was about to get really frustrated.
absolute lifesaver of a comment right there
Just used this to setup my new Hyper Lite pads, great video!
Glad it helped!
Awesome videos, I'm new to the sport and live in New Zealand so getting time with experienced goalies is hard. Thank you
Glad they can help. Have fun out there!
Great video, great pads!
I didn't have the instructions, just found them in the bag, so thanks.
Just used this for my sons M5’s thank you!
Glad it helped!
Thanks! The new bauer GSX pads have these. Was wondering how to put them on.
Very helpful, thanks!🙏
You just helped me a lot ... thanks
Glad this helped!
Very helpful!
Glad it helped :)
Very helpful - Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks!
Thank's a lot🤗
Hope it helped!
Great video and thanks. Can you still use the Lunquist strapping with these pads?
Yes, it just doesn't go straight back like some of the newer pads do.
Hey Matt. Where do you get the boot strap kit. I got a new set of GSX junior pads for my son. It came with everything except the leather T that holds that black loop. The place I got it has no idea and what I’m talking about and I can’t find it anywhere. I have everything else besides that piece.
All of the straps came in a little bag with the pads. Could call the store you got them from and see if they have extras since they should've included it.
Do the Vapor X900 have the same set up? It looks like they do. thanks
I'm pretty sure they do, but I haven't seen a pair in a while so don't quote me.
Stupid question but my GSX pads the tab seems really hard to get it out do you have a tip to get it out?
I haven't check on GSX. But I found pliers useful
I would love to know if this can be used on my CCM Premiers
Do your premiers not have a boot strap? Which version are they?
@@HockeyReviews I have the leather strap, would be nice to replace them with the elastic. Seems like they have a similar anchor style hooks. CCM Premier 1.9
Unfortunately I can't say if these would work with your 1.9 sorry
Do they still sell those crs straps? I cant find any anywhere.... thanks for the heads up
I haven't seen them available for a while, but I haven't been actively looking.
Hey! I’m trying to do this for my own pads but the tab that you put the screw through only has one hole! Should I just poke another one through with the screwdriver?
I wouldn't know unless I actually saw it.
@@HockeyReviews oop sorry I didn’t think of that lol I just got off the ice with them, I poked a hole through it with a knife right where the one in your video was and it worked perfectly! Must’ve just been a factory defect because nothing else was different. Thanks anyway though!
Does the shorter boot strap fit pretty snug? I play inline and the long strap always seems to get caught in my wheels
I never used the short so can't say sorry.
pro tip: replace it with skate lace covered shock cord, you can pull it so theres no slack left and when you drop it'll stretch the 3" or so you want form a boot strap but keep itself out the way
The bootstrap seems way too short. Is there an option to use a longer one so the fit is not as tight?
All of the bootstraps I have are short like this including the straps that came with the XX-Long straps I ordered with the 2X Pro pads. But, the bootstrap is elastic, so it will stretch and shouldn't be very restrictive.
Does boot strap come with new pads
I think the off the shelf options should have it. But I know it's still a custom option to put it on. But knowing how retail places work, I'd ask them to make sure the pads have the bootstrap with them before ordering.
What about Vapor 3x I can’t figure it out
Should be the same, my Hyperlites were done the same way.
Just did it with my 3x's, the tab is really tucked in on the one side, and is on the calf flap on the otherside.
This works on the 2x pro right?
Yes, works on the Ultrasonic as well.
Where do I buy the boot strap? My pads didn’t come with them
Try and contact your local Bauer retailer, they might have some lying around or they might be able to order a newer version which should work in these.
@@HockeyReviews ok. Do you know what the newer versions are called?
It should just be called CRS Boot Strap
This works with s29 right?
Good tutorial btw
It should
@@HockeyReviews thanks
What the fuck my straps came in a bag for my leg pads and I didn't come with screws
they should have never got rid of the straps and buckles..but I guess this is cool
Doesn’t work on 2x
Yes it does. But okay
These do not work on the Mach pads, they don't have a hole that allows the straps to be pulled through on the one side of the pad.
Yes, this still works for Mach. You can see the straps in this video when I am talking about the boot channel.

Bauer tucking that tab in is annoying af
I am just happy it is still there and not removed totally yet
