Almost a year ago, my mother's Roomba encountered this error. Tonight, I tried to fix it, but the recommended solutions didn't work. However, your video provided the solution I needed. Thank you ❤
I found a Roomba 890 in the garbage in my building along with all accessories. I assume they threw it out because of the charge error eight I followed your tutorial and it’s good as new battery lasts over an hour. No problems at all. Thanks for your upload.
Glad to hear it! I did the steps I explained and now I use mine all the time. Same original battery from when I first bought it. The biggest thing is to keep charging contacts clean, get enough charge on the unit to do the reset, then run the unit, charge, run, charge. Once it gets back into being used it goes back to running like new.
Did you follow my instructions to reset the charge cycle, and other instructions? Also what may help is putting the Roomba on the charging leads and holding and rubbing the vacuum so that the metal leads rub on each other. Rub them together for a few seconds and then make sure the vacuum charge ports are centered on top of the charge leads. If they are, after a few seconds there should be a little green light on the charger that comes on. For my model eventually on the Roomba itself the little red or green battery icon will slowly pulse that it is charging. Another charging trick if charging on carpet is to prop the rear end up with a pencil or maybe weight the rear down (depending on the carpet and how your vacuum is tilting from the charger leads).
Ran my roomba battery completely dead and it wouldn’t charge. Battery indicator remained solid orange and wouldn’t blink while attempting to charge. Tried your reset trick and pushed the center clean button down for around 10 seconds and it beeped. Apparently resetting the charging cycle. Battery indicator then blinked orange indicating charging. Thanks for your help!
Hey Markus, glad my video was helpful for you! I use my Roomba all the time now with the same battery I once believed was dead. The more I use it and recharge my Roomba, the better it does and the longer it can go for in a vacuuming session. I hope more people can utilize this video so they aren’t disposing of batteries that are very salvageable. Saves people money and better for the environment.
Goodnight! I need help. My romba 531 is defective. When the reset is done by pressing the three buttons it turns off and gives a sound but when trying to turn on by pressing Clean and Spot the Clean button is in a flashing orange tone with time it turns green and does not turn on when pressing the Clean button. What should I do to return to normal configuration. Thank you very much in advance! Thanks.
I haven’t had that happen with mine but I think that puts it in a 16-hour refresh charge. Maybe once it does that, let it charge for a day. This is a guess, but it might work if it needs those 16 hours to charge (if that’s what it is signaling).
It likely isn’t a short if I was guessing. It is more likely that the connection between the vacuum and the charger is poor (even if the leads are touching). For mine I set the two metal charging leads on the vaccine on top of the charging meta leads and fidget the vacuum back and forth so the metal rubs together with a little friction. Then I make sure the charger light is lit green and listen for the charging sound. Usually if it is charging the battery icon on the vacuum will become visible, though that could very by model.
Does it seem like it’s a battery issue or a mechanical issue? If it’s the later, you might be able to disassemble it similarly to how I disassembled mine without a screwdriver or anything and just clearing an obstruction that might be caught up in there.

O
Mine is saying era eight
Does mine have a short. It will charge for a minute or so then the lights go off

@@scharajrHello, I have the same situation and i did what you suggested but it still doesn't stay green
Any advice for the red triangle with an exclamation point. roomba 614, turns on and immediately stops sounds like it is locking up
