Turning the Doomslayer into a Demon!

- Doom Eternal comes out later today, and I just had to post this video!
Watch as we analyze the Doomslayer's suit (the Praetor suit) and use some of the hallmarks of its appearance to paint the marine's Demonic twin... an entity we're calling The Doombringer.

This is a brilliant way to create a video essay, rather than just dumping footage of speed drawing with zappy music over top, your including commentary on the story behind the drawing. This is excellent stuff, looking forward to more!

this is an amazing art piece, not just the drawing, the video, the long emotional and nostalgic story behind why and how you love the DOOM franchise, makes the final artwork, way more impactful, i can feel the emotion you wanted to portray of a strong, heavy, juggernaut of a monster, not just from the image but from you talking about it as well

What an awesome design. I inmediatly imagined a way to fit him in the story, like the demons tired of being constantly defeated created a replica to fight the doom guy. An epic mid or end boss fight.
I mean, I would be a HUGE fan of this.

Towards the beginning of the game, you get your ass handed to you and are nearly defeated… but Doom Guy always finds a way to win. You slay everything in your path and carry on.
The camera lingers on the spot where you previously lay, a pool of blood and spent shells on the floor. A small skittering robotic demon scuttles up to the puddle and brings forth a syringe and takes a sample of the blood and disappears into the darkness as Doom Slayer fights on in the background completely oblivious to the theft that just took place!
Several missions later and Doom Slayer is in some kind of arena, fighting wave after wave of enemies and finally a boss approaches! Doom Slayer makes quick work of this boss and plows ever onward, continuing his mission to eradicate evil! As he exits the arena we catch a glimpse of a slight shine.. a little sparkle deep in the darkness. We zoom in to see little robot demons skittering about with their robotic eyes glowing and focusing and we pass through the eye of one of the robots to see a room full of monitors. A demonic scientist watches replays of the arena battle intently and sets a program to analyze the combat moves and techniques. “Soon… my creation. Soon you shall meet your father, and bring his DOOM!”
Near the end of the game you defeat the final boss and as Doom Slayer begins to allow himself to rest, he hears loud thumping footsteps that shake the ground and maniacal cackling.
“Now is not the time to rest, Slayer. You can rest when you’re DEAD! Allow me to help you with that. Meet your death, your dark half, your better in every way. Doomslayer, meet your DOOMBRINGER! KILL HIM!”
And that’s when your character rips his cloak off and charges forward as the death metal soundtrack begins.

Doom 3 is what got me into the games. I spent so much time playing that game and playing online. I get the difference, now that I've played the new ones, but 3 was it for me.
It is an objective a good game! I just did not totally fit with the rest of the franchise. Still fun though!

I haven't subscribed because I haven't seen new videos in months and I don't happen across this channel often, but The doom bringer as you called him, is a beautiful concept. A demonic twin to the doom slayer, his equal but opposite reaction. The Yang to his yin. A demon who fights the same way as he does, both inspired in form and tactics by him, and simultaneously everything he hates. I love this concept and I have been wanting to see this in a doom game for a long time. I was born in the 90's and grew up with access to games and movies going all the way back to the fifties and even the roaring 20's. dad was a big fan of cowboys, soldiers, cops, and old fashion mafia gangsters. So I have an appreciation for monsters and creature design, but without the money to support artists like you, and the skills to compete with artists like you, I'll have to be content to cheer on from the boonies and slowly work on improving my stuff. Consider me freshly subscribed though I've been aware of your channel for two years.

You are a hero to me. Fallout and The Elder Scrolls were my “fell in love” games the same way Doom was for you. I never even realized how much I adored the designs of the creatures until now, but I do. If Fallout 5 ever happens (fingers crossed) I’d hope to see your name at the top of the credits.

Great video. And I will leave a small criticism:
You are drawing thin gray lines on a white background at 3:05.
This makes it kinda harder to see. Maybe you can play around with some settings to find a way to sketch, that is clearer on displays?
Maybe white on black background. Or giving it a black background frame as you did on some of the sketches that you posted on Instagram.

You're telling me your computer couldn't run an original doom game when people have gotten it to work on pregnancy tests, printers, and calculators powered by literal potatoes? That must not have been a very good computer then.
This was back in the early 90's! Computers were much weaker then...
I hate the fact that the DOOM Bringer is not canon in the Doom universe, he'd be much more of a rival and a threat to DOOMGUY than the Marauder
I love how I you made the armor Bio-organic and merged with his body.

I actually wanted to appreciate the art and story more than anything else in this video but here I am, still laughing about the fact that the computer couldn't run DOOM. we have DOOM on printers and pregnancy tests today but we didn't have DOOM 2 on computers in the past
I know, now Skyrim's getting released on watches and thermometers, I feel ancient.
I imagine the doomslayer will be able to transform into his demon form like torque on the suffering.

I’m curious, is the doom armor and fallout 3/4 combat armor influenced on eachother? I’ve noticed on f4 that the armor has the same arm set up and honestly looks very similar in its own way.

Honestly, I've never played ANY Doom game, I've played a grand total of THREE (maybe only two) video games in my life, for a number of different reasons which aren't relevant here; I just watch playthroughs of them.
