Good info. Use compressed air on a small make shift wand and blow the cowl out. Might get lucky and they exit the drain. At worst it puts them in the Hat area and next time the heater box/air inlet is ou you can go fish with fingers and magnets to find the dead ones. We normally us pliers and grab onto the ears that were stuck into the seal. But the ole screw diver does get the job done. 👌

Yeah, using one of those small extendable magnets works too. :)

Without the weather stripping wouldn't it act like a cowl hood and let air move out freely?

I suppose it could, but I don't know enough about the air flow and that location. It is nice have to have water dripping down my firewall after I give the car a wash. :)

I don't have anything new, and I won't do anything with it until it's time to get the car repainted. I'll likely have to cut that panel out and weld in a new fender, both sides. There's lots of other body work this car needs, so I figured I'd tackle it all at once. Plus, the colors are not Ford colors, I think I'm going to go with Wimbledon White and Gaurdsman Blue. :)

Love your car love your videos but can’t believe you do all that work without fender. Covers

It's how I keep everyone hooked on the channel!
But seriously, the paint is not that nice, and I need to repaint it, so it's not worth sweating over rubbing on them. But with that said, I've never really used fender covers in the 30 years I've been working on cars, I guess I've just been lucky with how careful I've been? :)

Nice simple project! What was it used for? Maintain airflow?

I think it's for water, but it could be for air flow. All I know is I was was tired of it hanging off the clips, so it was a cheap fix and a cheap video. :)

it keeps water from entering the cowl from the windshield wiper fluid tube inputs as well as having water run down the firewall and transmission

That will help when you get that electric power steering going. 🙂

      That's a bit of a stretch, but I'll take what I can get. :)
