bought the previous version of this laptop 5 years ago with 8th gen core i3 before covid for school. Still running just fine to this day. I noticed that the design is not even changed the slightest in the 5 years. Still the exact same.
@@thomasshelby6055 if you are planning to do light or medium programming and sql it is totally fine . I still use the laptop for jupyter notebook etc and run debian with windows dual boot mostly use debian tho. If you are planning to do heavy task then it will feel slow
@@thomasshelby6055 well depends on the config the i3 with windows will feel a bit slow, but it will get your job done, i use Debian on mine and do some programming on jupyter notebook etc. But my buddies at my university use cheap HP 15s, Ideapads ,etc(core i5 and above) to do all types of coding from database (sql, mongodb etc) to ML so it should do your tasks just fine .
This really isn’t such a bad little computer. Browses the web just fine, great for file management, and yes a fair amount of games work. Nothing groundbreaking but if you can get it for under $150 it’s great. Just wish it had more internal storage and more then 4gb of ram.

Should be able to run morrowind just fine then? First played it back in 2002 on og xbox. I've been wanting to play it for ages now, but my pc can't even run Steam for some reason.... Need a laptop for school and light gaming so the ideapad sounds perfect for me.

here’s the answer, people don’t or can’t spend a lot on chrome books or pcs, so they buy the cheaper option that gets the job done

If you want better fps change the TDP in the bios and put another 8gb stick, i managed to play doom eternal 60fps 720p with the same cpu

the FPS insn't the best because it's only one stick of ram , with dual channel rams the performance gets better
keyboard is supposed to have a backlight, its why I bought one. Fn spacebar

Yes you can, but for better gaming performance it should have at least 16GB ram. Just add one 8GB stick of ram and you good to go.

@@chinharryllagas8768 There is no such ram size like 6 GB. Its 4; 8; 16; 32 etc. If laptop has free SO-DIMM memory slot, then yes you can.
