@@PatrickSchafer-df1rj also I don't think the players are massively overhyped. Kane, Bellingham and foden could well be the best players in 3 leagues. Arguably. England's problem is cohesion, the players don't play often enough together or have a spine based from a few teams.

He was absolutely awful this season for AC making countless mistakes
Ac Milan conceded 49 goals this season in serie A which is criminal, for a team who came 2nd, are you sure you actually watched them? They were lucky the attack were so good otherwise wouldn’t have even got top 4

Problem was we went to him most of the time and I think he got a little tried, if we did the same with Saka too then it might be better. That is also why the deep balls from TAA are good, he came on and basically his first pass had Toney through on goal but for some reason he chose not to shoot. Chance just come quicker.

As a non-English person, it always amazes me how the English manage to appoint disappointing coaches. I'm in my 30s now and I remember it being like this since Sven Goran Erikson.
A football nation with such a huge name in football, unable to find a good coach from their own country or at least attract a good one from abroad.
They should for example go all-in for Ancelotti when he leaves Real Madrid. I feel like Ancelotti in front of a national team is perfect. He knows the balance of not overloading the players with instructions and thats perfect for international football, because you don't have much time to train. Southgate is more like a Lampard, OGS or Gerrard, who are completely out of their depth.

Calling Maddison overrated and limiting him to a good 10 games this past season is one of the stupidest things you've said. He got injured. He had surgery. He struggled when he came back. Should he be in the squad? No.
But to call him overrated after he's got 20/25 G/A every season for like 5 years in a row? Take your Chelsea hat off for one day, you'll stop looking like an idiot for those 5 seconds that you do.
To say that Gallagher scores more goals than Maddison is just bizarre. Gallagher has 20 league goals since being a PL player. Maddison has 44 in that same time frame. And this includes Gallagher's PL loan spells where he was playing in advanced position.

Southgate is finally doing what we’ve all been asking him to do, going against his former principles in picking his team of his players rather than form… and the players are playing worse. Have we been overhyping some of these English players? That front 4 of Kane, Gordon, Foden and Palmer was more than good enough to score multiple goals tonight Southgate couldn’t have done more and they just didn’t score. What did he need to do today? He subbed on Trent and it was a good move, in RB aswell against his preferences of Trent in midfield. Maybe I am the only who thinks this but I genuinely believe Harry Kane should be playing number 10 for England. He has lost a yard of pace but his link up play and passing is very good. Kane in the number 10 would add a serious goal threat from the 3 behind the number 9!
The key question would be who would actually be the number 9 then?? Great question and to be honest there isn’t a stand out candidate. It would have to be 1 from Solanke, Toney or Watkins. Now they are not the best. Solanke would add pace and a physical presence. He would also offer a threat in behind.
Kane in the number 9 role scores goals but the whole attacking unit never really fires in major tournaments. Kane, saka & Foden behind Solanke would actually be a unit that has everything. At the minute Kane comes too deep and England do struggle to fully fire.
    Bellingham would obviously drop deeper.
It’s only a thought but seriously would Kane offer more as a number 10??!!!
