Sorry Adam, United fans weren’t pissed at the news of interviews before the FA Cup. We were pissed at that price Jacob Steinberg saying her was going to be sacked no matter.
Will never forgive Shearer and Lineker for the utterly disgraceful disgusting interview after the FA Cup final victory with Erik. The amount of grace ten Hag has handled the awful English press is truly extraordinary. Now we move onto next season
He's manager of Manchester United and finished 8th. EIGHTH. Whether you wanted him to stay or not, how can you say he didnt deserve journalists asking him if he was losing his job?
@alexmetcalfe7419 it's not that simple. So what if he finished 8th? In his first season he finished 3rd with a trophy? Second season he had a huge injury crisis and hardly had central defenders fit at all. Besides compare his actual record with Pep or Klopp or Arteta in their first two seasons and you will find that it is not too different yet the media singled him out for relentless criticism.Eddie Howe was 4th last season he finished 7th.Was he pilloried in the same manner.
@@TendaiMatambanadzowith this logic, I could compare Mudryks season to Bergkamps first, and say he's doing really well. Ten Hag will never win the league, it's plain to see. Keep him!

The mental gymnastics by crofton to gaslight the united fans into that the negative stories helped united. No way is he a legit fan. Cover story to run hits
Turned it off right then. Journalists are so arrogant and show immense contempt for the everyday fan. Just cause we don’t follow the club for an actual living they feel they have a Devine right to condescend
They're mostly butt hurt that their wish didn't come true for Ten Hag to be fired so they can easily write more shitty stories about United's next manager
For the record most of united fans wanted ten hag to stay before the finals was won. Also trophies is a significant metric to judge a manager. Arteta miserably fails on that front
@@twowardrobeswardrobes1536 Ask yourself whether youd prefer a league cup and finishing 16th, or a top 4 finish and no cups. I think we both know the vast majority would prefer finishing higher up in the league in top 4 and champions league football the following season. Its also a more difficult achievement as the league itself is more difficult. anyone can get a lucky draw and run in cup football and win a one off final, happens all the time.
@@_Kid_Buu_ It’s heartbreaking that the PL era has eroded the enjoyment of football to such a degree that being third-best runner-up in the league is viewed by many as preferable to a big day out at a final and lifting a trophy. Those are the days that make football worth it.
@@twowardrobeswardrobes1536 I do agree that the cups should mean more like they used to. but due to the immense competition that the premier league is and the champions league beyond, the cups pale in comparison now. It's sad to see, i agree
David Ornstein talking sense. What a breath of fresh air. Instead of just spouting primary school student’s observations and analysis, he’s actually taking everything into account, not glossing over the bad, reminding people of the good and pointing out the complicated mitigating factors. Ten Hag staying isn’t a bad decision - it’s a complicated one that actually makes some sense if you’re willing to assess the whole picture.
29:31 - RIGHT THERE! Thank you David. People want to act like EtH forced them to spend that much on Antony,Hojlund and more. That responsibility falls on Murtough and those around him.
Exactly start of the season he says this player is available at an okay fee, we wait then panic then buy that player for a massive amount and he gets the blame
@@eh0659 they just love the agenda against United but its pathetic by people to say that. They could have easily shut those deals down and gone for cheaper options
@@mitchellbrough1615 Exactly this. Panic buying and poor planning. Then tighten the pockets the next season when no one wanted the club to overspend. Hopefully that stops this summer
@@GoogleMeFC people are gonna have to be prepared for us to have a seemingly disappointing transfer window this season if they actually want us to start being a serious club again
It wasn’t that long ago that Arteta, buoyed by academy players, finished 8th with an FA Cup win and despite the media having constant, brutal, never ending, borderline abusing criticism… he stayed in his job, he was allowed to recycle the squad, and you can now see the type of football he wanted to play. Last summer they built on that, they filled in the cracks with some huge signings and they took City to the last game. Stability, to allow a manager the time and resources to build a cohesive vision and style of play. That’s how you compete. Giving the manager time with the team to cement a vision that will win games, and then giving them more time and support to tighten the screws, develop the tactics for how to get around the counter strategies that are being used against that winning system. That’s how you get on City’s level. And if you want to beat City, you give the manager even more time and support, to recycle the squad effectively and keep your team at that high high level. If you don’t you get Klopp at Liverpool, falling off a cliff with an aging midfield and knackered defence. You get Pochettino, running his Spurs team into the ground, until they’ve got no more to give and give up.
David Ornstein is a proper journalist. Plays it straight down the middle. Never allows his likes or dislikes to prejudice the expression of his views. Adam Crofton …. No

Only Man United get an episode about keeping hold of a manager. There are so many hurt journalists that wanted Ten Hag out from day one and are borderline rascist and bully. They were watching for the first signs of weakness to strike and have disrespected him all season. Never allowed him one excuse while others are. I've seen a side to people that makes me question there motives, honesty and integrity.
@@mkinglbcs1302haha do you know what racism is? It’s about people race… not colour. The English media is very racist and the fans are getting sick of it!
INEOS are perfectly entitled to question whether they have the best available manager in the job. They need to be sufficiently enamoured with ETH to stick with him through any difficulties early next season. And they need to extend his contract to let the players know he’s going to be around for a long time and there is no choice but to do things the ETH way. On the previous occasion that United played a cup final on 25th May they beat Leicester 3-1 in 1963 having finished 19th in a 22 team first division. That team included Law,Charlton and Crearnd and the managers competence was seriously questioned That manager went on to win two league titles and become the first English team to win the European Cup in the following five years. . Yes. Even the great Matt Busby had a very poor season and without the injuries ETH has had to deal with. ETH certainly deserves the chance to build on a trophy in each of his first two seasons. No other United manager in history has achieved that.
I completely agree: they are well within their rights to make an assessment when they’re coming in new. Ultimately they cane to the correct decision (in my opinion). This process wouldn’t have been much of an issue if it wasn’t Manchester United, the media made it bonkers
Adam craftons views and disrespect towards ten hag is a joke not once has he mentioned injuries or what the clubs transitioning stage. And thats what seperates him from david as he explained his view clearly taking everything into consideration. People forget man city lost rodri for 3 matches and lost all 3 . Imagining having to go through 30 different combos of the backline, have 1 striker and then trying to integrate a new goalkeeper that had different center backs every week. Also newcastle came 4th last season but due to injuries like united came 7th no one is questioning that
This is absolutely the correct decision. It doesn't mean he's guaranteed to succeed, it doesn't mean we won't be having these discussions in a year's time. BUT I've been saying it for ages that the technical structure behind the manager is NOT clear at all right now. We think Dan Ashworth will be there, we know Jason Wilcox and Omar Berrada are in the other 2 key positions, but the structure the responsibilities how it will work we don't know at all. The model is NOT CLEAR. Bringing in a new manager would be idiotic, because they would struggle in the same messy soup every single manager before Ten Hag has struggled in and just end up failing anyways. For once the onus MUST BE on clearing out the squad and improving the quality of players present. For once Ten Hag will have at least some help in Wilcox and Berrada to some degree in signing players, hopefully they'll hold him to account on not just signing former Ten Hag players and he'll hold them to account on not just going for random marquee signings to make a statement. Plus pretty much every other big club has just hired a new manager, the chances are they're not ALL going to be looking for new managers next summer IF United are anyways. This is the best option. The club and Ten Hag now need to be extremely clear on the playing style they want to have, and the targets for next season and both parties need to be clear that if those aren't met we will make a change. In my opinion that target has to be top 4 at a bare minimum and clear progression in the playing style so that regardless of whether we play transition football or possession football or a low block we're at least CONTROLLING games a lot better than we did this season.
Playing style will come when the manager has players he can implement the playing style with. Now he doesn't have those players for the required positions. He is now finding out ways to win games with the team he has rather than the team he wants. Arsenal cleared all dead weight and got the players arteta wanted and they are now reaping the benefits. They have a clear playing style.
@@sandipbarmannrs 100% agreed. I think it was partly Ten Hag's fault since he persisted with playing this ultra aggressive style in the beginning of the season when we started to get so many injuries. I think he thought players would come back soon so he didn't want to go back to being 'pragmatic' lets say and playing like we did last season so thought look I'll persist until they're back. But then of course the injuries got even worse and then he was stuck between a rock and a hard place and we were too far gone to change. I do lay some blame at his door BUT for sure this squad and the recruitment is just nowhere near good enough, and those things are much bigger problems then Ten Hag. He deserves more time and patience, I'm glad he's got it.
id pay an overpriced ticket to see all the journalists that harassed Ten Hag the moment they found out that their agenda was all for nothing . They might have lost all respect at this industry and some of them won't recover from this !!! They acted very bad during the whole process and now they will try so many things to make it look like Ineos made a mistake !!!! Media and Player power is over !!! GGMU
I think the FA Cup makes this season better than some of the Ole seasons. People forget that Utd hadn’t won a trophy for 5 years before ten hag got here.
I like Adam Crafton, but he's being an absolute spanner on this episode. He needs to get one thing straight: Man Utd DO NOT NEED TO JUSTIFY ANY OF THE DECISIONS THEY MAKE TO THE MEDIA. INEOS haven't attempted to convey anything remotely close to the extent Crafton seems to be insinuating, at any point. SJR was very clear in the interviews about conducting a very detailed end of season review about everything happening at Utd, including staffing. That includes the manager. EtH is neither stupid nor disingenuous. He would've been more than aware that there was a chance he'd be replaced and that the club was talking to other candidates, because Utd have had a poor season. After conducting said review, INEOS decided to continue with EtH (for a multitude of reasons). Once you decide to continue with a manager, he will have his own demands too. That's the easiest and best faith argument one can make for the signing of any new contract. For Crafton to state that this is being done to suggest Utd were always behind ten Hag is deluded. It's also complete gaslighting and absolute bollocks to make it seem like the bloodthirsty English media baying for ten Hag's blood somehow contributed to Utd's success in the FA Cup final We won the final because all the players showed up and ten Hag got his tactics spot on! Ten has has exuded nothing but class in the way he's dealt with vultures in the media and Crafton should issue an apology for this drivel if he's really a Utd fan, as has been indicated in the past.
Why is the focus always on the Manager's role at United. The hue and cry over the spend on players is a systemic failure at Unitedand its not peculiar to ETH's reign . The medical debacle is barely mentioned in this conversation. United is work in progress and focus should be on the support system at the club. Why do we always imagine that the 18 month process on sale/ part sale of the club has no impact on the club and performances?
where they finished isn't the point, it's the absolute beltings they took. When united were poor, the players walked around and looked disinterested. There was no team spirit. When arsenal were losing they still had pride and a playstyle
@@Tasmanaut Arsenal were in a much deeper freefall - less money to spend, poorer squad with less value (literally had to pay players to leave), NO style - what Emery was famous at us for was 'adaptable' tactics, and no clear direction of travel up. Ten Hag I'm glad was offered an extension, he's done well with the shitshow around him, but let's not pretend that we somehow had pride and a playstyle - we had neither, you need to time to instil that
I am happy that it will not be bloody Gareth Southgate, because I would've lost my mind all the way over here in Canada. I never, ever want to see Southgate manage Manchester United, because I don't think he's good enough. He needs to stay far away from Manchester United if he knows what's good for him.
@@samd3046 I cannot see Manchester United ever deciding to bring the failure Gareth Southgate to the club. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Great chat, Cheers. Congrats to Ten Hag. That FA Cup victory was Awesome, season ended with a mighty(under pressure) victory & Euro football next season. Any manager who beats Man City in such a match deserves to be given further to build a stronger/ better Man Utd.
Under Ole United played great...but haven't won nothing...oh...united need silverwear Now United wins every year but plays terrible..oh united need to play good football... silverwear does not matter... Hated, adored, never ignored
You’ve not won a league in over 10 years and haven’t been to a CL semi final since Fergie either. You’ll win the odd domestic cup but you’re NEVER getting near a title or CL again with this manager 😂😂😂😂
The easy/logical answer: They saw what he was able to do with a mostly inherited team with minimal injuries, so to judge his performance with an overwhelming amount of injuries to FIRST TEAM PLAYERS and countless shit decisions that went against United this season is stupid. Even THEN he won silverware. Every time we won this season it was Ten Hag's doing, to be fair there were some bad substitutions in hindsight but he won us games that a lot of seasoned managers wouldn't have been able to lead us through. Maybe he's not as good as Ancelotti and Pep, but he's miles from a bad manager, and he's weathered dressing room mutiny at United(Which is more representative of Man United's culture in recent history than winning) than Mourinho did. He WILL have a league title before he leaves United.
The new owners wanted the best coach in their opinion. After interviewing all the managers they were interested in, they decided that Ten Hag was their choice.
It was the way EtH won the FA Cup and the team still playing for him. But even before the FA Cup win, fans couldn't see a better option and didn't want him sacked. INEOS were thorough and I doubt ten Hag will feel undermined because they went out and looked at options.
As far as with the delay to confirm EtH as manager, due to having NEW owners, they should be given some leniency IF they relayed to him prior of the steps in the review process. Which makes sense to assume that they did.
Is that because you don't like Craftons views? Lots of what he said is factual, so this is a really strange comment. Feels like this might not be a bot account.
45M plus Harry Maguire seems like a win-win situation for Branthwaite. Kayode is a great prospect. Dorgu is also interesting although I think he might be in his 20’s not actually 19. In my humble opinion the ideal Casemiro replacement is Edson Alvarez. He’s familiar with Ten Hag system and has won trophies with him. He’s adapted spectacularly to the premier league at WestHam. He’s also plays multiple positions making him a value asset. Just my humble million dollar advice.
I love how upset all the Utd fans are in the comments, calling Adam unprofessional etc when it's just that they dislike his views, many of which are factual.
It’s about time people like Adam Crafton backed up their stories. He is doubling down on unsubstantiated claims and he was the one of those going about EtH being sacked. Wrong. I guess Ineos (and us all) are learning who they can trust.
I rather us remain with Ten Hag than to have Poch or, Tuchel, furthermore, Southgate... I'm willing to give him more time based on the fact that he won us two trophies in consecutive seasons.. And i looked also on how our defense performed against City in the fa cup final, it was almost impenetrable, why? Because of the return of Varane and Martinez.. And then i began to rewatch our good moments throughout the season, and I have to admit that some of the goals we scored were creatively constructed, then i began to reconsider, just maybe if he should get all the players he needs, we would eventually become formidable competitors once again, i don't know, but I'm willing to give him more time.. For the club to return to our high standards, all depends on these owners..
Remember Onana's poor start of the season also costed the team the champions league early exit... so when he gets the players..am sure he will deliver. Though he would have kept Varane for one more season!
Believe it or not. Even rival fans were thinking the united board can’t be stupid enough to sack Eric. He is doing good work at United and only the media was hyping this news.
I think changing manager right now would have sent the wrong message to the current squad. We can't have players dictating a manager's fate like a lot of the current squad have.
Simply put no one better was available. United have a project and they need to take a patient approach when re-building this club. I am not sure if the fans are up for a youth movement and a culture reset at the club. But maybe I am wrong. Ineos are doing a KSE type rebuild that Arteta's Arsenal has completed.
Adam Crafton saying United have a £50mill budget then saying we might pay £70mill for Branthwaite “and there won’t be much left” the math ain’t mathing bruh
Fair play to Ornstein, ETH is the the 2nd most successful manager in the current PL after Pep & he’s only been in the league for 2years, 3 finals & 2cups
Got knocked out of an incredibly easy CL group and finished the league season on negative goal difference LMAO the standards of your club has dropped so far it’s hilarious to witness
The problem that INEOS' involvement with Man United has created for writers and commentators of football is that those writers now have to pretend like they know how a major organisation with massive experience in the management of global sporting success is going to behave. And shit... they are getting it really, badly, wrong. They were completely wrong about the takeover, when it should have been fairly obvious that Sheik Jassim's bid couldn't work and the only way that a takeover could occur would be by incrementally acquiring blocks of public and private shares over time. I tried to explain that at the time, to an "ITK" Twitter hack (who was doing an awful lot of Qatari water carrying at the time), who told me that I was an idiot and that Jassim's bid was already approved, and an announcement would be happening within days... He clearly had no idea AT ALL what he was talking about, but told fans what they wanted to hear, and apparently that's what makes you a "reliable" journalist these days. Now they have to back track on their assumptions that United would behave under INEOS in the way that they have behaved under the Glazers, and spin it that they "should have been right", but United somehow rug-pulled them. There has been no mention by these "Experts" that the delay may have come on Ten Hag's part. He was given a transfer veto when he signed his contract, and INEOS will need that to go. If he decided that he wasn't willing to give up that condition, then he had every right to say "Sorry, but no, that's not the agreement we made when I joined. I'd rather go somewhere else.". Every suggestion about United talking to other managers has assumed that its because they were going to sack him rather than the very real possibility that, even if they said "We'd like you to stay, but we need the recruitment to be done differently." he might decide that he didn't want to work within a different structure to the one he agreed to. In that situation, where discussions are ongoing in a bid to overcome that stumbling block, it would be negligent and frankly stupid to NOT look at alternatives in case the outcome be that Ten Hag leaves. But that wouldn't generate enough clicks for lazy hacks and their employers, so any semblance of "balanced reporting" flies out of the window in favour of "Engagement". Now its all about backtracking and the suggestion that United "misled" them.
Let's get something straight, most United fans would rather have ten Hag as manager over Arteta... when you understand that, you'll understand why we're happy with INEOS rehiring him.
It's really confusing when you're watching this video of wall to wall adverts to have the flow of adverts broken up every 5 or 10 minutes to watch 4 blokes talking about a football manager for 30 seconds before going back to another advert. This is a 40 minute video and I only saw 487 adverts. That's not nearly enough.
I don’t think it was unreasonable to approach other candidates as long as he was in the know and eventually they realised he was already the best option. Hopefully it galvanises Ten Haag and the team
the english media can't believe that Ten Hag retained his job. They are always trying to find reasons to pull him down. The way other managers are treated is totally opposite to the way Ten Hag is treated. Arteta, Klopp had worst season during their time but there was never this much speculation about them being sacked. And they think the fans are pissed ? during the whole season I haven't seen a single pole where fans are saying they want ETH out. But its too much for these guys to digest. Everyone knows that Man U's downfall has more to do than manager, lazy players, bad sporting strcuture, poor scouting and what not. I loved United's decision and can't wait to see these biased journalist's reaction to this. I am confident that Man U will do great if we stick to the process and kick the spoiled players out and get commited players.
That Martinez comment was ridiculous! We are dependent on him yes, just as Liverpool fell apart last season when vvd missed most of the season and only solidified when he returned, just like City fell apart when Rodri was banned for 3 games!! He’s also not injury prone, last season he was available until the freak injury, rush back for the start of the season then re injured the same injury. Then Coufal put in a horrific challenge on him which buckled his knee. Like none of his injuries are symptomatic of an injury prone player. Coufal literally jumped on his knee while it was planted at an angle, that would’ve destroyed anyone
Maybe they informed ETH that they are going to interview candidates for the manager position as part of the review. And they told him that they would want to interview him too just to make sure he meets their expectations hence the new contract. So it was set out that whoever was to get the position will be given a 3 yr contract.
Adam Crafton claiming that the media were targeted for highlighting Manchester United were talking to other managers. FALSE! They were targeted because Jacob Steinberg of The Guardian stated, with 100% certainty, that Ten Hag was to be sacked, no matter the result in the final. That story even influenced broadcast teams to suggest to Ten Hag himself, that he was being sacked pre and post-game, at an FA Cup final. A disgrace to journalism, which is some feat in itself!
Easier answer 1) Injuries 2) There is no clear replacement a) Tuchel has had personality issues wherever he has been. b) De Zerbi 2nd season at Brighton was a step back. With huge defensive woes. c) Poch hasn't won a single trophy and equally poor season at Chelsea. d) McKenna isn't ready for that step. e) Southgate would cause a riot at Old Trafford gates. Note - If De Zerbi had another great season at Brighton or if Tuchel had won the UCL with Bayern, I think ETH would be gone.
I agree David. Tbh I was thinking this ineos looks like glazers 2.0. But when you think about the investment they have made and they’ve taking over the sporting role (inside the club) this is going to be their first proper season and they want to get it right. Just me as a United fan ain’t use to this with having the glazers in charge. Totally understand the way they (ineos) have gone about it
Adam, as a United Fan... You don't get me at all. You made no mention of the injuries as a mitigating factor. What about the fact the everyone is comparing EtH to Arteta but so many Arsenal fans were calling for Arteta to be sacked at this stage in his managerial career at Arsenal. Arteta sucked in the beginning and had to drop some big personalities to get the dressing room right. He was given time. I only want EtH given the same. I back EtH. The only thing I agree with is that the club handled the whole thing very poorly but that's in the past now. I never wanted EtH sacked because I don't want to have to go through the cycle of hiring another manager and starting a new project where the team is assessed again...
To suggest that arteta is in a better position to win trophies next year is a consequence of his managerial aptitude and not because of half a billion spend is lazy journalism.
46 minutes to say: 1. cos United don't want to pay the sacking fee of £10m+ and 2. cos it's actually the smart choice considering the shit United have put their fans through since Fergie left.. a little bit of continuity with someone who looks like they know what they're doing might not be a bad thing
The Arteta comments are just bizarre. So he’s done better than Arteta on the first two years, but he’s not where Arteta is after five years? Makes no sense
Easy answer: the owners agree with ETH that MUFC is a project. That means, they will try to build up squad in the next three years that will hopefully be a challenger for the title in 2028 or 2029. Honestly I think he will be gone by November, if the performance is similar like before.
IMO it’s not accurate to say ETH did not lead to the transfer prices on the players. If the execs were indeed in full control, they would have walked away or have a ceiling for what to pay. If the fee cannot be agreed, then it’s a no deal and then tell ETH he just has to find other solutions or settle for another target that fits the budget.
The "we don't judge managers on trophies" is absolutely diabolical and stupid take. What? Football IS about the trophies, otherwise you should sack the likes of Anchelotti. That youngster lost the plot completely
I wish people would stop saying "Man Uniteds worst season", a) its factually not, and b) the league isnt the entire season. Winning the FA Cup isnt nothing, having another FA cup under the belt against City was the most enjoyment ive had as a United fan for an absolute age. Even in the midst of the shit football and completely eaten up defense during the league season there were young up and comers to get excited about. Theres a reason its complete bullshit that the majority of United fans wanted him to stay BEFORE the FA Cup final and theres a reason the vast majority of the english media wanted him out from early on. These guys are in the pockets of players at the club undermining authority. Journalism is completely fucked
Fergie took 4 seasons to win his first trophy, ironically the FA Cup. ETH has won 2 trophies in 3 finals, all after inheriting a team and club in meltdown, against a massively dominant City in the most competitive league ever. We, the fans, knew root and branch changes were needed and it would take many seasons to get us back where we need to be. Meanwhile the Media are intent to continue the chaos and managerial roundabout. The fans never wanted ETH gone. The process continues.
The guy's spent over 400 million - ole came second, now they are miles away from being a top 4 team, could take years and years to come 4th again, let alone challenge
whats funny is the supporters who go to matches and spend money on united support eth to the tune of 85% but the journo trade seems to have a view on our club much more than what counts the most which is the fan base. so much over analysis non sense goes on when it comes to united. How can a football journo ask if the UEFA multi club thing has been resolved and are united allowed to play in europa league. girona and city are playing in cl for christ sake and majority owned by city group. but nothing on that but let's stir the pot on united and nice. It was never an issue.
Radio silence 😂 Jim told him to go an have a well deserved holiday for the shit he had to deal with an ETH was told he’s going nowhere.😂😂😂😂👍 Outers 🖕🖕🖕🖕
The chaos created by the media with regards to ten Hag’s job somewhat helped UTD in the FA Cup final? Is Crafton for real? What are these journalists on about? Bizarre!

Spot on. Some of these media types should be made to sit and listen to their own waffle from 3-4 years ago.

That team included Law,Charlton and Crearnd and the managers competence was seriously questioned
That manager went on to win two league titles and become the first English team to win the European Cup in the following five years. .
Yes. Even the great Matt Busby had a very poor season and without the injuries ETH has had to deal with.
ETH certainly deserves the chance to build on a trophy in each of his first two seasons. No other United manager in history has achieved that.

Exactly! Cannot believe I heard that... absolutely crazy that sentence can leave your mouth and you not realise how silly you sound...

Bruh. Finishing 8th in the was pretty bad but even without the fa cup win, he could've stayed imo.

There were a lot of viable alternatives - Ineos have proper side-stepped the media on this one.

💯%
Let's get something straight, most United fans would rather have ten Hag as manager over Arteta... when you understand that, you'll understand why we're happy with INEOS rehiring him.
It's really confusing when you're watching this video of wall to wall adverts to have the flow of adverts broken up every 5 or 10 minutes to watch 4 blokes talking about a football manager for 30 seconds before going back to another advert. This is a 40 minute video and I only saw 487 adverts. That's not nearly enough.
Malacia coming back will be a plus
I don’t think it was unreasonable to approach other candidates as long as he was in the know and eventually they realised he was already the best option. Hopefully it galvanises Ten Haag and the team
Every year you journalists say United have a budget of £50mill or less and every year we spend £150-200mill. We’ll spend £200mill again this summer.
High level creative storytelling
the english media can't believe that Ten Hag retained his job. They are always trying to find reasons to pull him down.
Easier answer 1) Injuries 2) There is no clear replacement
a) Tuchel has had personality issues wherever he has been.
b) De Zerbi 2nd season at Brighton was a step back.
And that he's had three and a half seasons to get into that position.
46 minutes to say: 1. cos United don't want to pay the sacking fee of £10m+ and 2. cos it's actually the smart choice considering the shit United have put their fans through since Fergie left.. a little bit of continuity with someone who looks like they know what they're doing might not be a bad thing
Cheers saved me the time😂
The Arteta comments are just bizarre. So he’s done better than Arteta on the first two years, but he’s not where Arteta is after five years? Makes no sense
What are you smoking? TH has not had 5 years! Why don't you compare him with Arteta after 5 years?
I’m saying ETH at 2 years was better than Arteta at 2 years. That’s all that can be compared.
None of them talking abt injuries.
Shows how neutral journalists in uk media
Acknowledging ETH’s FA cup…….Ignoring Arteta’s FA cup….
Ignoring arteta went 8th back to back season
Can anyone tell me. Why the hell is Thomas Frank in the list? 🤣
The "we don't judge managers on trophies" is absolutely diabolical and stupid take. What? Football IS about the trophies, otherwise you should sack the likes of Anchelotti. That youngster lost the plot completely
This Mark guy just said trophies are not a measure of success in football🤣 The English Media has truly lost it
I wish people would stop saying "Man Uniteds worst season", a) its factually not, and b) the league isnt the entire season.
Of the candidates available, Ten Hag was still the best.
I like The Athletic but their videos are borderline unwatchable due to an advert every 90 seconds
Winning trophies is quite literally a measure of success
whats funny is the supporters who go to matches and spend money on united support eth to the tune of 85% but the journo trade seems to have a view on our club much more than what counts the most which is the fan base. so much over analysis non sense goes on when it comes to united. How can a football journo ask if the UEFA multi club thing has been resolved and are united allowed to play in europa league. girona and city are playing in cl for christ sake and majority owned by city group. but nothing on that but let's stir the pot on united and nice. It was never an issue.
Don’t forget he was counting on having Greenwood back before the turnaround
Ornstein is class
Radio silence 😂 Jim told him to go an have a well deserved holiday for the shit he had to deal with an ETH was told he’s going nowhere.😂😂😂😂👍 Outers 🖕🖕🖕🖕
The chaos created by the media with regards to ten Hag’s job somewhat helped UTD in the FA Cup final? Is Crafton for real? What are these journalists on about? Bizarre!
