- I love you so much. My big brother Toby crossed over to the other side last night. All my fondest memories are of him and the band that we created. The most talented musician I have ever had the honor to make music with. There will never be another like you Toby. Your light will shine on eternally. Thank you for making mine and everyone's life so bright. I celebrate your love and life! Rest in Love. Your bald brother Stu x

I met the wonderfully talented Toby smith in 2015 when I bought a vintage e type Jaguar from him, I had no idea when dealing with him over the phone who exactly he was and it wasn’t until I got to his house and met him in person that I knew that it was one of the most amazing talents of the 90,s, he was so chilled and down to earth even though he been dealt this terrible hand ! Rest In Peace Toby 👍🏻👍🏻 the etype is now finished and my prize possession 👍🏻👍🏻

Just heard about his passing recently and am very saddened by it. Saw the band a couple of times live between 93 and 01... and each show had those great melodic moments that only he could deliver.
Jay has the voice and entertainment skills but Toby brought the magic to the entire sound.
And yes: I am one of those who loved the original line-up the most.
So ...props to you, Stuart, for bringing some serious funk to the table. And posting this lovely video.
An actual cold shower :( he was truly awesome. I could listen to him performing for solid hours. He made me fall in love with the sound of Rhodes pianos. Such smooth and warm melodies! Bless his funky soul.
I met Toby and their drummer Derrick at Jays house in Buckinghamshire about 15 years ago in Jays studio.

Veranek lo sé, pero en los últimos 2 que grabó su sonido ya no tuvo tanto protagonismo a excepción de las letras. Por lo que su esencia, estaba en los primeros albums
Espero que por su legado el grupo Jamiroquai haga un homenaje para el.

When I heard the sad news I immediately thought about the Mr Moon solo. RIP Toby a genius, enormous talent without whom the world would have never experienced the joy of Jamiroquai. 😢
Very shocked at this very sad news!! How sad :( I've been a fan since 1992 and fell in love with Jays voice and the music :) I also had a jamiroquai tattoo 11 years ago complete with buffalo man as I loved them so much! It was sad when Toby left after 20 years as he was a massive part of the group, very talented indeed! Rip Toby - Shine on Mr Moon xx

I love his musicality, and Zender's too.. the best bassist I've ever heard along with Jaco.... and I discovered not too long ago that I was born the same day as Toby, on October 29th. :-D

Toby Smith got me into playing Keyboards in the 90s. I met him at the Newcastle Mayfair during the Space Cowboy tour. He was so helpful and advised me about what Keyboards to buy. So I bought a Fender Roads electric piano (a big part of the Jamiroquai sound) and a roland sh09. I met him a couple of times after that and he was such a gentleman. We would talk about synths and old jazz funk records. He was in my opinion a greater player than guys like Herbie Hancock. Absolutely incredible. It was an honour to meet my hero. Rip my fellow Fender Bender (his words to describe me). God bless you friend. X
No Herbie Hancock's "Headhunters", no Jamiroquai. Herbie along with Duke created the style. He's a genius. Peace and RIP Toby Smith.

Those Jamiroquai years have meant so much to so many of us....Toby spent some time talking to me one night after a show, space cowboy tour. Other band members too, but he was so kind and curious about everything. I was just a fan, but he talked to me like a friend. He radiated light and goodness. Peace to you Toby.

Mr. Smith was so integral to the sound of Jamiroquai that he simply disappeared into the music. The stars were aligned when Mr. Smith and Mr. Zender connected. What a terrible loss to the world of music.

Damn, that brother was one of the keyboardists who helped define my generation and also one of my personal favorites. He was definitely the rock of Jamiroquai during the entire 90s decade in which the band put out their most career-defining work. Can't believe this is the first time I've heard of his passing back in April, man we're still losing good people left-and-right in wake of what went down back in 2016:::sigh:::
