I was hoping you would mention this part. The final rush of horses, everyone screaming, and Zeke's remark: "All that screaming. What good is it going to do you?" Then, seeing Levi in the air, Zeke does the same-he screams. And it doesn't help him at all! I love that part.
I love how both the screaming and the smoke grenades were instrumental for letting Levi kill half the titans without him noticing, and he never saw it coming, and thought they were just crazy.
To be honest there weren't any bad episodes, there were some slow ones for sure, but all of them served a purpose one way or another. Amazing that this show has every episode rated 8.0 or higher on IMDB.
This anime should be a template for future ones. They didn’t waste a single second of our time. Every scene served a purpose from beginning to end. This is a 100% fact cuz in the 3 times I watched from beginning to end I never felt the need to pick up my phone.
20:14 Funfact : In the manga the scene cuts at the titans charging at Levi and people didn't know his fate for 7 MONTHS until he appears again sliding on the wall chasing Pieck/Zeke which just happens next episode but anime viewers never had any doubt he may have died
@@ArDeeMee If I remember correctly, manga readers were even wondering whether Levi had enough gas/blades which is why I assume they added Levi's dance with the titan to make the viewers not worry about him (it was gonna be a week worth of wait so not much anyways lmao)
Huh, I didnt remember that. I haven't read that part in 8 years now I think. Didn't know the scenes were re-structured for the anime like the first part of Season 3 was.
And as a small detail, Korotos, the narration actually stops because of Armin being literally cooked to a crisp by Bertholdt. Which is an awesome detail by Isayama to tell you he is the narrator, ever since S1 and the narration of "To You, in 2000 Years: The Fall of Shiganshina, Part 1", Armin had literally remained the narrator throughout the story, which, is an awesome detail Isayama added for a character.
I felt the reason Marlo is wondering why he is “all the way out here” was because he finally realised he should have stayed an MP instead of dying meaninglessly thinking he could do something grand.
"Hey korotos ,I’ve been following your Attack on Titan over-analysis videos, and I’m truly impressed by the level of detail and thought you put into them. My headcanon for why Eren was surprised when he fell, is that he did legit slip. So the plan had to go off like 30 seconds sooner than he expected. My evidence. None. I just find it kinda funny of them needing to spring the plan after a minor mess up.
I always felt like reineirs brief amnesia around 24:35 actually makes perfect sense. The way I look at it, his brain in his human form is being reconstructed after having his head blown off so it makes sense to me he wouldn't be able to think clearly. Since at that point he's back to being a barely reconstructed human controlling his titan.
It really is a contrast between Erwin and Armin that should drive home who deserved to survive and why. One was fighting for everyone who had died, to give meaning and purpose to all those sacrifices. The other was fighting for everyone who was still alive, hoping for the day when no more sacrifices would be needed.
To me, the reused animation is just a show that his form is so consistent that we wouldn't notice anyway. Zeke has to tell us when he's doing something different.
Something I noticed from the moment I began watching this series, is that it’s clear you edit your own videos. Them come across as “complete” if that makes sense, like you got the episode to look and sound the way you wanted it too. I can almost feel the time and effort you put into these videos, and your passion for the series. It’s like art in a sense. Well done, and you made me rewatch AoT in 4 days 😭
So regarding "the ground" comment @ 16:42, or more specifically "they also forgot trees..." Remember, Zeke purposefully positioned himself somewhere the scouts wouldn't have any large trees or buildings to use their ODM gear. And consequently, that lack of trees was a primary factor in Erwin making the decision to lead the recruits on that last charge. Ultimately, they needed a realistic way to distract Zeke while Levi used his own Titans to close the distance.
Oh, I think you misunderstood me, I didn't mean the trees around Zeke (as you say, there were no trees around Zeke), I meant the trees by the wall itself. Right alongside the buildings, there's a whole bunch of trees that just aren't there in the backgrounds of the Zeke scene 😄 The flare smoke obstructs our view most of the time (because we're not mean to look there lmao), but if you really look closely, the background is just the plain wall and that's it.

I always appreciated Zeke's philosophy being explored because it's what I consider to be the most damaging and least helpful end result of where my own personal journey could've ended up, and find it just fascinating exploring a character who gave in to that feeling of hopelessness and despair that comes from living. In my heart I truly believe even if most of life is suffering, the quality of that positivity, connections and joy outweighs the suffering and makes it worth pushing forward
I put all my bets on Armin way back in season one, episode 5. He was and has been my favorite character of the series. I was absolutely devastated when this episode aired. I think zeke's funny baseball mode is a bit more than just.. Funny mode.. It's in fact his coping mechanism. Like ksaver said, he's a decent person, he doesn't care for war game. The only reason he plays his role is so he can save everyone (and yes I'm a zeke stan). Zeke doesn't want to do it, he has to. He hates seeing others die, even if it's for the greater good. He just had to make himself get more fun out of it to be able to do it. He's using his favorite sport/thing in his life to cope with the fact he's doing something he doesn't want to. Besides that he's constantly reminding himself he's doing it for the sake of everyone. As he later says in s4e1 he truly thinks war is a terrible thing
None of the destruction he causes is even slightly helpful for the euthanasia plan. He could have just walked around until finding Eren in town somewhere, killed him without touching him, eaten his spine, and done the euthanasia. (which is not at odds with the vow so would work fine). Could have done this prior to this episode, even.
Love your work. Amazing work seriously! One thing that is so cool when Levi is questioning Zeke there’s symmetry in Levi telling Zeke it’s impolite not to answer a question. That’s the same thing Zeke said to Miche. However now he is the powerless one?👨🏾🍳
5:02 like when Zeke got out of practice early and told Grisha wanting to play baseball, but Grisha responded: “Great! Looks like we have more time for studying!”
Actually, from a physics standpoint. Perhaps a considerable amount of the extreme pressure Berthold creates is creating an upwards current of turbulence that flattens armin's falling trajectory so instead of a hard parabola directly against the ground in which his velocity of impact was a guaranteed death at 124 km/h falling from 60 meters (taking only vertical acceleration into account of aproximated 10 meters/second^2). Instead lets say Armin falls inside the range of "survivable chance of survival" for an impact speed of 45 km/h (40% survival chance and noting that when dying there is range for a non instant death so he has time to be transformed into a titan). With that said, to create those conditions (45km/h final impact speed divided by 3,6 gives 12,5 meters/second) the accelerational gravity must be met with an oposing force (turbulences bouncing against the giant wall) making the acceleration be dictated by the next formulae: (12,5 meters/s)^2/60 meters x 2 = acceleration the resultant aproximated acceleration to facilitate a chance at survival is of around 1,3 meters/second squared. from here you could go into simulations of turbulence to calculate the output of air and temperature needed but I guess its way too much overkill at this point.
Oh, and also also, it matters wether he fell onto a compliant surface or not. If he fell on the hard ground most of the kinetic energy gets absorved back by his body (45km/h again), but if he fell onto something less rigid (lets say rooftop tiles of a nearby house he fell on after bouncing off the wall) then because some of the energy is spent breaking the rooftop tiles and bending the wooden supports underneath then his final speed could be slightly higher with the same chances of survival. This enters collision physics domain which I don't remember any of appart that it would go into a more elastic collision.
He's actually the hero on the side of the world, the world outside of marley, the background civilians, whether it's Eldian, marleyan or any other nationality/race. He's fighting for their freedom The "enemy" in this case is marley, who in fact want the founder to gain more power. Bertholdt, Reiner and pieck could be the heroes for them, but zeke does not align with any of them.
here a little neat detail, the title use the word 勇者(yuusha) means hero but also can be translated into "the brave". tied it perfectly into eren last sentence in episode telling armin is the bravest one
In Italian dub Marco says “why am I thinking about it right now?” Implying that he is thinking about hitch’s situation while he is basically dying in 2 seconds. His last thought isn’t about his life, it’s about her. Nice touch if I have to say.
even after watching this series so many times, i enjoy watching this breakdown honestly. it’s an anime that lives deep in my heart so i appreciate that you continuing to make these

Really enjoy the new format here, cutting with your reaction really adds to the humor/dread. My boy Armin is so underrated. He's really is the definition of selfless despite it all. That is a feat not anyone can do because it is much harder to protect than attack. He fights for the future and that's why he's the hope of this entire show.
For Trost my headcannon is he can steam his bones, he just cant control it once he does, so its an all or nothing thing at that point, which is why he never uses it while wanting to remain a titan
These videos mean so much to me and my nightly routine. Really appreciate the content man! Hope you can continue posting these AOT breakdowns consistently, that'd be amazing.
The sound i had when i saw my favorite overanalyze channel post the episode I've been waiting for years. Next episode I'm looking forward is Eren telling Reiner he's just like him in Marley before killing everyone. I'll still watch every episode inbetween of course
hey, i usually don't have anything to say, but i've been following this series for a while and i'm thankful that you took a bit of time to show some understanding for bertholdt. he's an easy character to dismiss because he's an antagonist who's character development is so paltry in amount that the profoundness of it gets overlooked. i really believe that he's a diamond in the rough; and thanks to you, maybe others will see it, too.
the one thing that i dont like from the charge scene is that nobody in the scouts except for floch stayed low to their horses. erwin made the point of having a smoke screen to decrease his accuracy but didnt mention that making yourself a smaller target would increase your odds of survival and the one person we see doing it actually did survive
Next episode is my favorite actually. Ohh that tough decision making you had to do even as a viewer, really got me anxious. Eagerly waiting for your next drop Korotos.
About the Colossal titan, random thought, what if it takes effort to vaporize the bones, like he had basically just transformed when he did that. But when Eran attacked him, he had already used up a lot of steam. (Pun intended)
30:54 Eren caught him before he fell. It was supposed to be implied. That why Eren was in a level of acceptance of Armins death rather than learning he just died. And also why the house he was laying on wasn’t broken.
Thank you for your insane hard work on these!! I watched/listened to them and finally I'm up to date 😅 One thing I wish you noticed/ mentioned is Marlo thinking Hitch is still sleeping (because he doesn't know she was into him and he just realized that he liked liked her)but in reality, Hitch couldn't sleep because she was worrying about Marlo. 💔💔💔
10:00 kowalski here, Floch used a move called.. Thinking, blocking and evading. As you can see in the frames of Marlow getting hit in the head, you can see floch "falling"/ducking to the side, turning the horse so it's head would directly be in front of his. So besides lowering himself, he makes himself smaller and even puts up a barrier that may reduce the impact enough. Yes floch is the only one that even tried to survive here.
@@amongusus47825 well yes, he said so himself basically in the previous episode.. But he's also the only one that used their brain and tried to survive
for reference of Levi's speed, those 9 cuts in one frame equate to roughly 216 cuts/slashes per second. Given how well trained he is too, that means that Levi could probably cut through and break every single bone in the human body with individual cuts in less than a second.
Quick Note, fantastic analysis - been hooked on this series since day 1. Armin never made it beyond the walls. Non of Erens generation of scouts did, until after this fight
I kinda get reiner forgetting about the thunderspears. If your head got practically blown off you'd probably have a rough time recalling what just happened too
When Bertholdt was cooking Armin alive and looked at Eren's titan, I think his titan looks just a bit shinier than normal skin would look like. I'm not sure if it's the lighting, fire, or the screen I watched it on but it sure looked like that was Eren's titan hardening
I watched this yesterday with my friend. I've watched erwin charge 5 times already but it feels more heartbreaking every itteration and yesterday I cried
So Zeke’s throw animation being reused, and Zeke being an avid baseball player is, in all actuality, consistent with how baseball players (and especially pitchers going from the wind up) actually throw. Even in highschool, pitchers will look almost exactly the same on every throw.
Dude that Dany forgot about the Iron Fleet really pissed me off with D&D, when she was talking about sinking his fleet an EP earlier. I love the Dragon Queen Daenerys Targaryen!
The idea of aparadies island for Eldians is great. If they didnt remove the memorys so they wont go outside the walls to fight the titans they would have been fine ?
Nah. Cause marleyans would have eventually attacked, just like they did. The truth is the king didn't care if all of his people where killed in ignorance
@@ezflow5819 that was "coincidental". My point is even if grisha had died before reaching paradis, marley still wanted to attack paradis to get the founding's powers

He's actually the hero on the side of the world, the world outside of marley, the background civilians, whether it's Eldian, marleyan or any other nationality/race. He's fighting for their freedom
The "enemy" in this case is marley, who in fact want the founder to gain more power.
Man i love your breakdowns! So glad you didnt get demonetized.
This arc, which culminates in this episode, is what made me realize that AOT isn’t just a good show, it’s an all time great (the goat imo)
even after watching this series so many times, i enjoy watching this breakdown honestly. it’s an anime that lives deep in my heart so i appreciate that you continuing to make these
I believe the phrase “ keep moving forward” comes from Reiner I believe he said it during his reveal in season 2
Flashback of their training in season 4. We'll talk about all of those, fret not 👀
Recently found your channel.
Having watched the whole series more than i can count on my fingers, it is one of my favourites of all time by far.
Your videos are a great dissection and explanation of the series and make me realise things even I didn’t notice despite my many rewatches.
Going to rewatch after binging some more of your videos.
Good stuff
Subbed and keep up the awesome work my man.
The author confirmed that the "vanishing" is an ability.
20:04 apparently that titan and the one beside it were supposed to be joke replicants of mikasa and eren. Or their voice actors. Im not sure which.
For the next episode, note that armin doesn't narrate it, so to give the suspense to whether Armin survived or not
i’ve been binging these non stop for weeks and now i’m all caught up i don’t know what to do with my life… I can’t wait for the next one!!
15:39 bro forgot about salad
Here lies Erwin Smith: He tried so hard, and got so far.....
In the end the basement is all that matter~
@@dzikripratama3776 😎
He had to fall,
and lose it all.
But in the end
The basement really mattereddddd.
These videos mean so much to me and my nightly routine. Really appreciate the content man! Hope you can continue posting these AOT breakdowns consistently, that'd be amazing.
Honey, wake up...
24:04 it's my wallpaper since 2019 I LOVE IT!
Jesus man, your million names for berthold just has me every time with each new one
Hey man seeing this video dropped today made my afternoon. Love your work bro 💪🏽.
I finished watching the entire retrospective this morning, I go to sleep and there’s a new video; hell yeah.
the one thing that i dont like from the charge scene is that nobody in the scouts except for floch stayed low to their horses. erwin made the point of having a smoke screen to decrease his accuracy but didnt mention that making yourself a smaller target would increase your odds of survival and the one person we see doing it actually did survive
Next episode is my favorite actually. Ohh that tough decision making you had to do even as a viewer, really got me anxious. Eagerly waiting for your next drop Korotos.
this thumbnail is goated i already know the videos gonna be great
About the Colossal titan, random thought, what if it takes effort to vaporize the bones, like he had basically just transformed when he did that. But when Eran attacked him, he had already used up a lot of steam. (Pun intended)
Did you know the 2 titans running at Levi in the "I promised" scene are actually modeled after Erens and Amrins voice actors
Just finished AoT a couple weeks ago, and I’m just excited even more for these episodes
30:54 Eren caught him before he fell. It was supposed to be implied. That why Eren was in a level of acceptance of Armins death rather than learning he just died. And also why the house he was laying on wasn’t broken.
Thank you for your work man.
Another one done.....U R THE HERO among us AOT fans❤
i remember watching the first episode of this series around when the anime ended and couldn't wait for you to get to this episode.
Thank you for your insane hard work on these!! I watched/listened to them and finally I'm up to date 😅
One thing I wish you noticed/ mentioned is Marlo thinking Hitch is still sleeping (because he doesn't know she was into him and he just realized that he liked liked her)but in reality, Hitch couldn't sleep because she was worrying about Marlo. 💔💔💔
Thank you for the video!
10:00 kowalski here,
Floch used a move called..
Floch is coward confirmed
@@amongusus47825 well yes, he said so himself basically in the previous episode.. But he's also the only one that used their brain and tried to survive
Levi scene might be the best scene in all of anime, just re-watched for like the 100th time and still hits the same
for reference of Levi's speed, those 9 cuts in one frame equate to roughly 216 cuts/slashes per second. Given how well trained he is too, that means that Levi could probably cut through and break every single bone in the human body with individual cuts in less than a second.
Last few weeks I found this series and it’s been great to watch this
It was already a good day, but now I get to hear korotos while at work. Peak Shift!
Paradise being pronounced 'Parody' really feels like it should have stood out to me more
KEEP IT UP KORO!!!!
Will do! 🙇♂️
@@Korotowhere’s the next part of the Moria video you posted.🙏
I like the detail of Armin anchoring to eeren. The first time he accidentally stabbed eeren and erren through him off
This is the episode that solidified armin as the best character in the series imo.
Tho Sasha is a close second. RIP
this episode is absolutely goated levi vs zeke is generational but armin's death made me cry so much
Quick Note, fantastic analysis - been hooked on this series since day 1.
Oh boy my favorite character arc. Levi giving Zeke PTSD.
I remember seeing Josh Grelle at Florida Supercon right after the dub of this ep aired. He got a standing ovation at his panel.
I watched this yesterday with my friend. I've watched erwin charge 5 times already but it feels more heartbreaking every itteration and yesterday I cried
Paradeisos - a royal, enclosed park... a walled garden.
Levi is the goat. I stopped worrying about the possibility of his death from this episode on up until the explosion
So Zeke’s throw animation being reused, and Zeke being an avid baseball player is, in all actuality, consistent with how baseball players (and especially pitchers going from the wind up) actually throw. Even in highschool, pitchers will look almost exactly the same on every throw.
I love this series so much man you are the best
Hange rose from the ashes, but she also went out in a blaze of glory. Essentially living on borrowed time due to Moblit pushing her down the well.
Just come across your channel, hell yeah man I’m in
I just watched your last episode during My workout last night, knowing that another video was coming soon. This is a blessing🥹
Last episode and Erwin's charge is very fitting for a workout! 😄
Hope you enjoy!
Dude that Dany forgot about the Iron Fleet really pissed me off with D&D, when she was talking about sinking his fleet an EP earlier. I love the Dragon Queen Daenerys Targaryen!
The “yeah so um” monkey throwing animation got me
Also battery is good but will never top bearspray
I heard once that Hitler had most of his fellow troops blown up by a bomb while he was away. Survivor's guilt is a strange beast.
@@AIMalek but only after grisha went for his mission
@@ezflow5819 that was "coincidental". My point is even if grisha had died before reaching paradis, marley still wanted to attack paradis to get the founding's powers
@@ezflow5819 Ethnostates are always a bad idea…
90 percent of the followers cried in this episode... it was a roller coaster of emotions
