I was at the concert yesterday (Astra/Berlin). It was just as unpredictable and musically and artistically brilliant as the band itself. A great experience!
I like how this is basically just country or love song, not sounding at all like Laibach at all (except Milan's voice of course). But it still has some weird charm to it.
Remember, everyone, lots of people hated the 6 versions of Sympathy for the Devil too. This song is part of an 8-song longplay around the same lyrics but different styles. This is just Laibach being Laibach. I'm old enough to remember people rage-quitting laibach because of Let it Be, and also for SFTD's more pop/synth arrangements, the all-English Spectre, pairing up with orchestras, two of the original members leaving, and so on. Laibach won't judge you.
This might be the first ever Laibach since they started that does nothing for me at all which is a shame........but I respect and love them all the more for that. More power to those where the only repetition is change & growth.
I feel the same way. However, taken into the greater context of all of Laibach's music, there is something weirdly perfect about them insisting on doing this. Laibach never does anything by accident, I think. Very much in the spirit of what you said, I think ultimately this is change and growth. But every once in a while, another 'Whistleblower' or 'Brat Moj' or 'B Mashina,' or 'Drzava'...would be nice.
@@emeriusjones Well, the song definitely has nods to Kraftwerk (watch the official video). Rammstein is just a common comparison to Laibach because of the vocals. Is there a country band/artist that this sounds like or is it more generic?
@@kevinhampton6986 This great Laibach song was created for the soundtrack of the sci-fi movie Iron Sky 2, It plays at the ending credits. It's surely a reference to the 1974 movie "Dark Star" and the country song that plays at the end. ruclips.net/video/eTa2vXL7FI8/видео.html
At the last concert of Laibach in Paris in January 2023 I saw a fan of Johnny Hallyday....with a cow boy hat and a johnny Hallyday.....I think the public of Laibach has changed a lot.,..Milan Fras the Slovenian Johnny????
The actual live version of this song had over 30 minutes (as in half an hour) followed by a 10 minute pause before the concert continued. I like the song, but this was a little bit too much for my taste.
Wow. Yes. Way too much! It also has strong similarities to the theme song from the film 'Dark Star. Love Laibach, but it's always a mistake to overdo the Country and Western stuff 😄
@@jeffreybarton1297 Only the 3:31 first minutes are country-like. The other 33 are more electronic and actually great (even if I enjoy the country part as well)
I haven't heard the Laibach anti-fascist super warriors say anything against the totalitarian rules of the "pandemic"... Did they turn politically correct or maybe worse?
Laibach, the best country band ever
i know, right?
They learned well from Swans
Well hey, Leben heißt Leben!

Äh,
a very good JOKE👍🏼
I never thought country would happen but of course I'm wrong! Laibach can do anything! And it's beautiful.
I so love Laibach, forever.
A country song by Laibach... I surrender. Wow.
Always great, the Great Laibach...!

Sjajno!!! Ko razume, shvata...
Great song, great performance.
Wonderful Song from a very great Band. Respect for Laibach. Warm wishes.. Dirk Münz.🙂
Glad I saw them in 80s. I find this interesting, but I really miss the industrial Sturm und Drang.
Yea maybe its an artistik sacrifice made to appease the westernisasi sentimental folks and their need to throw in the displaced love ballad?
SUPERRRRRR BRAVOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Amazing..
Great song, it was great to hear it live in Cracow. I would love to hear full version (over half an hour) from concert on RUclips!
Amazing 🖤

Today it's going direct anyway... Heading to Mars! 🌍🚀🎯
Come to Zurich, Switzerland! Please! :)
I think Rammstein and Depeche Mode should each do a cover of this.
I think maybe Rammstein and Kraftwerk fits best...definitely a lot of Kraftwerk nods here
I like Rammstein very much, but I agree wíth the view that the Laibach is the Rammstein for adults.
Guess none of you guys know any folk/country groups to put in. Which this obviously borrows from.
