Gx4 is the coolest of these stack n half subcompacts, love the style, love the teigger fairly crisp, love the slightly larger and longer grip then dinky p365. love the gun but i don’t trust it
Mine is on the list of ones affected by the notice, but I just checked the firing pin without pushing the block down and it does not go through the bolt face unless I push down the button. And…. Still no shipping label from Taurus. Sucks cuz the gx4 was becoming my favorite one.
Thnx for posting mine was not on recall either. But i checked and my firepin block is definitely blocking. I like this piece but im having a hard time walking w one in the chamber becuz unlike the g2c this has not manual ssfety. How are u guys handling that? Just fucc it ? Be brave? Lol
Just get comfortable basically. If your not comfortable without a manual safety that’s fine. Just train using it. Meaning when you go shooting practice raising the gun safely off fire a couple rounds safety back on. Repeat. To the point it’s a thoughtless action.
I bought 2 of these late last year because they were HIGHLY liked in RUclips videos and also dirt cheap and had a killer rebate. Bought one for me and one for my girl. Did the recall thing and make NO mistake- Taurus REFUSES to refer to it as a "recall"! It is a "Safety Notice". Whatever lets you sleep better at night Taurus! FINALLY got to shoot them for the first time a couple days ago. I also put the green Viridian laser on mine because it was also very cheap- the girlfriend didn't want one. G/F's gun started messing up first. It would FIRE, EJECT, but not close completely with the next round. The round would feed but the slide got stuck maybe 2mm before fully closed. She was MAD!!! I continued to dial the laser in and finally noticed that my front sight was missing- THIS is a defect that I have heard about. Then MY slide decided to not fully close with a new round. I'm not happy right now!
I have several Taurus semi auto firearms and I'm also a reloader, I found out that the shape of the bullet can make all the difference in the bullet going into full battery. Taurus chambers are not reamed deep enough for certain bullet shapes, causing the slide not to go into battery fully. To fix this problem I ordered a chamber ream and ream the chamber slightly deeper, this has fixed all of my Taurus semi auto firearms.
@@cloycespears9632 That is an interesting observation. The rounds we were having trouble feeding are lead with a flat nose. We haven't had any problems with FMJ with rounded nose.
I heard if your frame says Taurus Armas made in Brazil then you’re not effected by the recall as only US made GX4s fall under the recall. Does yours say that on the frame?
The only man that explained it the right way appreciate it
Thanks for this, really good footage about the probable issue on this recall.
I´ll share this with my audience in Brazil.
It’s only guns made in America. Brazilians are fine in regards to this.
Thanks for explaining the drop safety mechanism. Looks like every GX4 will be recalled eventually.
camping gun carry with empty chamber
