My grandparents started coming here right after World War 2. No buildings at that time. Just a small launch for fishing boats. I have been coming here since I was a child almost every summer since 1963. Back then they allowed tent camping and the facility was much smaller. Where the Restaurant is now located they had a arcade for kids where I spent plenty of quarters on the thick Coca Cola bottles and games. I made friends with kids and their families from all over the country. I spoke very little Spanish but managed to understand what the employees were saying. They always took great care in helping us enjoy our stay. Back in 1981, My wife and I, stayed for our honeymoon in the hotel for a few days. I was stationed at Submarine Base Ballast Point in San Diego and when my Submarine came into port I made it a point to take my young bride to Ensenada and enjoy a short vacation. The sound of the waves and ocean breeze was relaxing. We hated to check out and head back home. I was lucky enough to view Estero Beach from the Periscope of The USS Guardfish. We took navigational fixes on the Estero Beach Hotel, Punta Banda and Military base close by. These were the same waters my grandfather and I would fish on a charter boat. Every time we have visited Estero, We would have breakfast at the Restaurant and then walk the ocean front remembering my Grandparents, who have passed long ago and other family members who accompanied us on our summer vacation. The emotions I feel are vibrant and I tear up. I can still see my Grandfather on the Beach helping me with baiting the anchovy on my fishing line. I hope one day I can buy one of the small homes on the property. It would be a great place to retire.
This was very helpful! I was looking for a hotel in Ensenada that was open with pools and beach access without actually being in downtown Ensenada. I am excited to visit this place!
The Bird estuary is across from this Hotel, it's on the península only; No ATV's on beach and there is a hiking trail, explore birds and tiny crabs with a large claw; enter from Hwy 23 to La Bufadora ...Exit Km 12 turn right. take till its ends, pass security and park at end of two way road, not in end circle. There is a parking section. 🚙

Good video bro.
I’ve been going to Ensenada all my life 3 times a year and heard about the resort but never been there. I’ll be trying it this week.
