    Here's my take with anxiety and the limbic system. I've learned this in my program and have noticed this. It's abit long lol. The more I recover the more I get anxiety and intrusive thoughts. This is a good sign that you are recovering. Keep going. When we have tms for a while we have old pathways in the brain that are created. Old habits and routines of stress and anger and the limbic system gets stress hormones c.a.n chemistry. Cortisol adrenaline norepinephrine. The limbic system gets used to that like a addicted drug addict. So it gets its regular supply when we are in our old routine. When we are stressed with tms body physical symptoms the limbic system is sitting on barrels of c.a.n chemistry and is comfortable. Once we start doing the work and make changes, these symptoms slowly resolve and go away 1 by 1..the limbic system is losing out on its supply. Our limbic system doesn't like change, it find it to be a threat..so it will pull back to the old pathways. Change stresses it out along with its addiction to c.a.n chemistry. It will also chime in and ask you if you are sure about this change with putting thoughts of doubt. It gets crafty. So the more symptoms that get resolved the more mental anxiety and intrusive thoughts would come. Limby is getting cornered and worried but I keep doing the work and show limby love and talk to it throughout the process. Until the new pathways are strong limby will be jumping back and forth to old pathways and new ones until it slowly surrenders depending on how you keep being indifferent. This is how we recalibrate, limby sends stress alarms through our body or mind and when we react with indifference then it uses that information to recalibrate because it knows its safe. It's team work. The brain is neuroplastic and is able to change. We are teaching our 🧠 what we want with repetition. It's not easy..you will feel symptoms and mental anxiety..but that is part of the process of recalibrating. It's a beautiful indicator that your doing it right and to keep going. Eventually when the brain knows you are safe the symptoms and anxiety will settle and you will be recovered. After my perfect storm event my limbic system is at a heightened sensitive state so it thinks everything is a threat and tries to keep me safe. Mal adaptive stress response it keeps sending ⏰ alarms. Now that my body is having less symptoms it sends mental alarms and my job is to acknowledge them and allow them and they turn off. Eventually those alarms will slow down and stop when my limbic system knows its safe and becomes calm. Repetition. Living my life. Not resisiting the anxiety or mental pops. Anxiety is not a mental illness. We aren't crazy. It's a normal emotional response like any other emotion. I allow it and let it do its thing without ruminating. I know I've said this in the past a few times but I think it's important not to be scared by anxiety. Allow it, don't resist it, don't try and distract or be In the present because that is resistance. Let the anxiety or thoughts do its thing and float through you. Don't ruminate and get back to living your life don't wait around all day for it. That also teaches the brain that you are safe. Smile, dance elevate your mood. Know that it will pass when you don't resist and surrender. You are your own cure. Keep going..enjoy the process and don't put too much pressure on yourself to recover. The journey towards recover is important. I feel grateful because I'm learning life long tools. Tools that will help me create the life I want. I rambled abit sorry..🤣❤

    Absolutely right Dan . That’s what you have to say “ it’s an anxious moment it won’t last “ then get your butt out of bed ! That is a must . I have anxiety a lot in the morning heart beating fast it feels crappy but if I get up and get moving I am good in about one to two hours it passes . It goes counter to what you feel. You feel like oh no 🙈 and you want to curl up and put the pillow over your head. But that is the worst thing you can do. I think you have to be very intentional about what you will do when those feelings come on. Have a healthy plan . Lay off the caffeine if it helps.

    I never had such huge anxiety until the chronic pain started. I had a very good period of hope when all the anxiety passed! And now I'm back to a hopeless place... but I think not actually back - moving forward, I feel it's a bump on the road. The trauma from the injury came to surface and I need to process it. In the meanwhile, it's causing me anxiety attacks. My therapist asked me about taking pills even though she knows I don't want. I hate when people try to convince me. I'm not against pills, but I know what I need. A pill of hope.
    Thank you for talking about it Dan. I love you.

    its so funny this video went up bc i've finally reached a spot where i've been telling myself consistently that i'm safe, and now today a HUGE dramatic increase in anxiety, but a decrease in other symptoms. so interesting!! seems like it's a sign that the mind-body approach is working, or nonetheless having SOME kind of effect. therefore i'm going to keep following the thread and see what happens :)

    A bit like others who have commented here I have found that my anxiety has risen since I started to follow Dr Sarnos advice and think psychological. In particular, journalling leaves me pretty wired. After listening to this video I’ve taken a few steps back, not journaled, just rested, relaxed, had some fun. All to calm my sympathetic nervous system. Constantly telling myself “I am safe”. Feeling much calmer. Think I was trying to hard and sent my limbic system into a defensive tail spin. Will try and pace myself a little better in future so don’t feel so anxious again hopefully.

      Journaling on past emotional experiences and perhaps even trauma can absolutely send us into fight or flight. My approach does not involve journaling or digging up the past. Focus on just allowing ourselves to feel our right now emotions. Safety is where the solution lays.

      I went into therapy to admit my family was abusive because it had to be kept such a big dark secret to everyone including myself but that is the only reason I talk about the past just to be honest with myself and how I feel about it - I find it very helpful as long as I don't get lost back in the drama of it. I find it is necessary that I confront why I made the decisions I made which was to be safe from my family and anyone else who was trying to hurt me. People thought I was so brave for making the decisions and having the adventures courageous adventures I was having but I was really scared. Young people should never have to be afraid of their own parents & siblings. That is the one place u need to feel appreciated & safe when u are young. I now have to look at the truth of who my parents & siblings were and are truly evil sick people and I cannot run from that truth & I have also grieve the lose. I.have a therapist help me face the fly truth because that is what I feel is necessary for me to heal and move forward.

    good one Dan.... i had panic disorder for years, cured it with EFT, and it went down to anxiety, and the anxiety i hated because it went along with bad thoughts, but now the bad thoughts aren't really there anymore, and i am trying indifference to the sensation of anxiety, and it works... i'm an HSP, and a little spectrumy so i'm not neurotypical, so the anxiety is just a thing

Then I remember both are fake! I get depressed when I play the same movies about the past.

    It’s no matter if the nervous symptoms are crazy in the morning or not , the syndromes are still there but they do let go for me after an hour or so the pain symptoms drop down. If I acknowledge why I’m in this condition I can get a get a bit of relief. Then the day progresses not to badly.

      I think morning anxiety and symptoms can be high because we know that there is a full day ahead of us and the fear and wondering "Oh crap, how bad is today going to be" can ramp things up for us. Remind yourself you've made it through every bad day you've ever had and you'll be just fine.

    Thank you so much Dan, I have been watching your videos since summer and they are life changing, they helped me regrow some of the aloepcis areata back. I believe alopecia areata is TMS, but your last video I mind of for stuck when you said you have to basically shift from thinking the TMS condition is not sturctural. I don't know how to think of aloepcis areata as not sturctural, how do I ignore it ? Did you help people with alopecia areata ?

      Reem M, I had a Soldier with a similar problem. Doctors could not figure it out. Turned out it was stress that was causing it. He is fine now.

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  2 года назад

      This is not a common thing I deal with, however - view the aloepcis areata as the RESULT of TMS and too much stress. The result is different from the cause. Focus on treating the cause with more self care, soothing, clarity that your body can heal.

    • @reemm4696
      @reemm4696 2 года назад +1

      Thanx so much for both replies. Ok I get that it's stress but I think my survival mode respond is to dig dig dig and search for solutions, which puts me in fix it mode instead of relax and distress mode. I went to a specialist in alopecia areata that does eft tapping and told me we have to find "the root cause" and psychological trigger that makes your body responds this way and she does an intensive 3 hour tapping session until we find it. It seems like a good idea but I don't think this will help if anything it will put me in more fix it mode and also anxiety. When I watched Dan's videos it really help me relax and even saw results with alopecia regrowing in some areas. But I feel since I talked to that lady any time I want to relax about alopecia and follow Dan's way all I see is the lady and that it can't be that easy to lose alopecia areata, I have to find the psychological "root cause". Could it be simpler then I am expecting, maybe I'm in a mental distructive loop about this ( ei. no this won't work even if you relax because you have to find the root cause ) and I just have to disrupt the pattern of this mental loop
      Sorry for the long rant but I think this gave me an "Aha" light bulb moment lol
