Whoever brought up the point that Gini pulled a defender out of the play on the winner deserves credit. I went back and watched and we may not get the goal if Gini isn't on. I don't know enough about football to have too much of an opinion on Gini but what I see is when he's on the field, the team looks better(even if Gini appears invisible). If the starting lineup next game is similar to this game, that's fine. If Gini is in the starting lineup v France, I won't be mad.
Hard fought but deserved win. It felt really good to bring it home and take the 3 points in the first game, a good start to the tournament. Gakpo, Reijnders, Ake and Verbruggen were great. Veerman, Xavi and Depay were a bit dissapointing. Malen, Weghorst and Frimpong were great subs, Wijnaldum wasn't. He really shouldn't be getting minutes, he doesn't add anything at all (I think he had 6 touches in 30 minutes). Happy to take the win, hopefully we show up against France. Hup Oranje!
I feel like I've heard some calls for De Vrij to not be starting which I don't understand at all. To me, he was steady at the back. If either center back was shaky, it was Virgil, but I would not change the central defenders for sure. I love this pairing.
it was a tense game and i m so relived that Netherlands got the 3 points..thanks Weghorst, u keep silencing ur critics ... here are my reflections from this game... -Netherlands dominated the 1st half but the players were so rushed and lacked the needed concentration to convert from the numerous chances..on the other hand , the team dropped off in the 2nd half . -Dumfries looked dead on the 1st half but was a constant threat on the 2nd half -the midfield was the weakest link for Netherlands ..the trio working there were not clicking with each other ..veerman was disappointing and lacked confidence and i think the early booking made him so shaky .. Reijnders produced some nice passes and was so mobile.. Schouten was solid as well..but on the next game we need them to do better. - Ake was amazing with 2 assists ..that is music to my ears because this means that we will not see Blind any more..coz we have so many other talents -koeman subs were good too but i thought wijnaldum substitution was bad as he was invisible ...i actually wanted to see gravenberch -Verbruggen was 10 out of 10 -gapko was immense in the 1st half but dropped off in the 2nd half -simons was below average and should be dropped for malen on the next game. -depay was good and active but again he was toothless in front of goal -for the next game .. i hope to see the same linkup with only 2 changes..( Frimpong and Malen In) ..( Veerman and simons OUT) WE need to play 5-3-2... nothing is impossible ,, bring on france!!!

I disagree that Poland is "very" physical. Our player lack dynamic and stamina. I've seen denmark yesterday and Denmark is physical team for me. They can run fast and do many sprints during the game - Polish players cant.
Give Gakpo and Ake credit. Also... I'm done shitting on Wout. We need a clinical finisher. Memphis and Xavi try too hard to be flashy when it doesn't call for that. Should have been 4-1
@@FootballOranje Probably. You are going to need to have a striker that gets himself into good spots and is committed to just putting the ball in the net without being flashy. Memphis was launching them into the seats when he should have just been getting them on target. Xavi just looks selfish sometimes. When the play is to pass he goes for an easy save shot. Gakpo is rock solid.
When is it time to finally acknowledge that Simons is a bust? Memphis and Gakpo need to be clinical, quick, and ruthless in when taking their chances or else we won’t go far in this tournament.
I think Schouten is better than Frenkie in more than one aspect. Veerman was invisible, so was Wijnaldum. Dont agree on Xavi, I thought he was alright actually; still not as good as he is for his club though. Verbruggen tanked some more confidence, really really happy with him. Aside from that; yea its pretty positive, yet we didnt impress Europe like Spain and Germany did.

Nederland is not as good as they think they are. Our (Polish) team is very weak yet we almost got a draw but we expected nothing but 0-3 trashing from dutch. Dutch celebrated like they just beaten brazil in world cup final - it was a bit funny and cringy. For what i've seen yesterday - France and Austria are favorites for 1 and 2 place.
