THIS is what I want. NOT to break their trust. i have two new rescue pups who do exactly what Samson does. They have collars thank god but i can't get a leaash on them. Will search your videos for that step.

My dog is not afraid of the collar and is fine with sniffing it, but starts freaking out when I try to put it on. This video worked up until putting the treat through the collar, but once I put it on her she starts shaking and running around.

Magnificent. My Red Heeler mix is terrified of wearing a collar. When I put it on her, she acts like has been beaten. I'm going to try this to see if will break her anxiety.

This kind of conditioning approach will take days of several sessions I assume. Then the question is how to walk the do in the interim. Leaving the dog at home without going out would lead to other issues

This is brilliant thank you, my dog loves going in the backyard but will not move when I put the collar and leash on him so this is what I will be using ❤

I used this technique for muzzle. But for collars also look into using clip collars so they don't have to be actually slipped over the head. Even Martingale collars can come with clips.

what if your dog wont even look at you or come near you, she just runs away constantly, cant even put her in an enclosure. this advice works fine for a dog whos a little bit fearful. but what about a dog that is actually fearful.

Consider a clip collar so you don't have to actually slip over the head.

I never saw your dog afraid of the collar. Your video started with the dog jumping back from your hand, not the collar. I've seen hundreds of these videos where they show you how to put a collar on a passive dog. Just once I'd like to see a dog that's angry as heck and won't allow the collar near them. Then maybe you will be helping people instead of putting out these cookie-cutter videos. Dime a dozen. Seen one ya seen em all. Then they never answer.

Some truth in this but with high value treats, allowing the dog to have the collar in their bed for a few days before using it, making the collar way too large to start or better still using a clip type collars that don't have to be forced over the neck, and it is possible. But the idea of it working after 6 to 15 glimpses is nonsense for reactive dogs. It will take days or weeks.
