I'm a 58 year old truck driver whose musical influences started with Slade, T-Rex, Bowie, interrupted by The Jazz Singer, AC/DC, Led Zep, I could go on, and believe me, I sometimes do. I heard an interview and songs with this lady on Wireless 2 on Wednesday night whilst at a truck stop in East Sussex,,, I was spellbound!!! The album is on it's way! X P.S. The Jazz Singer would be very impressed I'm sure!
Just discovered Peggy while searching for songs for my Gender and the Law class, looking at work inequality. Discovered the song "I'm gonna be an engineer". And now she is giving voice to the invisibleness of older females in our society! She is a treasure. Much love to Peggy, what an incredible talent she has shared with the world.
I just discovered Peggy yesterday. Her song I'm Gonna Be an Engineer inspired me to share it with female family & friends who have pushed back against our patriarchal society and accomplished so much. And in this video of The Invisible Woman, I found genuine attachment because all three performers are wearing comfortable socks. Well done!
Brilliant song! I'm a singer over 80 and invisible, except when I sing. I live down the hill from another singer over 90. Barbara Dane is still recording and performing (sometimes). Sorry that older boy of yours is getting to "that" age. I've been invisible for a few decades now and I find the solitude delightful. In October I start Sing Thing Family Singing's 49th year-on Zoom.
Loved Peggy's personality, intelligence and talent on her contribution to Folk on Foot Front Room Festival last year and am looking forward to seeing what I've been missing all these years. I've started with the superb 'final' album, which is so beautiful that I fear I might have started with the best!
Thank you so much for this song!. Heard Peggy on BBC radio ‘Front Row’ and within two lines of the intro to the song I had to stop the programme to find it and listen. Brilliant. I ‘hear you’ and I see you. Looking forward to listening to the whole album. Thanks again and best wishes to you all.
Oh my God!!! I am delighted with your voice! There are no words to describe my feelings. May God give you all the best! Thanks for the great song. Love you.
Have been playing this on and off the last few weeks. Woke up with it in my head this morning. The gentleness of the performance is so effective. So strong! Thank you. Iris
Ahhh, it's such an uplifting song...even for us invisible men! It's been a hell of a weekend but listening to this half a dozen times has been a soothing balm. Maybe coz ye sound like me Mam! xx
A beautiful beautiful song Peggy. May we hear and see the 'invisible" women for many more years. Hope to see and hear you soon in Oxford or elsewhere. Much love Guillemette Ps We met and chatted at Eliane' s Christmas panto in the old days before Covid fell on us. Take care
The Dalai lama said something like “ do good deeds, its your path to immortality” You, dear soul are immortal So long as humankind has a memory you will live on Our best hugs to you from Ketchikan Alaska
Wonderful song could have written it myself. How often I've felt exactly that ... invisible to society and largely irrelevant in their eyes but I will not be quiet you can be sure of that! Lizi Shepheard
Half sibling. Both were children of music scholar Charles Seeger. Peggy's mother was Ruth Crawford Seeger, modernist composer and author of books of folksongs for children. Peggy's brother Mike Seeger was a fine folk musician and researcher.
Wonderful😊
Beautiful song and look at her charisma, she is not invisible
More important than ever! Keep singing out!
What a truly beautiful and talented woman. If you've never heard her speaking, you don't know what you're missing.
I love your songs!

Thank you for this fantastic solidarity. Wise, bold and beautiful Peggy. An inspiration for women and humanity in general.
Peg, you are far from invisible and “won’t go away” ever ...... my best from Sydney. Sounding good girl!

Me too, on BBC radio 3 the other night on 'In Tune'. Wonderful!...I am on the verge of becoming invisible...but, hey, I am in amazing company :)

Auch ich liebe diesen Song! Er spricht mir aus der Seele. Inzwischen singe ich ihn selber und begleite mich dazu auf der Gitarre. Danke Peggy! 🎸🎶

Is Peggy Seeger a relative of the legendary Pete "bash the fash" Seeger?
Only in spirit, alas!
Half sibling. Both were children of music scholar Charles Seeger. Peggy's mother was Ruth Crawford Seeger, modernist composer and author of books of folksongs for children. Peggy's brother Mike Seeger was a fine folk musician and researcher.
Far too beautiful to be invisible but I know what you mean as I'm one too!
