Just accepted my first RBT job! I am leaving a finance job and taking a significant pay cut, but so happy to finally have a job that gets me excited and motivated.
How has it been going?
Hi I am interested in this career. I am basically an Engineer. How to reach in this RBT position. Please advise me. Thanks.
Same ! I just got my offer letter today for my first RBT job 😭. I’m leaving tech (heavy pay cut) 🙂 but I’m so happy
@@Kay.channel how has it been?
@@theajeena0depends on what state you live.
Hi! you definitely lifted up my spirits. I’m currently an RBT and I have a 3 yr old and they are classified as a hard case. I have to keep reminding myself that their progress is not going to happen in 1 day but keep being persistent and consistent in their learning. She is my youngest and I’m used to working with 6+ yr olds who are more towards higher functioning. So I have to change my mindset but as I said, you’ve definitely motivated me to keep going. ☺️
I’m starting tomorrow and I’m so nervous! Can I ask how it went? Are you still an RBT? Any advice for a newbie?
How was your first session? And how long was it?
I'm glad I found you! It looks like this field of work is so rewarding and filled with compassion. I love it!
I am an rbt in florida i love your videos i am only 19 and it has been so hard for me to work with my clients because i dont have any experience but just watching your videos help me alot to have more confidence love itt thank youuu ❤️❤️
You are so welcome, you can do it!
I just got approved for training and I'm 19 also! Super excited to be getting on board with this RBT stuff! Wishing to become a Child Psychologist when I finish my Associates Degree in Psychology. Hang in there!
@@libertycheshire8887 Make sure you like research before committing to the field!
You're 21 now🥺
Some kids are more challenging than others. Keep in mind for those going into this field ♡ but you can learn and adapt and it builds strength!
Watching this video has confirmed that I'm headed down the right path! Thank you! To see how rewarding it is for you is definitely something I look forward to! Greater the risk higher the reward!!!
First time here and thinking about the rbt certification. New subscriber, I love your channel
Good video. I have. Hard client too. Sometimes I feel frustrated but I know we are doing god because there is a difference between first sessions and last. Thanks for your videos
thanks so much for your videos and your replies to questions. I started watching you when I first decided to become an RBT and you’ve been sooooo much help! I’ve been working as a BT (not registered yet) for 3 weeks and your tips and replies have made me so much more confident and capable. Thanks so much keep up the amazing work!
Welcome to the field!! I try to be as helpful and informative as I can, thank you for taking the time to provide me with positive feedback!
This was an awesome insight into your day! I just received the news today that I received an offer for an RBT position I've been holding out for for a really long time now! I hope I am able to make an impact in my clients lives like you have.
I want to become an Rbt and been applying places Im so excited to be able to help others
I wish a good luck
Do it ! Its so much fun and so rewarding!
Hi Anna 😀 this video was amazing! I love to see you working with the kiddos. How cool of the parents to let u share this with the channel. Please thank them for us. Hope all is well. ❤️🧩💕
It really is so cool of them and I am so grateful for their support! I will absolutely let them know❣️
I think I''ve watched all of your videos in the last few days. I'm a just-minted RBT but have been in the field for a year. Your videos are so helpful for getting new ideas! Keep it up!
Welcome to the field 👻 thank you!
New subscriber-- your videos are so fun and informative! I'm a musician/music teacher originally, but after losing most of my gigs/students since March I've been looking for new options. I decided on EMS (currently working towards my EMT cert), but I started researching other "entry-level" medical positions and RBT really stood out to me. Watching this video reminded me how much I miss working with kids and enriching their lives in a direct way... it warmed my heart. What you do (or what anyone who works with kids does) makes SUCH a difference.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! What we do is very important and impacts so many lives! I love what I do. I’m so happy you came across my videos! If you want to learn more about the credential you can visit my website and read the blog posts on how to get certified www.abasource.com
My mind is blown. I began implementing before RBT was even a thing in 2008. I feel soooooo old now but I'm here for these videos
😍😍😍
It’s so interesting watching you use redirecting techniques!
I just got a job as an RBT! I was super nervous but now I’m excited to do something good after watching you video!
Get excited!!! Congratulations 🎊🎈
I just interviewed for this job, and was freaking out I wasn't gonna be able to do it until I watched your videos.
Wow these are long sessions. I only have 1.5-2 hours. You're great with you clients!
Thank you ❤️
Love it! I’m an RBT, and I love visiting your page for insight.
Thank you 💙💙
Just started watching your videos. You honestly motivate me even more to become an RBT ive been considering it for a very long time
Go for it Karen! 🥳🥳

Discovered this career a couple of weeks ago. I’m currently a Caregiver doing respite homemaker and community connector but this is my next career goal.
I absolutely adore your methods! I’m fresh out of the navy, now joining the MHT community. You are my new online teacher. Thank you for sharing I hope to continue to see you make these beautiful/ incredible videos. Have a blessed day. Sending love from Texas 😇❤️❤️
Welcome to the field!!! 💙
Thank you for this video. You’re giving me hope as a parent that this therapy is worth a try.
I have been working as a CNA, MA and caregiver but in a behavioral tech position and now I am actually studying for RBT exam so I am excited thanks for the video.
the dog sunbathing 😂😂😂🌈🌈I want that dog's life lol. great video!❤️
I love this, i think im going to do great in my new field.
When becoming an RBT do you have to purchase your own learning games and strategies for the client ? Or do some agency’s supply that for you!
it depends on your center! I find myself buying a lot of my materials but you shouldn't HAVE to necessarily
I love this so much. I currently teach pre-K, which is my passion, but I am working on becoming a RBT. I. Can’t. Wait!
I teach pre k too and I am an RBT! It’s definitely a life saver and I’m proud to see another pre k teacher doing the same. I’m working towards my BCBA starting next week.
Thank you for this video! I have worked in Behavior Health Technicians here is. Today is my first day with a company in Arizona as an RBT. I am so excited and I am so nervous at the same time. I have my own child and I feel like I will be good at this job but I’m also very nervous. The job duties in general are a little different and in regards to multitasking. I can do a lot of things at once, but just knowing when, and how to engage or not engage in this case has been Difficult for me to comprehend, but I appreciate your support. Thank you.
You're so great with the children! Thanks for your videos. : )
🥲💙
Your videos are the best I've found on RUclips! Very informative, thank you!
I’m so glad I’m found you! I just passed my test and I’m so also in Florida. I know your videos will help me.
I am so glad I am not the only one accumulating toys for my clients. lol 😅 Amazing video btw. How do you handle kids who don't seem to really like anything? I had this client that all he wanted was walk around the clinic and play in the seesaw. There was very difficult to motivate him to work. Please advise. Thanks! 🙂
I just became an Behavioral Interventionist and honestly your videos help me soooo much
Can you make a video about what you eat on the days you have a busy schedule ? I have clients back to back on Monday’s and I need to start bringing my lunch but I never know what to bring.
Or just could you comment about what you eat.
I had the same question. I would love to know what suggestions or ideas you have for lunch
Wow! I actually did film myself explaining what I had for lunch but I cut it out because I thought no one would care 🤣
Your materials are awesome! Inspiring.
Thank you so so much 🥹
I am 19 and just became a RBT and love watching these! Any advice for a deaf toddler ?
I've been an RBT for 3yrs and love it but right now facing some burn out. I still do great work but home I'm so drained. I have 2 difficult cases where I often get the client 2 times in a day. Love the video!
Edit: clarifying I'm not in home but clinic :)
Newbies to the RBT/Mental health world, please do not give your phone to clients/kiddos. It can be risky for you as they will have access to whatever info. is on there. Most importantly, it can cause new maladaptive behaviors to be created that can impact their progress.
hello im have been training to be a rbt and your videos have really helped me thank you im in florida tooo
Question you buy all these things for your clients? Are you given a budget from your company or no? Just curious.
This seems like something I want to do. When you go to your clients house do you come up with the activities and instructions for them? Or do the parents do that instead?
I enjoy watching RUclips videos I am so convinced I should get into this field.
Hi Shelly! That’s so awesome! I offer the course to become a RBT if you’re interested in getting started ☺️
beautiful and it does work I see it everyday at work in the school setting (high school) wow amazing
I just completed my 40 hours this past week and I meet my client tomorrow afternoon, ah! i'm so nervous!

You didn't have to take the competency assessment first?? I finished my classes too but I need the exams

How’s it been so far?
Hello, I want to take the RBT program but, I'm going to use crutches for a year. I see on your video that most of the worrk is pretty much sitting, but i have watch others videos where looks that's a lot physical work . I'm confuse. I will appreciate your help

Hey Anna! I just discovered your channel! I actually just got hired as an RBT and I officially start this Monday! Do you have any tips or general advice? Im pretty nervous and excited. I have a lot of experience working with children, but not too much when it comes to kids with autism. I finished grad school and only had one class on ABA, so I have the basic knowledge.
Hey! I have a interview today for RBT.. Are you still working with children? Do you like it?
@@marissadelacruz8818 sooo yeahhhh I tried it, but it wasn't for me. The way the company explained the job and the way things went were completely different. So now I am a mental health therapist for kids..LOL
@@hahaits aww dang can you explain why it didn’t work? I’m interviewing as well and don’t know what to expect from an agency:(
@@jojosplace The first thing was I thought it was going to be more structured one on one with the client, but it was more of running around going to different sensory rooms and redirecting a lot of their behaviors. And for the younger children, a lot of it was chasing after them. It takes a lot of patients. There are going to be a lot of tantrums and the kids having a hard time following directions. The biggest thing you have to know is that each kid is different and their needs are going to be different. You basically have to think of it as you have to teach the kids everything from the ground up pretty much.
(2) like teaching them how to eat, how to ask for things, how to socialize, etc It was just too much for me to handle. Also, its a lot of rewarding behaviors to. I mostly shadowed with the younger kids, so I am not sure about the older kids.
omg, I love your videos!!! I live in West Palm but I plan on working as an RBT in Broward :) I just finished my 40-hour training with PBS! Any tips on the competency assessment?
Hi Tina! Any updates? I’m going down the same route with pbs
@@woop645 well I got a job at a school in pompano as the ABA administrative assistant but now I’m gonna be a teacher assistant so I ended up doing something different lol
Thank you so much for this knowledgeable video I have been really considering a masters in ABA or MSW I was doing a side by side comparison and they are similar in a way . I wanted to ask what fields in ABA can you get into? And do you have to pass the exam for RBT in order to become a therapist or can you go straight into taking the BCBA exam of course after meeting the 1500 or 2000 internship hours ? Thanks !
What is MSW?

Hi! thank you for sharing these videos because they are super helpful!! This may be a personal question but I hope it is okay to ask. Are you going to continue your education (graduate school)? If so, do you how that will look for you and your job? because I am planning to get a job as an RBT (in the future), but I also want to go to graduate school. So I just wanted to get some insight on how that would work. Thank you!
Hi 👋 I’m currently in graduate school taking all my classes online! It’s what makes most sense to me for how much I work :)

I love watching this vlog it makes me so happy. Where do I sign up 😅❤❤
You are so good. I have interview to just start, and get registered/trained
Hi Anna! I have a question: when you were working as an RBT, did your BCBA provide the materials I mean resources for implementing ASD students goals and objectives? Or did you prepare most of them?
My BCBA provided the behavior plan and I implemented!
@@ABASource he she or he prepared the materials too?
I’m debating taking a job as an RBT. First time for me and I’m nervous .
Hi Anna! I love your videos! My title is “Advanced Behavior Technician” I love my job I do it part time in the evenings.
Q!!! Do you have frequent cancellations? Or what do you advice to BT’s that have frequent cancellations? I find that a lot of agencies don’t have a lot of protection for us when it comes to getting paid when a client cancels session. Please advise. 🙏🏽
how long are the sessions? also are you usually with the parents as well? where are they?
Awesome vlog cool👍💯
Hey there! I've been watching your vids, super helpful info. I just finished my 40 hr cert and exam, I have a job lined up at a clinic and am just waiting for a new client so I can start working. I have a lot of questions, mostly I don't want to be in a clinic setting for long, I really want to be independent and be either in home or in school. Can I schedule a Zoom meeting with you for some info and chatting?
Hi Jessie! Yes absolutely, please follow this link to book with me ☺️ abasource.com/admin-consulting/
Thank you so much for the wonderful vlog. I have a question. English is my second language and I have accents. Does it hinder me to be hired and work as a RBT? TIA
Could you link that book you were working on with your boy client.... the one with beginning letters
Yes😀 I was gonna ask her the same thing. The one that he used with the bingo daubers. It looks perfect for my son.
what company do you work with? do they give you drive time and help provide the supplies you have? if so you're so lucky! i would love to work for a company like that. If not, you are so amazing at your job! wow!
They provide neither 🥲
Do you buy your own supplies?? 😮
I am now working on my competency Assessment and in a need of some vedios like the one you did as examples for DTT
Are you going to publish any more vedios?
Highly appreciate your prompt response 😍
I love how after a whole day that seemed relatively exhausting -- did not show on your face whatsoever!
Do rbt's get paid by client? Or a regular 40 hour work week pay period.
Hi, I have enjoyed watching your RBT videos. I love your passion and can do attitude. I honestly need to push myself this way whenever I feel that things are hard. I really appreciate your content. I have a question, do you think undertaking this training and working as an RBT can boost one if he or she has done course work in Mental Health Counseling? If so, could you please share with me some of the benefits and opportunities in line with this? Thank you so much Turi! :)
You’re so so sweet thank you 💖💖💖
Real life we only wish kids were that easy to treat and functional
I am 3 months into Aba and my first and only client is non verbal. As of today, I feel like I’m a terrible BI. I don’t know how to understand her or get her to listen to me. I want to make sessions fun but I have no idea how to & also because she moves every few seconds. I feel like she’s always bored. Im feeeling like I should give up but something is telling me I shouldn’t.
I have a question. Do you get provided with a tablet or did you have to buy your own? Also, what programs do you use for the kids?

I live in florida where can I take my rbt course online? cuz the college i go to does not offer it.
Did you find a place?
🦩
Hey hey!! I’m a RBT in Sarasota Fl!!
Hi am applying for the Behavioral therapist position. The company states they will train to become registered. I was wondering if it's best to already have taken the 40 hour training and even CPR or BLS prior to starting with any job for better chances a higher pay rate.
you would probably be better off yes
Hello Anna, I find that many RBT positions on indeed are looking for you to have experience working with children with disabilities. Any suggestions on how to gain experience before getting your license. I already graduated HS so I can’t do best buddies lol.
You can get experience via working at a pre-school for a few months to a year. You'll usually work with special needs children. The pay is not very good , but it gets your foot in the door while you do the 40 hrs of RBT training and apply to Behaviour tech jobs.
Thank you for you're video. I accepted a job offer as behavioral therapist. how long is you're activities you do with you're clients?
Thank you for this video.
I have a question,
As an rbt,
Do you have to buy all the materials you need for your clienst???
Or the company you work for have to provide it for you???
Thank you for your response.
Usually you would buy your own :)
I am lucky enough to do in clinic aba and our company does provide our materials but I usually end up buying special materials for my kiddos when they catch my eye 😊
Do you have your own materials you're supposed to use with all of your clients or do your clients supply the toys and activities things, do you plan daily activities catered to each kid? how many clients do you have in one day? how many hours do you work per day and what are the hours
omg do you have like a rolling suitcase for all your materials you take into the clients home? I need that!!!
Yessss! Look at this one 👀 abasource.com/product/toy-tote/
Hello Ana thanks for your videos, I’m learning to much, but I have a dude how do you collect the data? I think is during the session but can we do both, the therapy and collect data at the same time, thanks
Yes absolutely!
Do you ever deal with unorthodox or uncomfortable situations regarding the parents of a client? Just thinking ab the fact that you’re in peoples homes and a lot of people are definitely weirdos
No thankfully I have not, nor have I heard of any stories as of yet. Of course that doesn’t mean it can’t happen.
where did you get the little blue thing which helps the client for the correct pen grid?
Amazon!
Do you have to go to client’s houses as a technician?
Im looking into this career and it seems that there’s not much work/life balance 😵💫 it seems easy to get burnt out
how do we book a conversation
What’s the schedule look like
Do you buy your own materials and games or does your company provide them? Do you pick your resources you want or are they given to you? Tia
I purchased my own, I was happy to do so. Sometimes your employer will either lend you toys or give you a $15 toy allowance.
What industries need behavior technicians can you work in physical therapy clinics?
*What's the best way to find RBTs to hire?*
Do most RBT's buy their own supplies
