- Thanks to Groucho, I now know that, in addition to being a teen heart throb of the 1960s, Fabian was also a form of socialism: en.wikipedia.o...
This show is nothing if not educational.
COUPLE #1: Audrey Kaufman, another contestant in the insane "Mrs. Housing Development USA" beauty contest / Stephen "All Flash and No Cash" Wayne
COUPLE #2: Lillie Knighton, school teacher / Judy Krotzer, fan of Fabian (the singer, not the economic system)

Look at the manners these contestants had. The young girl was so poised and elegant, even the way people stood was different.
People weren't on speed like nowadays.
Indeed. Nowadays, going out in public is like walking onto the set of the Jerry Springer Show.
Hmm, I dunno, I think that was her outward appearance. In terms of her psychology and viewpoint I have a feeling she's closer to today's youths than you might think.
Such elegance...people are slobs now OR to tight of clothes. CANNOT STAND T-shirts on girls, women now.

HAH..TRUER WORDS WERE NEVER SPOKEN, Shadow!!!!
What happened to the human race ??? These people are polite well dressed and seem so decent ‼️ No tattoos no smirking and have ambition .
What is it with tattoos now..not attractive at all.
On the other hand, the first male contestant had little ambition. And tattoos have nothing to do with it
We as Caucasian's lost so much of our European culture today. Go to Europe i been there many times before the pandemic and most women (over 30) still wear skirts and dresses! Here they're fat and in stretch pants and many even with no make-up!!! Ahh 😠 discusting
The so-called "Great Society," "Immigration Act of 1965," "Affirmative Action," etc. all combined to undermine a once truly superb culture.
What happened to society?
Democrat degeneracy. Absolutely nothing else.
Groucho saves me most days from being sad .. he is a never fail solution ‼️
InstaBlaster...
Another terrific show. This is the first late one I've watched . . . Dare I say, we may be witnessing social change even here, so imagine what we've seen our lifetimes . .

What An Intertaining Program. So Many Were Broadcast In The 1950's While I Was Growing Up With My Loving Parents & Late Brother.
Thank U,
Ken Freitas
Merry Xmas.
That young girl was absolutely fantastic!
16...more like 26.
So mature, polite, well spoken at 16.
I agree. Gorgeous, innocent, got in some good lines and comebacks at Groucho.
I agree that this young lady was beautiful and her innocence of life is a tribute !!!
Was she ever.
Groucho making reference to GBS in relation to the Fabian Society shows the depth of his knowledge.
of the 121 shows I've watched to this point this interaction between Groucho and the 2 ladies was the funniest so far.
121, aye? I'm trying not to get addicted to this wonderful program. It's inevitable . . I'll catch up to you.
The 16 year old lady looks at least 30 by today's standards..interesting how similar adults and teens dressed, the two ladies here could both be wearing the same thing (although one dress is a little shorter), but same hair, jewelry, etc..today's teens and older dress like kids.
I have been watching YBYL episodes here, lately, and I've noticed the same thing. A couple of the teenage girls I mistakenly thought were twice their age.
@Brian You sir, are 100% CORRECT! God Bless Christian America.
@Brian You are funny. Keep talking.
We lost our European culture here 30 years ago. Go to Europe most women aren't fat, stretch pants wearing slops. They're still beautiful
There are NO standards today.
I wonder is Groucho and George were very angry at Chrysler for halting production of the Desoto's? They sure were beautiful cars!!
Yeah, 1961 was their last year. Wikipedia talks a little about their demise . . Not completely clear why to me, but evidently it's happened to many models. I don't know if that was the reason the show ended this year.
Groucho was sooo ahead of his time!!
I cant believe there was NO reaction at all when the lady came out in her bathing suit. She was stunning ! Groucho was very nice, not making any comments.
I agree with you. Women back then were so naturally beautiful and elegant. Even the way she walked out and posed was amazing! I wonder what became of her.
Well, that just restored my faith in humanity... Until it ended and I was reminded of the cesspool of degenerate "social justice" that we currently live in. Man, I miss my whole family that has since passed. Till we meet again.
I'd rather have social justice than the carnage of Vietnam. How many people have been killed because you can't use the N word anymore?
“Scratch myself? No.” 😂😂😂 Groucho was the greatest
Being a trucker for the last 38 years,I knew every town on this snd last episode.
Grouchos show makes me smile from start to finish
Judy would be about my age, born 1944.
George handled Groucho well.
He does his best..lol.
love groucho, the man was an institution.
The teacher may not have known the towns but today I doubt most students could have answered the questions she asked Groucho.
I'm old enough to remember having watch Groucho on TV in the 50s. What amazed me as a kid, even in the 50s, was that everybody in the audience was well dressed. They wore what we in the south called our "Sunday clothes," or as the old-timers referred to as our "Sunday go to meetin' clothes."😂
They dressed for airplane trip as well. Traveled coach lately? Not enough car air fresheners for descent...
The Mrs. Housing Development USA contestant, Audrey Kaufman, of Amarillo, Texas, has my vote for the all-around best-shaped human being.
I wonder what ever happened to her?
She looked a lot like a cross between Liz Taylor and Linda Carter . . . Maybe another one even closer, but she looked familiar.
@@aaronz7056 Her husband off'ed her for insurance money.
Pre Beatles for the USA. I wonder if she will change from Fabian to one of the Beatles as her favorite ?
That teacher figured taking the category of small states going to be simple, where is her teaching license ?
allex123, Actually, the category was cities and small towns of the U.S.A.
Groucho's city names mix up
was clever.😃🃏
Did anyone else get the George Bernard Shaw reference?
Yes.
Loved that "shout out" by Groucho Marx to Fabian Socialism in the UK (which almost all of us would be vastly better off with). I had barely ever heard of Fabian the singer though. George Bernard Shaw was a great writer-pacifist-socialist-feminist-thinker. One of my favorite GBS quotes: Two percent of people think, three percent think they think, and 95 percent would rather die than think.
@@alfredroberthogan5426 Except that Georgie Shaw was a vast contradiction in reality....many people have over the years quipped that while Yes, Shaw was a 'bit' of a feminist--only so long as they weren't around him,....and when they were...were rendered so that HE looked smarter....a Pacifist who would have 'rolled' over for Hitler and Stalin...and a Socialist---so long as the Socialist controlled all thought....Ergo--a real P.T Barnum piece of Humbug....LoL..
Nicholas Ennos you are more educated than most
this school teacher knew very little..
D Casper Exactly as I long suspected! LOL
She probably has early Alzheimer's
Those town questions are very hard. I would have never chosen that category. They are always hard.
@@mattmexor2882 They were only hard because you didn't know them! Except for OR I was in at least one town in each of the other states. :-)
@@marc7491 But you can't know what it is by one town unless you get lucky. often 2 or 3 of the towns they name could together represent a different state.
Groucho,loved women.So do i
Judy is beautiful!
“hypothesis” for “hypotenuse” ? and those were considered close? I guess Groucho woke up on the right side of the bed that day.
I think the fact that the man was unemployed for 8 months made them a bit more lenient
@@StabbingKnifes Actually, you can just hear an offstage voice (probably the judge) say "Close enough." By the way, how do you hang a hypothesis? With a hypotenuse, of course!
George would be great doing navigation voice overs…polite and proficient
For every generation, there'll always more to know.
16?? looks more like 26......................
A Judy Krotzer works for Southern Calif. Edison.
Not THAT Judy Krotzer! She was my aunt, & died several years ago.
this teacher had no knowledge of anything..
They shoulda had a dunce cap on hand for her. She certainly deserved it.
Back in time when Americans 🇺🇸 had ethics, honesty and decency towards others, but still had a small percentage of dishonest folks. No school shootings, or donuts in the intersections.
The false familiar famous black expectedly yell because scarf spindly soothe lest a defeated stinger. daffy, productive wasp
I suspect they should have chosen a different category eg. anything they knew something about eg. dematology.
The workable ocelot technologically attend because mailman continuously bake versus a guiltless glove. cumbersome, anxious sink
Lol seven layers…
The girl with the School teacher looks like Brenda Lee
Haha gay blades
Has Groucho been operated or why has he lost weight?
GIGI 1958 Laslie Caron is now 90. Rather attractive in her in her 30's then.
Get some of his Marx Bro’s movies. So good!
Groucho can be obnoxious at times. And comes off as a dirty old man, at times.
14:40 There's something weird about this girl.
There sure was! But remember all the contestants have been briefed beforehand and it's a big strain to remember your lines. Groucho ad libs all the time.
SKIN - really an incident???
Well you both cute chicks.
nice women back then but she is 16 must have live really hard.
I bet they never heard of twerking...
Well...there were times when the teenager looked at the schoolteacher like she had a bad odor or something. Pretty disrespectful.
Greg Lauer Timestamp? I didn’t:t notice anything.
the one i noticed was her wincing when groucho called both of them "chicks". she wasn't being disrespectful.
@@tomitstube She was being disrespectful... "What? Her a chick?! She's old!" Of course it's true, but the flattery went over her head and she didn't have the self-control to react in a less disrespectful manner. And no, Groucho wasn't trying to highlight the age of the schoolteacher by dubiously calling her young. Of course if you apply current feminist logic to the whole thing then you might think that the girl was offended that he'd use a "derogatory term". That's an analysis out of place, time, and context, but in any case if that were the case she'd have given the dirty look to Groucho not to the schoolteacher, wouldn't she? The girl also gave a dirty look when Groucho said "it's not a bad night's work for a little girl who's going steady". She doesn't see beyond herself very well.
This episode featured the last of the Ms. Housing Development contestant. Fenneman says the winner would be selected in two weeks which would have been episode #60-25 that aired on March 23, 1961. I cannot located that episode anywhere. Does anybody know who actually won the Ms. Housing Development contest?
Mrs. Housing Development...
Hopefully, not the least developed.
Why don’t the men peel off their clothes?
i'm sure if you ask them...
John Mortellaro Yowzers!
