It sounds like a nice laptop, not to big not too small and decent enough graphics for heavier work or lighter gaming. Surprised you skipped screen brightness. Did you try charging it with a 100w PD charger? Having a non-standard charger is giving me X13 vibes and (NOT USING COMPATIBLE CHARGER ENJOY BEING STUCK AT 60W!) and those aren't good.

You should have tested gaming with DLSS3 on not off. Of course your not going to get good FPS without it. In the future please test games on labtops like these with it on and off please
Looks like a cute little laptop, I am wondering though how much added benefit a 4050 @ 45 watt would give over the AMD's upcoming 780M iGPU. I've seen some reviews of a 4050 @ 115 watts where it becomes very capable for 1080p gaming (even for cyberpunk).
iGPUs have a loooonng way to go before they even come close to contemporary dGPUs in performance. The 680m barely eked past a 1050ti mobile on release. I'd put this at a 1060 mobile at best.
I prefer 15 inches as I think it hits the spot on size and portability. I'm currently using a 14inch laptop and the screen just seems a little too small for me. 15inch 16:10 laptops like the xps 15 are still quite small and have more screen estate than a 14incher.
Thank you for mentioning the noticalbe coil whine. I recently bought the aero 16 with rtx 3070ti and decided to return it after a day of usage since i was getting a headache after even 10 minutes of using it.
Is this it? The almost perfect laptop for me? Only main complaint is that it didnt have full size sd card reader. But I love that they went with superamoled instead of OLED, as it is less expensive.

It's an intriguing device, but I feel like this is going to compete with the MSI Stealth 14 and the Asus Zenbook 14 (Pro) and at least on paper they both seem to offer quite a bit more. Batterry life on 13th gen is kinda disappointing, I was hoping for an efficiency bump compared to Alder Lake. Well, maybe next gen ... or maybe the p-series will be better.
i'm not too surprised with the poor efficiency, the desktop 13th gen is less efficient than 12th gen too. However Intel has said they're working on a 50% efficiency increase for 14th gen and it should be out by the end of the year to hopefully they can compete with AMD in term of efficiency in laptop also let's be honest if you only need an efficient machine and don't need a lot of power macbooks are the way to go as much as i hate to say it
@@deneguil-1618 Efficiency on desktop is pretty much equal to 12th gen, they just pump in more juice for very small gains. I know that Mac would be the way to go, but I refuse to buy a notebook which won't let me take out my SSD which has my data on it. That's a hard no.
Intel raptor lake is still on 10+++ nm. So efficiency sucks. Meanwhile AMD on 4nm which is fraction of the size of raptor lake in terms of area. Rough maths 4x4 =16,10x10= 100. If AMD used hybrid architecture they could give 4X battery than intel. AMD 8 core CPU can perform well on 30W. You don't loose much performance on battery . Newer 16 core 7945hx is the fastest and processor when the CPU power at 120W 20% ahead of fastest intel i9 13980hx. AMD can run on silent mode and deliver adequate performance.

Man, that aero logo on the back and trackpack are cheese. Such a good looking laptop and they slap that ugly logo everywhere. Atleast just put it in a corner. Edit: Might just be me, but such a 14" would have been way better with a i7 1360P.

If it was an AMD laptop of 100w total. CPU could sip 30w and rest 70w can be given to GPU. Lucky us ,we don't have AMD this time. 96bit bus and 45W 4050 can occasionally gives Screenshots in RDR2 and Witcher 3 rem.

I'm going to say this again, there only needs to be 2 sizes for Laptops: 14" and 16", 18" is already questionably big for a laptop and 13" is just useless for any actual work. *THIS!* 4050 and 14" it's kinda sweetspot for me. I assume 4050 won't need a big chunk of adapter like a 3060 or maybe 4060. For a professional user that already have a workhorse PC, and need a combination of small, light, cheaper and enough performance laptop for any kind of post-production stuff.. this is a sweetspot.
Good for contrast though! Love my Surface, just swivel the screen a little when bright lights are in the back (a normal monitor won't let you do that...), with an OLED I can only imagine what the picture quality is like.

"just sit back to the wall and cover the window and turn off the lights and it will be fine" bitch then why tf is it a laptop if I have to bunker myself up to use it? the very idea of laptops is to be portable, screen glossiness is portability killer if it becomes a fucking mirror in a slightly lit office environment

Your own reflection in direct sunlight can be distracting, but having that much sun on you probably means you'd have to squints anyway, so what's the point in that?

I'm using an ASUS S13 with the AMD 6800U, & in power efficiency mode it can go 17-18 hrs watching movies/tv, & usually up to 12 for work. Not all chips are the same. The issue with AS is that you have to run MacOS, which is a minefiled of software compatability. Windows machine with an effifient chip are better for most people.
The broad market isn't interested in gaming laptop but high quality, day to day, get-the-job done products. Yet RUclips reviewers tend to focus on gaming, gaming, gaming. There is a real disconnect. Well done.

honestly, I don't understand why not test such a Cyberpunk 2077 on this laptop, since we have dlss3 and FG, the results could be spectacular for 45w. Just for curiosity. This test makes no sense. Completely pointless review, Cconsidering the specificity of this laptop (4050 45W)
Looks like a great laptop but man, Intel battery life is still so awful. I am pinning all my hopes on the 2023 Flow x13 which has an AMD processor to hopefully get a portable windows creator machine that actually allows you to work comfortably for a day at a coffee shop.
Why do reviewers still review the clicks on touchpads? If you wanna click, you use a mouse. If you're using a touchpad, you use gestures. Yet only about half the time do they mention which gestures are supported. Ah, well ... guess it's just one of those quirks about RUclips reviewers, like saying what they're gonna say before they say it. Ah, well, c'est la vie.
4050 is actually one of the mosy impressive GPU this launch, perfomance mostly on par with RTX3060, so you actually have a budget GPU that can play almost every game at FHD Ultra settings (no RT no upscaling of course)
Just sales drivel you're spouting! OLED is great until it sucks and you have to replace it. 14" is ridiculous for gaming 1" more would get it into acceptable range. Light weight is paid for with poor stability AND poor durability! ASUS is suspect since 2023, I wouldn't buy that brand at all anymore. Gigabyte I've generally bought for durability and I'm glad if its not overly light and flimsy! And pay attention, that your PSU connectors are grounded! There are some clowns among laptop makers!

I've been super jealous of the ASUS ZOG Zephyrus 14 lineup, always wanted one of these 14-in Gaming Laptops. Good to see more 14in options coming now.
The difference is that the zephyrus is made for gaming while this is made for productivity, so you will get higher frame rates with the Zephyrus

Other than U-series (15W), you want Ryzen chips for battery life. This is pretty much the standard rule with laptops.

New asus tuf with 7600s and Zen4 processor just managed to pull off 20 hours idle, so M1 domination is slowly waning in efficiency area

Looks like a great laptop but man, Intel battery life is still so awful. I am pinning all my hopes on the 2023 Flow x13 which has an AMD processor to hopefully get a portable windows creator machine that actually allows you to work comfortably for a day at a coffee shop.
Why do reviewers still review the clicks on touchpads? If you wanna click, you use a mouse. If you're using a touchpad, you use gestures. Yet only about half the time do they mention which gestures are supported. Ah, well ... guess it's just one of those quirks about RUclips reviewers, like saying what they're gonna say before they say it. Ah, well, c'est la vie.

Yeah! There's two other 14 inchers with a 4050 coming out! The Asus ZenBook 14x and the Acer Swift X 14.

4050 is actually one of the mosy impressive GPU this launch, perfomance mostly on par with RTX3060, so you actually have a budget GPU that can play almost every game at FHD Ultra settings (no RT no upscaling of course)

OLED is great until it sucks and you have to replace it.
14" is ridiculous for gaming 1" more would get it into acceptable range.
Light weight is paid for with poor stability AND poor durability!
ASUS is suspect since 2023, I wouldn't buy that brand at all anymore.
Gigabyte I've generally bought for durability and I'm glad if its not overly light and flimsy!
And pay attention, that your PSU connectors are grounded! There are some clowns among laptop makers!
