9:40 major correction lol, the iPod touch (the later gens) are really really easy to fix. The battery replacement does not require microsoldering, just regular old soldering and doesn’t take a rocket scientist. It’s just two metal pads to desolder (quite large) and solder back on again. The worst part is the adhesive and the display connector, really.
Unfortunately, the iPod Touch just doesn’t have a place in today’s world. A much better iPod Touch would be an iPhone 7 Plus with 256gb, tons of storage and big screen with good battery life if battery health is good. It would have been nice if Apple released an 5.5 in iPod Touch with the A15.
No 3.5mm on the 7, the 6s would've been the device your are looking for. I don't think I would have liked a semi-dedicated music player to be that big, the 4 inch screen strains the eyes but feels simplistic. Oh, the ipod touch 7 came with 256gb as well.
A big screen would defeat the purpose of a device like this, considering you'll most likely be bringing it alongside your main device and carrying two big phones can get tiring. Personally, there's no reason to get an iPhone 7 when the iPhone SE is both cheaper and still has all the pros of the iPod Touch 7 (without having the extra size of the iPhone 7, plus a headphone jack)
I had a few ipod classics going back to like 2009 or so and the current one was pretty old and the battery was pretty well shot. I upgraded to the ipod touch in 2020 and got the 128gb that was $299 at the time. The 256gb was $399 which was a lot more space than my 160gb classic so I figured I would be okay with the 128gb. I'm wishing now that I would have spent the extra $100 to get the 256gb one now since my 128 has run out of space even after removing unnecessary stuff from it. I have a 256gb ipad that was given to me around the same time and its still got plenty of space with my music and manga libraries. Unfortunately ipod touch was already discontinued at that time but I guess there is the option of refurbished ipods. The ipad of closest size and storage starts at like $500 or so which is a bit much for me lately. I still use my ipod touch all the time at work. I mostly use my phone in the car lately but I will switch on the ipod touch sometimes too. especially for a long trip. Can't really say I ever used my ipod touch for much else other than playing my itunes music library. I think Apple really did pretty good with the ipod series in general.
I used to use my iPod touch as a phone downloaded with Skype at the time. I was traveling between US and Tokyo and I had a US number and a Japanese number via Skype. Also used it to take tons of photos. Loved it.
I still have an ipod touch 6 I keep in my truck with mp3 files on it. It's a 16GB space gray. They are great looking devices. It has horrible battery life but still will last a week before I have to bring it in and charge.
I have been using an iPod for years for smart features like controlling GOVEE lights and FooBar2k. I dont use a smart phone I use this aswell as my nokia 8210.
Used an iPod Touch from 2017 to 2022. Before I was using an iPod Nano. Upgraded to an iPhone SE 3. Planning on upgrading to an iPhone SE 4 when that releases in Spring 2025.
I’ve wanted one of these for a while because my old ipod touch 5 just isnt enough for me and i LOVE the design and size of the later ipod touches. Even a regular iphone 6s or + is just too big for what an ipod should be, it feels like it takes away from the point of it. Too bad ipod touch 7’s are SO expensive.
I had an iPod touch 4G back in 2011 and let me tell you these things were all the rage in high school. Angry Birds, cut the rope, fruit ninja, Jetpack joyride and so on. Even more so since half the school had the Wi-Fi password for school and most of us had what was called at the time text free to message between each other. I think it was called Pinger later on but man those were the days. I bought the last seventh gen 256 GB iPod touch at my Apple Store back in May 2022. I got it in white. It’s still in its box and I’m not sure when I’m gonna open it. eBay prices are crazy for it right now if it’s brand new sealed.
I still use an iPod touch 5th gen for music and it works great on iOS 9.3.5 although I wouldnt reccomend using it for anything else other than music now as trying to watch videos on it is well hard as it keeps loading a lot and cant really download apps without it being slow and if you can use Airpods on it if it can connect only problem with music is if music is taking a long time with saving music onto a playlist with apple music for me so have a playlist on another device with apple music with sync library if you have the same problem as me
My iPod touch just died on me Monday nw I gotta take it to Apple to get an inspection & device replacement which is gonna be &129 + tax I’m hopefully it’s just a battery replacement I’m so upset I love that lil Buddy of mine i’m really against using my iPhone for streaming music I don’t want to be interrupted while listening to music
This iPod has a 4.0" screen. The iPhone SE has a 4.8" screen. And even then, on the iPhone SE things appear pretty cramped compared to on bigger iPhones.
I had one, I bought it in February 2020, and used it every day from then to November 2021 when I got an iPhone 7. I didn’t really care much about the iPod, then I gave it away to somebody I went to school with. He broke it beyond repair pretty quickly.
until the thouch they were just very strange devices that looked like unfinished concepts. the absolute most anappealing devices and extremely difficult to use. it makes no sense what so ever for it to become popular.
I still use my iPod 7th gen as a remote for Spotify or to stream apple music, It's an overall great little device in my opinion.
I hope they refresh it someday :(
@@vedanshchn That would be awesome!! Unfortunately I don't see that happening anytime soon.
You @0T_46 can’t even spell Spotify

The iPod touch 4th generation was my very first Apple device, and it was a really great device.
i still have mine from 2013 lol
ios 6.1.2 but the battery is dead.
Still use mine from time to time. Could use another battery but haven't gotten around to replacing it yet

iPhone 7 would be a better iPod touch, but a worse iPod because of the size. Just get an MP3 player at that point
My 1st ipod was the a blue ipod mini. I loved that thing!
Almost thought this was a 91Tech video with the thumbnail.
i have an ipod touch 5th gen. VLC is actually still supported on ios 9.3.5, and it works well for music, though i use the built in app.

You could probably find 256gb ipod touch 7s for less than 100 bucks used at this point

ipod + dumbphone, a classic duo
I still have mine.
It lives on life support with the charger.
I lost my iPod touch on the train was my favourite device for working out as so small. Amazing for running and listening to music!
Watching this on a iPod 7th gen lmao

What about compatibility with the AirPods?
Its fully compatible with any AirPods made before 2022.

I’m thinking about getting one, seen a new one in a gold color with 256gb. Close to $500 !
The iPod touch fifth, sixth and seventh generation all have the exact same camera lens as the iPhone 5, 5S & 6

I still love this thing
The iPod would be great for no wi-fi areas …. I hate when my playlist stops play on road trips due to SOS ONLY .
The only way to get an iPod experience now is the second-hand maket. Sad.

that headphone jack was STRETCHED
0:18 there were digital music players before the iPod so I don’t know if it was truly a foreign concept
The iPod wasn’t the first MP3 player, but it was the first that could store a thousand songs. Other players could only hold maybe a hundred or so.

No, i have one phone enough 😅
