  • Here is a video of my first go in a racing Caterham from my Dads perspective.. Thanks to one of the guys I do track days with, he gave me the opportunity to drive his Caterham around Oulton Park on one of our track days. The car is a 240 bhp k-series Caterham, it was running similar ZZR Avon tyres that were old but had a reasonable amount of tread.
Going around corners in the car felt great thanks to its upgraded suspension package and I had a good feeling of the car from the word go. The hardest bit to get right was the braking. The brakes were the weakest part of the car and had me off in the second chicane.
I was getting more comfortable by the lap and it gave me an incredible insight into how good it feels to drive a proper race car.

Curious actually IF you want to Amateur Race? Why not get a Formula Ford ?
FAR more capable/better designed and competitive machines.
