Shrink this video to 5 mins. Speed up on steps that don't actually matter much (like installing WinRAR, getting the icons, etc)
Get rid of unnecessary details
Leave links in about section for those unnecessary details then this tutorial video would be awesome.

Some of us are glad he went and showed us every little detail because it proves that he doesnt bullshit anything he does in his video.. and gives us more reason to trust that it works cuz there WAS no video editting done to it. I personally believed he did this the best and proper way

The splash will show when you put it in "AppNamePortable\App\AppInfo\Launcher\splash.jpg" folder. It will then show each time you start the program.

It's much easier to use the PortableApps.com Launcher considering you have the "App\Appinfo\Launcher\AppNamePortable.ini" pointing to the program executable.

The reason the installer is asking for information is because it is not in the "AppInfo.ini".
Also the installer fails when the "Help.html" is not there at least on the newest version of the PortableApps.com Installer.

Has the process or anything else changed since this video was made?
How does using this PortableApps compare to building the portable app using "Make SFX 5.6.54.164"? I can't use Vmware Thinapp, as the program I'm trying to build a portable app for is already installed. I also tried Enigma Virtual Box but the resulting .exe didn't work.

Instead of all that just use the PortableApps.com launcher app. You can also copy a AppNamePortable.exe(the launcher) from another app then rename it and it will still work.

In the PAF menu click on "Apps" then "Get More Apps","By Category" then under "Development" select "PortableApps.com Installer". The prerequisites must be satisfied for it to complete successfully. There must be a "help.html" in the same folder as "AppNamePortable.exe", The "AppNamePortable.exe" must be named the same as the launcher.ini at "AppNamePortable\App\AppInfo\Launcher\ AppNamePortable.ini" and the "AppNamePortable.ini" should point to the program executable, the "AppNamePortable.exe" must be mentioned in the "AppInfo.ini", the items in the "AppInfo.ini" must have entries in them. Whatever is missing from the "AppInfo.ini" will be asked for when running the PortableApps.com Installer.
