FEMA: I am a former FEMA contract inspector. 1) a person has to file a claim before any money can be distributed. This is done to identify victims and also reduce the ability to commit fraud. 2) Then an inspector like me, calls the homeowner and makes an appointment to meet the person at their home. This cannot be accomplished if the roads are impassable, etc. (remote inspections are possible but not the norm). 3) the damage report is filed the same day as the inspection is performed. 4). FEMA processes the report which can take several days depending upon the size of the damaged area. For instance, during Hurricane Harvey we were sending into FEMA up to 8,000 inspections per day. It takes a lot of manpower to process that many.
In my opinion, FEMA personnel are the most dedicated, hardworking ( we’d work sun up to sundown 7 days a week), and caring organization that I have been associated with in my 72 years.

Kamala Harris then announced that the government would provide a mere $750 to victims in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida. How will the people rebuild with $750? That is not even enough to cover a week’s stay at a hotel. It’s $50 more than they provided to the victims of Maui and BILLIONS less than they provided to those in Ukraine.

I am in Florida, living on a street with several flooded homes. There are several local areas where FEMA is handing out supplies and helping with filling claims.
Regular insurance doesn't handle floods. We have seen insurance adjusters at home in this week following the hurricane. Please stop this political nonsense. We don't need Trump causing more chaos. Let the people do the work they need to.

I am in Florida. I have lived all my life in Florida. I am currently 57 years old and live through more than enough hurricanes than I care to remember I live through more tropical storm than I care to remember, and I know from personal experience and a fact that, you always get an emergency payment for emergencies in the beginning and then they take care of you so I can say for certainty is that I am ashamed and shocked that people are saying this just to get a step ahead of the Democratic Party and the administration, the fact that they are willing to say thisis shameful

He's never been in diplomatic roles before, I'm not sure if that's the best fit, because he doesn't have a network of foreign diplomatic allies and friends, curated in a long diplomatic career, to rely on. Btw. that is one of Biden's advantages, I hope he'll make his long experience and his connections with so many people in international leadership available to a future Harris administration.
A pro would be Pete being a polyglot.
