    Since 2000, Celtic and Rangers, from their tinpot league, buying players at 2 and 3 million pounds, have got to the UEFA / Europa league final 3 times. I’ve seen English teams with 700 million pound squads struggling the conference and Europa. With the finances in place Celtic would be a top 6 club.

      If you include the fifa club World Cup in Europe since 2000 there’s been 13 occasions where an English team has won in Europe. Not to belittle Rangers or Celtic but they haven’t. I believe that any clubs who would join the premier league would struggle to fit in let alone do well in that and in European football at the same time.

    Nothing is ever a guarantee. Fanbase alone won’t guarantee top 6, that’s true. But there’s far more to consider than just fans turning up to watch the games. With Celtic in particular, they have that ‘Irish connection’ across the world with a fanbase of an approximately 12 million, with 1 million of these in North America alone and 800 supporters clubs globally, those are insane numbers and that’s the difference between Celtic and the likes of Leeds, Newcastle, Sunderland, Everton etc who have a good following but not anywhere near the same scale. Such a following will attract major global investors who lap up that kind of support. Not to mention the money they’d make from it with the club in a huge league. Taking that into account, plus the money that comes with playing in that league, plus sponsorships, plus spending power to attract better players along with a large fanbase would give them a great chance. Unlike Leeds, Newcastle, Sunderland Everton etc, Celtic have already carved out a global reputation and interest for their atmosphere and fanbase (particularly while they’re exposed to the champion’s league audience) and that’s while they’re currently a Scottish league member, imagine what kind of club they’d be in a bigger league.

    • @johntate5050
      @johntate5050 24 дня назад

      Oh the same old bullshit. Supporters clubs are tiny. Google them and you'll see they're all just made up from a couple of dozen ex pats. There are 80 supporters celtic clubs in the USA. That means you'll have about 2000 fans there. That's chicken feed. The big clubs measure their fanbase in millions.
      If you had this massive fanbase you wouldn't need the EPL because you'd be generating your own huge tv income. Sky would be all over you like a rash but the truth is, there isn't a global market for celtic and rangers.
      Face facts, you're journeymen in Celtic. You are there to make the numbers up. You are the same size as Bodo Glimt.

    • @emperorreign6154
      @emperorreign6154 24 дня назад

      Celtic’s fanbase IS measured in millions you little fool 🤣🤣🤣🤣the supporters club statistic was an example of fan outreach on a global scale, not how many can physically attend the buildings you actual muppet, unless you’re wilfully blind or deliberately glossing over where I specifically said their fanbase is measured in the tens of millions. 12 million globally at least. The only EPL clubs that can remotely compete with those numbers are United and Liverpool. Of course, that’s if you don’t include foreign glory hunters who have nothing to do with English football who’ve jumped on the backs of Dubai United or Rasputin FC when Abramovich was running the roost there. I know it’s a bit embarrassing for your little brain to comprehend a Glasgow club having a bigger fan count than the overwhelming majority of the EPL members but come to terms with it little man, you’ll sleep better.

    I support neither Celtic or Rangers but am Glasgow born and North Lanarkshire bred (still live in North Lanarkshire) and Andy simply doesn't get it. It's not about the size of the two clubs alone, but what it means to succeed as a player at either of the two. The lure of playing for Celtic or Rangers if they were in the EPL would be ENORMOUS for a player, and where Andy doesn't get it, Darren does. He knows that if both Celtic or Rangers were in the EPL the opportunity to be set for life, way beyond playing or media work and the riches it brings, is a huge lure. It's basically Legend status, and even with both playing in a not great league, the players who stick around, drink in what it means to play for either club, and succeeds, means they go recognised among these clubs international support.
    It's just different up in Glasgow and North/South Lanarkshire compared to bloody Bournemouth or even Tottenham, City, and I need not go on. When Ange's time is over at Spurs, regardless of his level of success, he will confirm that. Liverpool and Manchester United? Different story, but not one in which those two would automatically dwarf either Celtic or Rangers when it comes to expectations and overall brand, if they were all in the same league.
