My newest arranger is keyboard is still my Yamaha PSR-295 that was bought new in 2006, I also have a Casio CT-700 and a Yamaha PSR-18 that belonged to my late maternal grandparents, basically any keyboard with auto accompaniments is an arranger but I won't talk too much about Yamaha Porta Sound keyboards but the PSS-790 also qualifies as an arranger. The Roland Juno DS76 is a workstation not an arranger, the Juno DS76 is ideal for music production whereas the other keyboards are for one man band situations. Last year I very nearly bought a Tyros 5 out of jealousy if I'm brutally honest but I used my so called concern about Halion possibly not working on a future computer as an excuse but I'm glad I didn't in the end even though I had to quit my job to stop myself from foolishly spending over £2,000 of my hard earned cash unnecessarily! Also too many people are of the belief that having the latest flagship arranger is what makes them a good player when in actual fact it's your playing skills that matter more than the keyboard. I have heard keyboard players with a GEM "workstation" that play better music than some people who have a Tyros 5 or a Genos and even somebody who sounded good playing a Yamaha PSS-570. To me arranger keyboards are supposed to be fun!
Are arranger keyboards worth buying if you only want high quality instrument sounds to use in your productions even if your not bothered about the auto accompaniments?
As you can hear, the Pa4x has some very nice high quality sounds and effects build in. However, if you are not interested in the auto accompanying functionality, a workstation or synthesizer would probably be a better choice for you than an arranger keyboard.
@@davidosolo In October I came very close to buying a Tyros 5 which sounds almost on par with some of the newer Yamaha Motif synthesizers and I also noticed many of Halion's sounds are very similar. @@davidosolo Given that I made that comment either just before I was about to buy a Tyros 5 or after I decided not to as a result of my resignation and termination of employment I do now 100% agree that a workstation or synthesizer ( software or hardware ) is better for music production than an arranger. With a workstation you can create any sort of sound you want whereas arrangers have very limited sound editing options. But if you want more realistic sounds Kontakt or EastWest sample libraries are the way to go. However if I was serious and wanted a keyboard that was better than my old Casio CT-700 then maybe a Casio CTX-5000 or Korg EK-50 would be worth considering as I purposely use something like that if I want a more digitized 90s sound like jazz organ but at the same time I would probably prefer a Korg M1r or a Korg 01/W or a Korg 01R/W. I think I will wait until module versions of the Korg M1 and Korg 01 come up on EBay although the M1r and 01R/W are super rare. I agree in general Yamaha always had more realistic sounds regardless weather it's an entry level keyboard, midrange keyboard or a flagship keyboard. Any keyboard with auto accompaniments is an arranger regardless of weather it's a cheap entry level keyboard, a mid range keyboard or a flagship keyboard like Tyros 5 or Genos.
You don't need a Genos if you know how to use a PSR keyboard. All Genos styles work fine in my PSR-950, maybe even better. I have posted a S950 verses Genos comparison at youtube just to prove my claim.
@@gearmusictech well arranger keyboards have an awful habit of sounding like " arrangers"and Yamaha's psrx 900 is no exception despite its soundset. The sounds are great except the Organ"s that don't have a Leslie slow/fast speed up/slow down but the effect is built into the sample!! SX700
CORRECT ! YAMAHA PSR-S950 IS THE BEST FANTASTIC MACHINE IN WHICH ALL THE REST ARE BASED ! ALL PSR-S950 REVIEWS ARE 5 STARS EVERYWHERE ! A PIECE OF ART !
PSR SX900 way better than PSR-S950. I'm a PSR SX900 owner.
IT ALL STARTED WITH THE PSR-S950 ! ALL THE REST ARE LITTLE ADS AND CHANGES. @@beloncfy
Yamaha only ))
I agree in general Yamaha always had more realistic sounds regardless weather it's an entry level
keyboard, midrange keyboard or a flagship keyboard. But some of Casio's entry level keyboards
are in fact better than Yamaha entry level keyboards or at least Casio have better organ sounds
compared to Yamaha entry level keyboards.
No it's not arranger keyboard try Yamaha genos
Any keyboard with auto accompaniments is an arranger regardless of weather it's
a cheap entry level keyboard, a mid range keyboard or a flagship keyboard like Tyros 5 or Genos.
I'm sorry but, you don't know anything about Arranger Keyboards!!
Are you able to make a Top List, without mentioned Genos, Tyros 5, Korg...
You don't need a Genos if you know how to use a PSR keyboard. All Genos styles work fine in my PSR-950, maybe even better. I have posted a S950 verses Genos comparison at youtube just to prove my claim.
All keyboards with auto accompaniments are arrangers. The only thing that's incorrect
is that the Roland Juno DS76 is a workstation not an arranger.
Korg pa4x and pa5x are the best
Ha ha ha!
Lo
I think you picked the worst group of arrangers possible!
What would be your top 5?
@@gearmusictech well arranger keyboards have an awful habit of sounding like " arrangers"and Yamaha's psrx 900 is no exception despite its soundset. The sounds are great except the Organ"s that don't have a Leslie slow/fast speed up/slow down but the effect is built into the sample!! Unforgivable in such an expensive instrument and it sounds cheesy despite ( or because of?) The styles..I would choose the Yamaha psr9000pro over the psr-x any day although rare now.. the ketron Event is the most mind blowing arranger out there and Roland BK-9 ( again rare ) is a dramatically better product and manages to sound like a workstation not an arranger, Korg's PA2X pro was magnificent sharing sound technology with the Triton Extreme and all the better for it and the medeli akx 10 has very similar specs to the Yamaha psr-x 900 and is £1000 cheaper!! but hey .I've owned them all but don't own an arranger any more . I have a Clone wheel organ and a 16channel multitrack track and a drum machine these days
Korg pa1000. Matchless. No 111111
JAJAJAJAAA...JAJAJAJAJAAAA....ARRANGER PARA NIÑOS...ANIMO CON ALEGRIAS..VERY GOOD..
You are exactly 100% wrong. The best arranger keyboards upto 2023 are: *YAMAHA GENOS 2* and *KETRON Event 76*
And the next thye are:
*Yamaha Smart Electric Piano S500*
and then *Yamaha PSR SX900*
Good shout. I'll add those to my list for future reviews. Thank you!
