If anyone's wondering how blind soccer works, the ball is modified to make a rattling sound, all players are required to say something when going after the ball, and there's a guide on the outside for each team that gives them instructions
And they can feel where they are in the field! The dimensions of the field are basically second nature for them. Beckham tried it and it's haaaard. Mans found the far post, his shot is mighty powerful too.
@@komiteunofficialaccount9224 that was going to be my next question. I can understand knowing that the opponent's net is "sorta that way" but to have the precision to actually score outside of penalty kicks is wild.
This is so cool. I'm on the US Blind Soccer team, and we never get coverage. Thank you for showing people our sport. I'm absolutely sharing this with my teammates.
Do you understand the red card call? I don't know the rules of blind soccer at all, but it seems like the opponent ran into him from behind. What was he supposed to do? Apologies if this question is troublesome given your vision.
As someone has been a blind fan of the channel for many years, it's cool to watch you break down a blindness sport. You should try to catch goalball during the Paralympics. It's a very unique game that is not closely based on any other sport, and there are no sighted people involved in the playing of that game … except the referees, of course.
I played in my city's men's softball league when I was in my 20's and I had a decent career, nothing to truly brag about but my greatest memory was playing CF in a District tournament Championship game. We were up by 1 in the bottom of the 7th and there was 1 out, Guy on third. Batter hits a deep fly to center and I catch it and throw a frozen rope to the plate to nail the guy for a Championship winning double play. I didn't do much at the plate that game but my friends still talk about that play when we're around each other.
I'm now a full blown Cook'n'Bacon fanatic. Never thought Id watch Olympic Diving, but I literally Googled diving dates for 2024 Paris Olympics and set alarms on my phone 😅😅
@@ryanbach2748 In the past I have found trying to watch the olympics basically impossible unless I somehow manage to watch them live. There is some highlight reels and whatever, but to actually watch the olympics later in the day or the next day was so hard.
@@ryanbach2748I have thoroughly enjoyed the Olympics so far this year. My son even watched Simone Biles Team performances with me when it was happening, so that was awesome. Cook n Bacon won Silver at the very beginning of the Olympics, and that stoked me up enough to watch more stuff that I would have never watched before.
These videos are so fun! I love the exposure to all these different more niche sports that I truly never would otherwise watch or even know about. Also, A is my fan of the week.
Context to sychronized diving scoring. Each pair performs 6 dives in an event, the first two have a difficulty modifier ceiling of 2.0 (while the tough, highest level dives go up to roughly 4). So with that in mind, divers choose relatively easy dives for their first two and bag the 2.0 modifier, which is what we were able to see with the first two dives shown here.
I think we need a deeper breakdown on the blind soccer. How do they know where the ball is? How are they just not constantly running into each other? So many questions Jomboy!
Blind football is at the Paralympics, but USA did not make it to Paris (Check back in 2028.) However Goalball, a blind volleyball/soccer hybrid where everyone on the court has the blackout visors, has the men’s team USA starting August 30th. 👌🏽
Also we need some more darts coverage, NA has a pro tour that shows all their events live on YT, called Championship Darts Circuit, might be some cool things there, you should give it a look!
We need a Jomboy breakdown of the synchronized jumping event in Paris asap. In the first jump, Cook & Bacon were clearly more in sync than China but China was rated better.
Jomboy is a Baggies fan??? That’s news to me! Come down to the Hawthorns my friend and bask in the rollercoaster of emotions that is being a West Brom fan!
In german amateur football, sorry soccer, a ref once yellow-carded a one armed player for not doing a two-handed throw-in as per regulations. Ref got a lifelong suspension after that🤣
When you said triple 18, I thought you meant triple 12 and was confused by how someone would go for that checkout. Made sense when I realized the dart footage was MIRRORED.
Cook and Bacon took home the Silver medal @JomboyMedia is there any way to get a breakdown of their performance? Or a little update of some kind. I know Olympic footage is more guarded than Nasa images, but maybe some sort of Olympic "Things You Missed" episode that caps off Cook n Bacon medaling in Paris would be awesome!
You know what... I think there might have been a lil' sneaky play by the hitter at bat out. I don't know if the loss of balance was intentional on his last swing, but tied 5-5 bottom 9th with a 1-1 count he's got a great opportunity to run a little deception play. So he gets all jumpy and might have blocked the catchers line of sight right as the guy on 3rd takes off. If the catcher was already taking his sweet time, he would've had no idea chance of getting the ball back in time
I’ve watched blind hockey before; it’s kind of the opposite, where the goalie is completely blind while the skaters can be varying levels of blind. They play with a big ass metal puck that rattles around a lot.
@ exactly 4:00 minutes I'm the only one who sees Ed O'Neil in the blue shirt? Jomboy is distracted by the good-looking lady divers? Busy with Cook n Bacon puns in his head? Come on, Jomboy!
I wonder if that swing on the steal home was on purpose to further distract the catcher. Maybe walking back to the box further obstructed the view at just the right time.
If anyone's wondering how blind soccer works, the ball is modified to make a rattling sound, all players are required to say something when going after the ball, and there's a guide on the outside for each team that gives them instructions
