Venice is stunning, try to go when there are less people BUT also just go away from the center a bit and it's lovely- most folks just go to St Marks, there is so much beauty in Venice. In Florence go to the Boboli Gardens for a stunning view of the city.
I'm hoping to go to Cinque Terra in the next year, any views as to whether its better to stay in Genoa or La Spezia. I know Genoa is further away but whether it has more to offer.

Hello, I was in Cinque Terre in August. La Spezia is closer. However, we did a day trip to Genoa. Both cities are nice
