This map was one of the 4 SF maps released in 2.4, while being the least popular of them. I like the atmosphere in this map but wasn't really able to find people play on it back in the days in 2004 and 2005.
Oh wow, I didn't realise this map went as far back as that. I started playing AA in 2008... :) I used to really like Blizzard back when I started playing, there was always a good few people on a Blizzard server by that time. Was great to play it again with a good number of people on the server the other night! :D
@@Mr_Gunman-GB This map was released along with SF PCR, SF Courtyard, and SF Watertreatment in 2.4.0 in 2004, when I was in my first year of senior high (I'm now 35...). People at that time seemed to like Courtyard the most, while not many played Blizzard because the gameplay often ended up being very slow-paced. Assault teams were often afraid of attacking because this map was difficult for them. I personally prefer SF PCR, but it's probably the second least popular map of the four. I live in Taiwan, Asia, so in the past, there were never many people that played this game, and we mostly had to deal with a 200ms ping to play on West Coast US servers, as that was the lowest ping we could have on most official/leased servers.
@@uprisingjc_sub6664 Those four maps are great. Both Blizzard and Water Treatment were favourites back in the day, as I like the more slower paced maps. We still play all of those maps now, though I think PCR is probably one of the least popular with players today. People now tend to like smaller maps with not as many camping places or so many places to go for the objectives (Personally I think PCR is great.... lol). That's a shame about your ping, that must have sucked. :( I think even now, there's very few, if any west coast server online.
@@Mr_Gunman-GB I like the 4 maps, too, but unfortunately they ended up being not that popular. Popular maps in the past, to name a few, were urban assault, insurgent camp, pipeline, border, bridge crossing and sf hospital. I liked this game so I had to deal with the ping issue. All the Asian players faced this problem. To compensate for the ping disadvantage, I tended to not rush that much and listened to the enemy footstep as much as possible because my bullets go slower than most other players’ due to the 200 ms ping.
