Love the video great work sir thank you for posting
You are very welcome, Kevin. I really enjoyed this kit immensely, it's truly an amazing and unique aircraft!
A seriously cool aircraft and a beautiful build.
That tinted cockpit cover looks just right on the finished model.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for you kind words, Alon :-) The Osprey is a marvel of engineering. I really enjoyed putting her together! Thanks for visiting :-)
Great video of a very well done modeling job. I like how you took a moment to explain steps that answered some of my questions. Mine arrived in the mail today, and I will be starting soon after some more study and RUclips observation. Great job!
Hi, apologies for my late reply - life got in the way of the hobby. Thank you for your kind words. I hope you managed to build her up. I'm sure she turned out great!
I built the 1/72 version of this kit when it first came out more 25 years ago. The parts layout is almost, if not identical to the 1/48th kit. Just a little less surface detail. Mine didn't have any vortex generators on the wing for one.
Since the kit came out before the real one flew the marking scheme provided was a provisional gray and green camo scheme. I didn't like that so I chose the scheme the Marines were painting C-130s at the time. I was prescient. That's how they ended up being painted when they finally got out to the flightline.
Excellent! I came across the grey & green camo scheme myself, while building this kit, and thought it looked interesting. But you have a good eye, as the Marine Corps colors do look the best. It is kinda freaky that you preempted the camo pattern, though :-) Nicely done!
Great presentation and build.
Thank you very much :-)
An excellent build and kit. Someday I hope to build one in the "hypothetical" Navy ASW version - back in the mid 1980s there were SERIOUS plans to buy a fleet of Osprey for the Navy to serve in the ASW/ASuW mission on the carriers - replacing the Sea King. BUT - the S-3B Viking had just entered service and the Navy shelved the idea.
Hi Robert, Apologies for my late reply. I have been living in interesting times, haha. That sounds like a brilliant idea. I remember seeing a completely different color scheme when I was researching for reference pics, and was wondering if that's the one you're going to do. Unfortunately I never saved the picture, but if it is the one I think (white and dark green, if memory serves?) it would be great to see how your Osprey turns out. She's a truly remarkable machine!
Now that was really cool.
Thanks very much, Dan! Much appreciated! I don't know exactly why, but I really love this aircraft :-)
@@OstrichLongneck I get it, it is very cool and unique. It's like the Harrier both airplane and (knida) helicopter. My have favorite aircraft too, I really love the look of the F104 Star Fighter. You did an awesome job on your Osprey.
Wow she turned out fantastic excellent job she looks amazing👍👌🍺🍺🍻😎
Thanks, Travis. I really enjoyed this build!
Having been inside one of those special ''heli-planes'' in a static display, I always wanted to build one as a model in 1/48. You do the model justice with the paint and build quality. Nicely done.
Thanks very much, George. You are most kind :-) I can highly recommend the Italeri model, as it came together without any issues. I'm sure you'll enjoy building one of these, too!
And *wow* at having been inside one, by the way! That must have been amazing!
@@OstrichLongneck Thank you for the tip, it is in my "to do " list. About the plane, I was not aware of a third, smaller, engine. So you can imagine my surprise when the US Marines (if I recall correctly) fired the small one up.
Awesome build! Great attention to small details 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks :-) It was great fun to build.
I know for a fact I was subbed to you, not sure why it said I wasn't....
Anyhow, Great build! Looks amazing!
I just picked this kit up yesterday so I'm glad it's not a terrible kit, just needs some TLC.
Hi Kalan 🙂I've always loved the design and versatility of the Osprey, and really enjoyed this kit. I'm sure you're going to do an awesome job on this one, as always!
Thanks for the weighted nose tip.
I'm glad I could help in a small way :-) I hope you have a lot of fun with your model. It's an awesome model kit, definitely one of Italeri's best! I'm sure you're going to do wonderful things with it! Hope to see some pictures soon 😄
That turned out great!!! Excellent work!!!
Thank you very much :-) You have an awesome channel! Subbed!

@@lawrencetimothylauzon6499 Hi, not too sure, but I think I used the 2mm.
@@OstrichLongneck what putty you use that I use Vallejo putty
Lower body dark ghost or light
Light Ghost Grey for the lower part - Actually, it's hard to see the difference on camera.
@@OstrichLongneck is it add water or thinner
@@lawrencetimothylauzon6499 Thinner is always better 🙂👍
@@OstrichLongneck I used lacquer thinner
I saw several of these flying two years ago when President Trump visited the UK.
Nice :-) That must have been spectacular!
