    I felt anemic for years, the Dr's checked the hemoglobin saying that it's up, yet the symptoms were real 😢. Then my heart started racing every time I got up. I finally got a Dr who would listen, and she checked my Ferritin levels as well as my vitamin D levels, which turned out both were extremely low. Which I was told either deficiency would give me these symptoms 17 years of suffering when I needed iron and vitamin D.

    Both my husband and I are deficient in vitamin D, we take vitamin d3 (10,000 iu's) daily. Mine has taken a year to increase 74 from 14. I had to learn on my own that vitamin d2 didn't help at all. And I take magnesium to help as well.
    These doctors know what they are talking about, unlike modern medicine doctors nowadays.

      For every 5000 iu D3 you need 180 mcg of K2. Pharmacist, physicians, etc are not trained on supplements....they are trained on how to prescribe drugs so you can be dependent on it for the rest of your life.

    I was very sick, lethargic, and bloated for about a year, then I ordered some premade healthy meals from a local company, and I felt amazing. I wasn't sure what caused the difference until I saw the amount of protein in their food. I have been increasing my protein intake, and feeling much better, but here's my question, how much protein is too much. I'm glad to feel better, but I don't want to over do it either

      start following dr Izabella Wentz, if you suffer from hypothyroidism; the sooner you start following her, the better for your Health. For me it's been like day and night, since i started implementing tips from her book The Root causes of hashimoto's thyroiditis. She's researched and applied her tips on her self! She is healthy today.

    • @belmafilipovic3752
      @belmafilipovic3752 7 лет назад +5

      Right (me too btw), however the thing is that 97% of all thyroid patients in the West are actually having the autoimmune version of hypothyroism, called Hashimoto's diesease. Had i known that at the time i was diagnosed, ít would have saved me some pain. Read dr. Izabella Wentz's page if you want, it's something like thethyroidpharmacist dot com, i Think. She too was diagnosed with hypothyrpoism at first. The conventional medicine is not the answer for ppl with any autoimmune disease, rather functional medicine is. This was a sincere advice; and please forgive me if i crossed the line in any way.

    My build is frail as a woman. I was following all standard health advice-mostly plant based-no processed foods and I'm convinced it almost killed me. My weight was so low. Hemoglobin of 7, declined mental function, no recovery after workouts or energy. Once I changed my diet, increase of iron/hemoglobin, I recover from my workouts and my mental outlook is so much better. I think frail people like myself suffer more from not having enough animal foods/proteins. Thank you both! Love this channel.

      You are so right. I'm happy you recovered from failing health. When people are advised to follow a vegan diet it can be detrimental to one's health. Humans were intended to eat animal proteins and our bodies suffer without them. God bless you and stay healthy.

      You must have been doing it wrong. Sorry you had that experience. Iron is not only in green leafy veggies. Peas like lentils and beans also have iron in it. Plus, you need vitamin C to absorb iron. Just cause you take it in does not mean your body is absorbing it properly. Especially if you have any gut issues. Ans working out does not give energy to someone who is iron deficient. That a silly idea. The only way to lose iron is through blood loss. So not taking in enough iron is not the problem, losing too much blood is. You could have resolved that by getting a one day treatment called an iron infusion. Also, iron bonds to dairy foods like milks, and results in malabsorbtion of iron. Most dont know this.

    They are very right about all of these vitamine and mineral deficienciesm. But some of this is very relative to the race, ethnicity and age. Especially when we talk about absorption of minerals your body must have the proper enzymes to break it down . Enzymes are relative to where you are located and ancestry example: most people in the continent of Africa have some sort of dairy intolerance whether it be lactose or casien

    Good information in general, but I don't understand the need for nutrients that aren't (and have never been?) readily available in nature. K2? Did great-grandma eat natto? Ha. I think you mentioned that K2 is in raw cheese, and no mention of other foods that have it. I've also heard/read that K2 is found in liver, egg yolk, pineapple, coconut, avocado, watercress, and some fermented foods. So why not mention those? And why push a supplement, isolated K2, with such an emphasis when if we eat some of these foods mentioned, we should be able to get this nutrient as nature intended with all the other synergistic goodies in those whole foods. As someone who used to take lots of supplements, it now makes more sense to me to avoid them except maybe on a temporary basis. Otherwise, we're really messing with nature, delicate balances that we can't fully understand...thinking we know better. That never ends well. (Hint, look at our world, having applied so much of this kind of thinking, filled with sick and miserable ppl seemingly hellbent on totally destroying ourselves and the planet.) You have no way of knowing the effect of taking an isolated supplement on the body, especially long-term, whether it will cause some other imbalance. Oh but wait, if it does, then there'll be another supplement for us to take (etc). Not really so different from how pharmaceuticals harm the body. If we've screwed nature up so badly that we can no longer get it straight from nature, then, uh, we're pretty much toast anyway. But I'm still hoping we can rectify what we've majorly f*cked up. Hoping.

    i'm vegan and I get plenty of iron from spinach. I lack energy because I don't sleep enough. Been taking care of grandchildren for the last two months. I normally take vitamin D and suppliments, but I have been forgetting with everything else going on. Now I got the flu or something. Stress is a big thing with me also.

      Is it a health issue you're having? Iodine isn't mentioned in the video, but it's an important nutrient for many things and many people are deficient (women more than men). For years and years I had irregular periods, but if I'm taking iodine every day, I've experienced "to the day" regularity with my period, it's also lighter and shorter. You should be able to find more info online if you need to, one doctor who uses iodine with his patients is Dr. David Brownstein.

      Whether its healthy or not doesnt matter. Its unecessary because we got enough plant food to eat. Just leave out the meat and safe the planet everyone seems to be sooo concerned about when it comes to the evil businesses and the lack of regulation they have. How about taking action and not using the government as an excuse for doing nothing but virtue signaling.

    Iron would likely not be an issue of copper and retinol were up. Zinc is important but it can cause copper deficiency. Adding organ meats is a wonderful way to get the iron recycling system back on line! We only need a tiny amount of iron per day if the system is working. My vitamin B is normal as well. Organ meat all the way! My hyperthyroidism normalized in THREE months eating prometaboloc. No supplements except magnesium drops and some collagen. No nuts or raw veggies.

QUESTION: if I'm taking all the suggested supplements, is there any chance one could cancel out the other? I'm vegetarian and take a prenatal because of the amount of nutrients they provide. But id like to add vitamin D, probiotic, and vitamin k supplements on top of the prenatal.
