- Today we are trying to get some garden work done before even more rain heads our way. The weeds are about to take our corn field. I am also cooking a farm to table supper tonight with canned venison, green beans, homemade biscuits and the best chocolate chip cookies! You can find the recipes below!
Simple Biscuits
2 cups self rising flour
3-4 Tbsp of lard or crisco
Sprinkle of salt
1 cupish of buttermilk
Set oven to 425 degrees. Preheat your pan. Cut lard into flour until there are pieces no bigger than the size of a pea. Add milk, mix until you see no more dry flour, then stop. Remove pan from oven, grease with lard or butter. Flour your hands, make a ball of dough the size of biscuits you want, place on pan. Flatten slightly. Bake around 15-20 minutes or until biscuits are as brown as you want them :)
Chocolate Chip Cookies
2 cups AP flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
12 Tbsp melted butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 whole egg
1 egg yolk
2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
Set oven to 325 degrees. Combine flour, salt and baking soda in a small bowl. In a larger separate bowl combine melted butter, brown sugar and white sugar until smooth. Add egg, yolk and vanilla to sugar mixture, mix until all is combined. Add dry ingredients slowly to wet ingredients. Mix until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips. Spoon out mixture using a tablespoon onto cookie sheet. Bake for around 15 minutes until the edges are slightly brown and middle is still gooey. Allow to cool on cookie sheet. Enjoy!

I just love the way you are raising your children. They are growing up to be helpful and competent adults. Good job!
I just want to commend you all on the quality of life your giving your children. I enjoy watching the time you give your children and with every job they do how you praise and encourage them to learn. These are the lessons that our children can use to be better adults. Thank you for sharing. Love to the family.
I agree wholeheartedly! They are raising their children right. Jacob is a little man and Maggie is a sweetheart. Both are willing and helpful. It blesses me to see such a wholesome family. May God bless them.
Love your channel. If more children were being taught the way you are raising yours the world would be a better place ❤
Absolutely agree! Makes you wish life could go back in time. Meghan and Andy you are doing life right.
Meagan you truly are the perfect woman. I pray that one day I can find a queen like you to give my heart to and share my life and grow old with.
I SO want you to continue to succeed here on RUclips. I will tell anyone to come check you out. You're an amazing family, hard-working and smart as a whip, and those babies of yours just melt this ole grandma’s heart. So sweet and they're such good little helpers. I pray the good Lord continues to bless you all. Ty for sharing your knowledge and work ethic. I pray it is picked up by more and more young people. Love, hugs and blessings ~Lisa
"Til it feels right, and your ancestors tell you to quit." That's right, sister!
My goodness, Maggie running the camera !!! Best narrating I’ve ever heard. Precious
Oh my goodness, watching Jacob is like watching myself at his age driving the tractor, working in the woods, 70 years ago in Maine
Those future farmers are amazing kids 💯
Makes me happy to see the kids learning where their food comes from. Good job parents!
The most beautiful thang in the world to me is y’all teaching them kids

My grandfather, who would be 132 years old next month, told me when I was about 7 years old that if a garden would not grow weeds it wouldn't grow a garden. I've been growing a garden for over 70 years and would like to share some of my knowledge sometime
Jim we would love to hear your advise on gardening! My grandma would have been 122 years old this next month! I learned load of wisdom from that precious little lady. I love anything the elder generation could share with all of us! God bless. Leslie-Alabama
Would love to hear the knowledge you have! My Grandpa's gardens were his pride and joy. He spent every morning and evening at his gardens. I learned so much, but would love to hear more from you.
God bless our grandparents 💗
Good evening Megan and Andy. I simply wanted to say your children are amazing. You are doing a fantastic job with them and they will be able to pass everything along to the next generation as well. Bravo!!🙏👍🎉😊
Good to see down to earth people. The world is so upside down right now.

Early congratulations 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Good morning over there. Sure enjoyed the video with all you've been busy with. Sure enjoyed the meal you prepared today also , sure ate a lot of the same except for the cookies while we lived in Colorado. Sure miss that part of Colorado but had to leave the altitude so I could breathe better. The gardens look great and hope the give you all a big harvest in return for your hard work. Maggie Mae is going to be the great cook in a few years, she sure enjoys helping you and Jacob is doing great farming too. Stay safe and keep up the great videos and fun you all have around there. Fred.
Too bad Crows don't eat Potato bugs 😉
Your kiddos🥰🥰🥰. We only have 1 of 5 still home-he’s 15-I sure miss a house full of littles!
All I got to say is I love your camera crew
I love watching your videos. I wish I lived in an area like yours, I despise the city. I hate San Diego. God bless you and your family.
San Diego is not the city I grew up in anymore! We left there in '73. I couldn't live there @ all. The country is a much better place to be. All these years later I now am in Western North Carolina.
Love love your channel/videos!
Just watched your dill pickle video! Didn’t know you had a cookbook! So I just ordered your cookbook! Excited to read all your recipes! Seems like we cook a lot a like! 😊

Hey y’all. Finally got some sunny days. Andy Guess what I’m doing? I’m finally making some hay. Chance of rain again Thursday and sunny again Friday. So I chanced it. Fingers crossed. 🤞🏽
That’s mommy daughter love kids need to learn those tv. And all no good youare superb-in our house
We love garlic scrapes! We blanch them and then chop up fine and then make a compound butter. Once rolled and ice cold, slice and then freeze. Great on steak and pork chops, but i can tell you it is great on anything and everything!
I think that you have a great looking garden and I can’t wait to see ya gather up your potatoes
Great! Train them young to farm. It’s fun with tractors like that!!! 🙌 😇🤴😇 🙌
Maggie did a great job as the camera person.

I've been binge watching your wonderful videos. I've watched so many recently that I swear I'M DEVELOPING AN ACCENT! 😆 🤣
Me too. Actually mine is coming back. So crazy!! I love this family. 🥰
Sweet Maggie 🥰
Thanks so much for sharing.
Don't know how to tell you how deeply I enjoy your channel. I am one of 12 children (from MA); our Dad was from WV. Sadly, he died young, leaving Mom w/ all 12 of us (ages 1-20). In my formative years ('til age 6 when he passed) I heard that similar accent from my beloved Daddy. So, there's that. Then, my Hubby & I enjoy so much about your channel: the family values, the work ethic, your personalities. We got completely dedicated, though, when we heard you belting out those hymns w/ your Mom & children 🫶🏼 LUV Hymns - churches simply don't sing them enough anymore (that's nothing but a crying shame). So, bless you Meagan, Andrew, & young'uns - may GOD bless you 🤗 ✝️ 🛐
You Guys make my Heart Smile 😉
I love the way you’re including your children & teaching them Good Qualities with love… I learned a few things today. Thank You, for explaining what you’re doing in the Garden. For some of us who are just starting our little Gardens.. Every Bit of Knowledge Helps !!! You guys work so well together, that’s the Best part 💞 So glad I found this Channel, until the next one 😉💞🇺🇸 39:51
Enjoyed it! Jacob drivin that Kubota, I can't believe it. Maggie cuttin garlic scapes. Those kids are so smart. Dinner looked Delish!
Y’all have the cutest, most kind and helpful babies! They’re precious! My baby was like too. She always wanted to help me do everything. I know everyone says it but enjoy them, it goes unbelievably fast…my baby is 19 now in starting her second year of college!
Curious to see how that straw works out. I've tried it around tomatoes and the weeds just come up through it. Might not have had it thick enough.
Stumbled across y’all’s channel a few days ago. Been about all I’ve watched in the evenings since. Really enjoy the content. Thanks from south Louisiana!
What an awesome family. 🙂
Thanks for the recipes.. l will be making them both this week..
Love seeing the next generation of children learning the crafts of farming..
Must love and appreciation from Australia, May the Heavenly Father give you safe and healthy
I'm proud of you Jacob! I started out on Grandpa's Cub the graduated to Daddy's 140 that I still have. Maybe it's just me but I've always thought the older Farmalls steered better than the newer ones. I know exactly how you feel Andy. I just came in from plowing my garden. It wasn't as dry as I would have liked but with a possibility of more rain tomorrow evening, I went ahead and plowed it. I put the disks on an laid my tomatoes by. It was really too heavy for disks but I got them hilled up and plan on staking and tying them tomorrow before they fall over. Your potato patch looks great!
I’ve just started watching y’all and I’m so excited I found you guys! Love the way y’all are teaching your children about farm life! I grew up on a farm and y’all are keeping something going that many take for granted!!
This was the best video!! I love watching you both teach Jacob and Maggie how to do things. I appreciate the fact that you give them a chance to learn and always encourage their efforts, regardless of the outcome. I think that is how children should be taught. I enjoyed watching Andy change up his attachments on the tractor, and I am learning more about tractors every video, lol. That supper of venison with the gravy over top a biscuit had my mouth watering ready for a bite. I will try making my biscuits this way next time. I hate the mess of rolling and cutting them out. That tater patch is beautiful, and the watermelons are really growing, mine barely have their 2nd set of leaves. Maggie and Jacob are good with the camera. Love your family and your lifestyle, God Bless!
Love seeing your Son drive the tractor I'm 53 I remember my grandpa letting me do that about his age
That's what young men need a good positive adult male
To be in there life & teach them
So glad to see the tradition of teaching certain ways being carried on
Also young ladies need that strong male figure in there life
To guide & protect them especially when they start dating...lol
I know my daughter is now 25
Far as a strong Female Mom
Can't say enough about Moms& grandma's
God Bless you all 🙏
Absolutely love how y’all live off of what y’all grow y’all raise on pork reminds me off my childhood growing up as my grandma an grandpa did. Delicious.
Do you ever freeze any of your eggs? I knew a older lady that would put 6 eggs in a freezer bag. She would take them out the night before and they would be ready for her and her 2 boys that morning. She would put up eggs for her cakes. That way she had them when the hens wasn't laying good.
I’m 51 years old, grew up in California with Idaho values. My daddy taught me to drive a stick at 7 years old. Save money for a rainy day, don’t waste what you have reuse an item if you can. I have a garden and chickens.
YEP That's how country kids learn to drive. Mine was a Cub Cadet riding mower and then moved up to the tractor. Then I drove the farm truck in the fields and picked up the hay
Good morning from Oregon, raining here too! Have a safe and blessed Memorial weekend.
We had to dig our potatoes yesterday bc we have had so much rain here in a East Texas they were starting to rot. We lost about 1/3 of them bit I'm not complaining about the rain. Ya'lls plants look beautiful and kids are precious!
Love your grocery store! Enjoy watching your channel.
One of my jobs when I was little, on the farm, was driving the tractor when we picked our corn by hand. Daddy put blocks on the pedals so I could reach them. We had an old allis charmers that like to come up off its front wheels, didn’t like that tractor much.
I love your channel ❤
Another fine looking meal y’all I’m from West Kentucky and them Ky Wonders are fine eating !
Every time I watch one of your videos I learn something. Thankyou for sharing and bless you
There's nothing more i can say that hasn't already been said in several of the comments. Love your videos, love your kids and how you are raising them, love that you are down to earth and are the real deal. We just plain love ya'll ❤❤❤ can't wait to meet you some day, maybe we will run into you at River Rock or the Front Porch Creamery sometime.
Megan you can get special masks for horses for uveitis too work like sunglasses for the horse..am pretty sure the regular fly mask is doing fine though..just for incase,in the future ;) 😉
I grow weeds to usually 2 maybe 3 that's all I can really stand for personal consumption. Legal here in Virginia
I have heard about spreading the shavings of that "Irish something" soap around plants to keep bugs away. I don't know if the chemicals in the soap would be bad for the crop, so what about spreading peppermint or another strong spice around the plants?
Maggie is awesome she is so smart. Thanks for including your children. You are teaching the kids things only every kids should know in life.
Great video! Wow…you guys are busy. But isn’t life grand?! Good job!
I absolutely love your channel! You're family are so down to earth I love it ! No floffing!! I was raised the some her in Rhode Island you probably never heard of our little state keep it real guys.
Y'all are so good at growing sunflowers, have you ever thought of selling them? I had a local flower shop trying to buy mine one year. My sister is getting married next month and has lots of sunflowers ordered for the wedding. People love and will buy flowers. Flower shops also love white flowers
