Yes it is a follow on from Hi Ren he knows what is wrong with him and this is his frustration with the health system how they told him it was all in his head. when he had Lyme disease all along.

I agree, the conundrum is knowing the problems but being aware that we are participants in it. There are no easy fixes but sparking conversations is at least moving forward toward more awareness.

Great video! But when you say that he's talking about mental health, while I think he may be talking about that in part, he's also very much talking about medical health. After all, it was the false clean bill of physical health the medical doctors gave him that sent him down a path toward getting ineffective mental health treatment that ultimately caused him so much additional harm. And I think the saddest part of Ren's story (aside from the fact it was all probably avoidable if they had just tested him for Lyme when he first got sick) is that his story isn't unique. My story is very much like Ren's, in that it took 15 years to get my autoimmune disease diagnosed and for most of that time they told me I had a psychosomatic mental illness, that it was all in my head. Every single person I've talked to who has chronic illness has a similar story, and I've spoken to *many* over the years. It's almost *never* a story that goes, "I was diagnosed expediently, by competent doctors who genuinely cared." It's almost always a story of being ignored, belittled, seen as a hypochondriac or drug-seeker, and directed to a therapist when what you really need is a medical specialist. It's a huge problem, and most of us are too sick to do anything about it because we are in survival mode 24/7 just trying to exist with our conditions. And for the most part, abled and healthy people don't give a damn about sick and disabled people. Ren is in a singular position to give a voice to the voiceless, and I love him so much for doing it.
