I have just discovered some very interesting 4-stroke engines. One is Zongshen NH130 (90 usd in a local store) and is 130cc and 10 Kg heavy. Another one is AEROBS 154F at 87cc and 9 Kg. Another one is LIFAN 152F at 79cc or 93cc or 97cc or 105cc (8-9 Kg heavy and 100$-150$). After you remove the speed governor, change the carb + the exhaust and polish the ports those 2.5-3 HP will become much more than that. I will post some videos soon. These engines can be found in your local stores cheaply in water pumps ! So instead of searching them on Amazon or Ebay you better search locally for 2.5 HP or 3 HP water pumps and recognize the engine from the photos and specs. Or search for "154f engine" or "152f engine" without the brand name because many companies make them, they are Honda clones.

1:08 "Typical pocketbike transmission with a 60 tooth sprocket. I'm not looking for top speed. I'm looking for getting upto speed quickly " Well said ! Have you tried the belt drive transmission. I heard it has more low end torque. (And quieter and smoother) Might work with a 50 tooth rear sprocket for added top speed as well. Any thoughts?
The clutch is different - more friction material, and no visible springs - on my bell drive 49 cc. It has good torque starting away and climbing hills. Smaller drive gear, larger driven gear within the transmission, 44 tooth sprocket on the wheel.
I do have a question which bistand are you using for a kickstand the one I ordered off Amazon did not fit well it was too big of a drop down you could give me a clue on that kickstand that would be great
Hello from Romania, one question for you ... Would you prefer more a 4 stroke kit or the 2 stroke ? I'm about to build one and I have doubts about the 4 stroke and the clutch issues ... And for the 2 stroke I have doubts about the noise ... Could you help me out with a suggestion ? I enjoy riding on hils and valleys ... Which one would be better for me ? Thanks
4 stroke is lower maintenance and more reliable overall. If you get the 4 stroke, make sure you get one with the belt transfer case and NOT the one with the silver chain pocket bike transfer case. Spend the extra $ to get one with that case. Also, consider a bigger, rear sprocket for more low end torque to get you up hills. Overall, you call. Happy building
Did the transmission break yet? I had one and it just break out of no where and i replace it with one just like it and the same thing happen again so i went with a Bikeberry transmission it would not fit in but i grinded away some of the fly weight cover and remove the bolt and it did great and it still alive today but you will lose some of the top speed but it can be easily gain back with a smaller sprocket. And just a little heads up when it came to returning things Bikeberry do not really take things back which made me wish i had bought my things on Amazon.
I have replaced the carb on my one two weeks ago. Have not changed the jet ( not sure where to get jets here in South Africa). Dropped the needle ( top notch) and is running sweet. What have you done with the crankcase breather pipe. You cannot close the crankcase off as the engine has to expel air in the downward stroke of the piston. I fed the breather pipe into the NT aircleaner tube. My Bike has the T Belt reduction 6~1 and 44T rear sprocket. My friend has the pocket bike chain reduction 3~1 and is over geared with the 48T. Not sure if the 2stroke exhaust will increase performance, it does sound good and is more sree flowing than the standard one. Just a side note : the music volume is to loud. Do you have an e-mail address that i can send pics of my Bike.
Cant you just stick some sponge in the hole so that it filters the air? And leave it hanging I guess, cause there is no place to put it and it wont affect perfomance
Richard P : Thanks for watching and contributing! I am fully aware that a straight pipe would be a better performance route since direct exhaust is best for a 4 stroke. I also understand that expansion chambers on a 4 stroke only fully work with a flared exit. My goal was to make it look and sound sweet. The straight pipe isn't want I wanted. I really like the look and sound of the fat belly. I wanted to use it. Will it hurt the engine? No. The pipe is long enough from the exit port. Does it give me more power? Over the stock, yes, more than a straight pipe, no. Once again, I just really wanted to use it. One again, thank for watching and I'm glad I made a weeklong impact on your RUclips experience 😎👍. Happy building.
Loved the video, your bike looks awesome! I have the same problem with my clutch burning out after a couple of miles. Could you tell me if putting on a 60t sprocket improve the wear on the clutch? Maybe you found some other way to decrease the deterioration of the clutch? Thanks in advance! This engine isn't worth having and upgrading if the clutch is gone after 10 minutes of riding. Until I'm able too fix the clutch problem, the engine is just an endless money pit :(
Yes, the change is sprocket has considerably...unquestionably...and certainly allowed the clutch to survive. The gear ratio of stock is not fantastic. Put a larger sprocket on...something like a 54t or above. Just enjoy the ride! Best wishes to you, and thanks for watching.
funny thing, we had a little pit bike of 50cc's, and 2 strokes with that exact transmission. our first clutch burned right up, s owe replaced it, and it lasted way longer (still hasn't worn out) I'm thinking maybe they come from the factory with crap clutch pads and replacing them gets you good pads? maybe, but I'm not sure.
Followed this video but it did not work for my bike I put on the regular carb and the thing went crazy and drove halfway across my living room. Did I do something wrong? I tried am ny carb and an hpc no dice with either there was no idle just drive
Would have thought the straight pipe would have been more beneficial? As well as an ecotrans fuel injection setup, with an oil cooler and mabe a modified watercooled head from a 2 stroke set up if you can find one that can fit. I have seen the water cooled heads advertised to work for 4 stroke on allie express but everytime i try to find out more information every seller says 2 stroke only. Would probably half to get one of those jacket heads from another engine or get a completely different engine that does water cooling then go with the fi and oil cooling. Mabe a turbo charger? If you can find one for a gy6 im sure it could be modified :)
you left the pedal brakes as main brake they fail quick, i got caliberate brakes and those loosing up brand new so seems like braking on these bikes is crazy
Hey, boss! Thanks for watching. The hangers are 13” and 7/8” diameter. You may need handlebar shims depending on what the size of your neck is. As far as the pipe goes, I know it's not optimal, but I did it for the look and sound...no regrets. Happy building 😎👍
I’m finally getting around to building one of these now and came back to this vid for reference. So I was wondering one thing from this video- would the NT speed carburetor work better than the normal NT carb?
Could you let me know what clutch you replace it with? I've replaced mine a couple of times but not have not found a very good clutch that lasts anytime at all. Did it help much using the 52 tooth rear gear?
I still use the generic clutches because the 52 has helped tremendously. Also, try not to rev your engine. Only engage the throttle when you want to go.maybe you already do that but if you don't, it will make the clutch last longer. Hope it works!
Great video, if only I could understand those last few minuets about the light, I could tel what you were saying since the outro was layered over the commentary
Thanks for watching! There are sooooo many variables such as riders weight, conditions, motor brand, and etc. that determines speed and torque. With that said, with a 56t sprocket and 49cc 4 stroke and straight pipe you may be looking at 35-37 +\-. Like I said, soo many variables, this is just a rough guess. Also, I'd recommend the NT carb set up...its very much worth it. You'll want to reject the carb too. Happy building 👍

Right, 4 strokes don't even need expansion chambers
Plus the less restrictive the muffler the leaner the engine will run, which is bad. So if your going to put another muffler on without as much back pressure, you have to re jet or get a new jet for the carburetor.

Any thoughts?
my friend runs the 5g belt drive with a 48 tooth and gets a top speed of around 28 to 30 mph and plenty of bottom end torque.
The clutch is different - more friction material, and no visible springs - on my bell drive 49 cc. It has good torque starting away and climbing hills. Smaller drive gear, larger driven gear within the transmission, 44 tooth sprocket on the wheel.
I do have a question which bistand are you using for a kickstand the one I ordered off Amazon did not fit well it was too big of a drop down you could give me a clue on that kickstand that would be great
Thanks for watching. Amazon sells a good bistand that folds to one side. Check those out. Happy building!
I'm loving the exhaust loudener.....
Lol on exhaust pipe. Rejet carb and clear intake and exhaust ports. Skirt covers 1/4 of the ports. Needs ramped for better flow.
Which one
would be better for me ?
@@SouthernCustomCC 🙏 thanks for the reply 😀 🎉
Is that the gear box that came with the motor kit or another? I don't like the kit gear boxes. Unless they made them stronger.
Where did you get all of the parts like the high-velocity chamber and the nt adapter.
Hey, how is it holding up?
@@krispau8344 have a 2 stroke now
Cool build bro!
Legit willing to pay to see how to & links to parts list to rig up the headlight. I have failed several times on my own
Same
a 2 stroke exhaust on that 4 stroke motor wont do nothing but add more weight, still, looks cool
It will add backpressure, wich will make the bike slower
Thanks for the video... ❤❤
doesn't #90 to 100 jets use more fuel in the same amount of time that the engine runs?
This is the build mark .I called ..love the battery pack . Text me the information about this build, please thank you sir
The 144 would be great. I wonder if you could add a larger carb or modify the exhaust to make it go faster
Where did you buy the headlight from? What is his name?
Expansion chamber on a 4 stroke? That has to be the dumbest thing I have seen on the internet this week! LMAO!
Your neighbors must be like. Here comes that figging guy again
Whered you get that headlight from? Ive been looking for something like that
Loved the video, your bike looks awesome!
Tip: when you are going from a standpoint just pedal a little so that the clutch wont burn.
Followed this video but it did not work for my bike I put on the regular carb and the thing went crazy and drove halfway across my living room. Did I do something wrong? I tried am ny carb and an hpc no dice with either there was no idle just drive
Ever get it figured out? I have one with high idle and low to no pull after swapping to an NT however my other one did not do that.
Your clutch has a broken spring or more.
It does look great but the fenders make a huge difference as far as looks go, but I know you removed them as a safety hazard.
cool! where do you find parts like the clutch?
Yeah, what's up with 2 stroke pipe?
Love the bike could you give me the part number and where you bought the front headlight thanks
Head light was from eBay. 6.5” bobber led front headlight.
Where can i buy the bracket you used to attach the light?
I'm putting red spoke sleeves too in the middle of my fat tire rime is all red round dots 4-in rim
Its a normal bike man..
Hi my friend where did you buy this motor from?
Why do you use a 2-stroke carburetor on that engine?
When you change over carbs what do you do with the black hose that came from original air filter to the engine
Why would you use an exhaust pear on a fourstroke?
you left the pedal brakes as main brake they fail quick, i got caliberate brakes and those loosing up brand new so seems like braking on these bikes is crazy
Please make a video on your head light set up
I'm putting a baffle tailpipe on mine should help even more plus it's red matches with my bike fat tier bike it's going to be awesome
What size apes did you use. Everybody hating on the expansion chamber, I love it... sick bike
Hey, boss! Thanks for watching. The hangers are 13” and 7/8” diameter. You may need handlebar shims depending on what the size of your neck is. As far as the pipe goes, I know it's not optimal, but I did it for the look and sound...no regrets. Happy building 😎👍
Can you link to the 60-66 tooth sprocket?
I’m finally getting around to building one of these now and came back to this vid for reference. So I was wondering one thing from this video- would the NT speed carburetor work better than the normal NT carb?
160 bucks total yd100 with the red carburetor a filter not the black one drill holes in the back for more air intake
Belt drive transmission would have helped. That's what mine has. 100 tooth belt drive and 44 tooth sprocket on a Kent Ridgeland.
do u have links to where i can buy this stuff
Has the back pressure pulses from that stupid expansion chamber burned up your exhaust valve yet?
The fat belly muffler is the best it's the most expensive more pressure out more power
So what is your top speed since you weren't going for it in video?
The idle sounds cool 👍
Great video, if only I could understand those last few minuets about the light, I could tel what you were saying since the outro was layered over the commentary
About how fast would a 49cc 4 stroke go on a 26” bicycle, all stock, But with a straight pipe and a 56 tooth sprocket?
Thanks for watching! There are sooooo many variables such as riders weight, conditions, motor brand, and etc. that determines speed and torque. With that said, with a 56t sprocket and 49cc 4 stroke and straight pipe you may be looking at 35-37 +\-. Like I said, soo many variables, this is just a rough guess. Also, I'd recommend the NT carb set up...its very much worth it. You'll want to reject the carb too. Happy building 👍
Thanks a lot! I’ll keep that in mind!
how are you using an nt car i cant get mine to work like what size jet do you have in it plz get back to me on this if you can!!!!!!
nvm seems like yours bogs too with the carb lol
How much hp and torque dost this engine have?
