I love the “glam noir cabinet of curiosities for the maximalist 40s Hollywood starlet” aesthetic you have going in this room. There’s something comforting about being surrounded by all of your favorite things in one room. Moths: I’d think they’d see your collection of preserved moths and butterflies on display and decide messing with your suits just isn’t worth the risk.
love a bedroom/wardrobe tour! My fiancee is Finnish and she has never had a single thing eaten by clothes moths. Apparently they're not much of a thing in Finland - not sure why, maybe the -20 c cold just destroys them so thoroughly that they can't keep perpetuating their life cycle. Anyway, I'm so jealous. I've had so many things damaged - from mend-able to utterly destroyed - by moths. I do my best but there's really only so much you can do short of either coating all your clothing in extremely noxious chemicals, having literally one jumper, or storing all your woolens in a chest freezer which is what I intend to do in the future. Either that or just live in Finland, mythical land of no moths (apparently.)
A sterile white room makes me think that the person who lives there has a sterile mind. No imagination. No color to their life. No warmth. That will never be you!
Impressive organization for a small space. I highly recommend keeping the shades drawn to prevent sun bleaching of any of those precious handbags. My mother gave me her vintage handbag collection when she moved several years ago. She had previously placed them on display on a wall next to her closet. Sadly, several of them became sun damaged. Thanks for sharing your beautiful room!
I actually had a dream of you announcing that you found a place and were moving! 🤔 I know it's weird that I'm dreaming about a stranger on the Tube but let's just call it foreshadowing and leave it there. Love the room!!
Shelves up higher than untrained humans can reach🧐 2 of my kids have lived with me into their 30’s and my 28 year old wants to return. It’s hard to figure out this adult stuff! At 62 I still don’t have a clue, except I also love Dutch masters!
If you train them well they might leave your cool toy-looking things most of the time. 😂 I say this, of course, as someone with two cats and a tiny human and all three of them are menaces with stuff from shelves that aren't plants. ... One of the cats is still a menace with the plants too. Long ramble less long: I feel you on this front
My mother and husband call my jewelry my “Dragon Hoard” I currently have them stored in hanging containers in the shape of aa little black dress, with clear pockets on one side and hook and loop to hang my necklaces on the other. All my other accessories are in decorative boxes in my closet. I love the dark Dutch florals. I was going to get wallpaper like that for my Master Bath, that I am calling “decayed mansion” style. I painted my own bathroom vanity an almost black purple, and then hand painted moths and berry vines all over it. Above it is an ornate black mirror, a black crystal chandelier and on the vanity I have crystal accessories I painted black line bugs on, then baked to make permanent. I found off a set of white pottery trash can, soap dish, liquid soap dispenser that have old master black line floral illustrations decorating them. I think we have eerily similar taste in decor Bianca. How fun!! I loved your tour!!!
My bedroom looks like the battle ground after a war between Laundry and Library and there were no survivors. A high shelf houses my collection of wine goblets that I can't drink out of (gifts like a hand painted one that can't get wet and a gag goblet that holds an entire bottle of wine, friends are weird). Bedding is colourful, mismatched, and rumpled. Cat hair covers everything. A giant framed Monet waterlily print leans drunkenly behind the door. Pure chaos, my sanctuary lol.
I relate so much to some of the vibes of living in your childhood home as an adult- it’s certainly… a time, and despite how much time I spend in my room, it’s still largely dictated by the previous occupants and the owners of the house- my parents and family. Decor remains from when it was my mom’s room, and from previously when it was my sister’s, in addition to things from my college days, relics of my childhood, and the few recent purchases and finds from the present. It’s sort of a mélange of different people’s objects, but I still have sone things to it that are my own! And of course, I relate to the amount of space devoted to clothes/accessories, and the things still packed away for years since the last time I had my own space. My closet was recently outfitted with a second rod hanging below half of the first, for more blouse storage, which it desperately needed 😅 That’s even with my winter clothes in storage 😭 And don’t even get me started on how much costume jewelry I accumulated the last few years of high school into college. I went a bit crazy with statement necklaces and all sorts of different styles for a while there before I settled on the more calm and classic jewelry I wear now 😅 All of those things take up space on my vanity 😂 I think the things that most make this room feel like my own are the habits and daily routines though. I know what it feels like to sit in my bed, place my dice on my side table, and open my laptop to play DnD. I know the pathways I travel from underwear drawer to closet to vanity each morning when I get dressed. And so on. Those routines, locked geographically in this space, make me feel like it’s my own! I’m curious if you feel similarly?
I love the word maximalist and think I might be one too 😁 I live alone and have 1 bedroom, livingroom and kitchen and bathroom, so when my clothes/handbags/shoes needed more space I moved my bed to livingroom and made my bedroom a big walk in closet or "boudoir" and there I have my vanity, my clothes, shoes, handbags and all accessories stored nicely. I use those IKea Billy bookcases to store my shoes and handbags, I have 4 of those 2meters tall and 40cm wide and if you buy some extra shelfs you can fit 24 pairs of shoes in one Billy bookcase 😊
Oh nosey me feels so lucky to have been granted a tour! Your room is absolutely beautiful and so very you. I'm glad it brings you so much joy. Every corner is delicious 💚
I think one day, I'm going to try to reproduce one of those beaded box bags. They are absolutely gorgeous! All the sparkle of glitter and none of the annoying glitter shedding.
Very nice, my dear. Please do not apologize for your personal prosperity, it has allowed you to preserve and share such lovelies and hone your talents for the benefit of one and all. For that we thank you.
As I said to a friend this morning who was “apologizing” for the fabric she bought on a recent trip… it’s better stress relief to buy fabric (or brooches) than to get blackout drunk and go home with a serial killer…. PS you may be able to get a CD drive that plugs into a USB port on your computer… you only need to bother when when you need it.
Stuff you Love, not drugs or booze! Your so creative how about a flat screen tv hung from the end of your canopy bed that can flip up towards the ceiling when not in use?
@TheClosetHistorian, you need to download the programme to play it, you dont just plug it in. If you want me to look it up, let me know. You probably got it sorted but i can look it up if you need me too. Love your room
Can't wait to see your dream house set up one day!! 😍 I imagine those brooches would look lovely displayed in on of those multi-glass-drawer dressers. Also!! I'm in love with that cat brooch!!!! 😻
Thanks for taking us around your private space. I love the gallery walls. What a beautiful way to give your soul some breathing space. I don't have room for fake spider webs, there are too many natural ones to constantly deal with! Your golden parrot has interesting literary connections to Perry (In Cold Blood).
From one jewellery enthusiast to another: never EVER feel like you need to explain your passion. Them folks who have 3 pairs of earrings and one silver chain will never understand people like us :D Love the video, the dark and moody vibe is not necessarily what I want in my own home, but I do appreciate seeing it at someone else's, especially done so well. Plus you've given me a lot of inspiration for jewellery storage, which is a bit of a pickle for me because I struggle to make it practical *and* pretty. All the best!
Thank you, you are generous for letting us see your bedroom, it was cool seeing it. I wish I could move back home. Because really, we all just need room to sleep in to hold our stuff. I'd like to see your sewing room. The designer in me says the dresser should be colored antique gold.
Yup. Definitely your space. It’s neat to see a visual documentation of your development as an adult. I’m curious if during the filming you noticed the negative spaces, the things you left behind as you grew into the next phase. And there’s your bug imagery of the day! ❤️
Lovely, and totally your aesthetic. Also, external CD/DVD drives are available and typically pretty cheap ($25-30)! Might be an option for the DVD watching.
The government actually has a printing office that sells posters for a small amount of money. I bought one of a series of posters created in the 50's (I think) for each state. It cost me $16 and is quite large. And fabulous! I believe you can get prints of vintage photos too. Or that might be the national archives???
Beautiful collection! I, too, am a maxamalist... so, naturally I sympathize.. but I also do some furniture flipping... and girl you could totally sand down that dresser... it's easy! And so much fun... wait till spring... I imagined it being a deep dark green... 💚 ... and for some extra flare.. and to keep all your pretty things nice and in their drawers as you do it... you could leave the drawers as they are... and just change out the handles... and then boom 💥 POW! You have a beautiful dresser! Absolutely gorgeous bedroom! And thanks for the tip on the hair flowers in glass... I've been keeping them in an old wooden purse... lol the bead work is just spectacular! Thanks for being you, and thanks for sharing! ❤🙏💯💥🙌
@TheClosetHistorian lol... that chalk paint in all the rage nowadays... some brands are a no sanding needed... check them out... black or your deep dark emerald green is how I imagined it... last summer I rented a sander and did my livingroom floor... and a gorgeous vanity... I just painted the base.. and left the drawers the natural wood... because they were in such great shape.. I thought the same would be pretty on your dresser there too.... I feel ya.. things always take longer than anticipated... and your talents maybe better suited elsewhere.... love your collection! Thanks so much for sharing. .. and I put my flowers in my glass vases last night! Love the look! ☺❤🙏
From someone that hoards DVDs the way you do vintage pins - may I recommend an external disc drive! They're inexpensive and plug and play. Super convenient if you don't have a tv/dvd player setup.
The full on “OOOOOOOH” I did when you opened the brooch drawer. My aunt used to have a jewellery draw that she’d let me play in as a kid as this took me waaaaay back!
Really love the style and all the little personal touches! I’m in the process of giving my own apartment a forest-gothic-art deco makeover, so I take a lot of inspiration from you for decor! One thing you may want to keep an eye out for on Craigslist or other second-hand places is an armoir or chifferobe, which is basically a closet on one side and drawers on the other, and many of the ones from the 1920s, 30s, and 40s were cedar-lined and would be fantastic for storing your vintage suits. They’re really beautiful, often with “Waterfall” style woodwork that is gorgeous, and since today people are often trying to get rid of them from older family members, they can be found for (fairly) cheap. I’ve seen them posted at as low as $50-75. The more expensive ones might be listed for $100-250, but cheaper ones can definitely be had.
Thanks for the Tour of Your Treasures!!!! and Your Mind !!! Gorgeous and love the idea of Black on Black Flock wallpaper ...Your Treasures would look even more DIVINE!!!
Oooh I love that bedside flower lamp….I used to have a frog lamp, a green and yellow frosted glass frog on a heavy brass lily pad base, that I loved. Unfortunately he was a casualty of one of my many……..MANY moves.
I vote Flint for the parrot (in the spirit of treasure island via black sails). Also I have a dvd player usb extension thingy for my laptop and i love it, really pays off when the power goes out.
your litter corner of the internet is quite possibly my favourite corner i come here and i get all that i love presented calmly and gently. dressmaking, dark aesthetics, a sprinkling of leftist ideology, all wrapped up in a gorgeous roll of fabric. my first of your videos was the lemon dress video and since then ive gone and watched damn near all of them. youve inspired me to have some confidence in my abilities and learn to make my own sloper patterns (my goal for this year is to finally sit down and make them!). you’re just awesome Bianca, thank you for sharing your little corner of the internet with us :))
What a curious room and so tidy! I find it amusing that "vanitas" (still life paintings with skull) means "emptiness" and yet your room is anything but empty. I like the parrot, also your tiny kitty, the tea cups and the little, braided picture frame. You have a nice Rachel Ruysch bunch of roses and also an interesting container on the shelf by your brown shoes. Very nice, Bianca!
I love how you decorated the space and still shows your personality. I love the posters and the brooches, I have one of my grandmothers that is a big silver snowflake that I would love to wear one day. I can see you having a spare bedroom turned into a closet in your own home.... This is what I would imagine of how I will decorate my very own house one day. I do have an idea if and when you want to up date your dresser; I would paint it an emerald green (or any green you love) with black hardware on the front. Now if you want to add another step or two to it; could use a stencil (maybe one of bats or moth/butterfly) on the outside with black paint and in the drawers find a peel-and-stick wallpaper to put on the inside. Thank you for the updated tour of your room!! :)
Oh my goodness...that lamp on your bedside table is to die for its so beautiful! You have such a cozy bedroom...thank you for taking us into that private part of your world. Dutch flower paintings are always something that I try to recreate in quilt form I'm so drawn to those particular colors they are so comforting.
Hi Bianca!! Very impressive & totally you.. Love your Dutch floral paintings & your gallery wall & how that make you happy.. Totally in love with your flower lamp from your paternal grandmother…. 💜💜💜🧵🧵🧵
Parrot as in Gustave Flaubert's 'Un coeur simple'--'A Simple Heart'--in which an elderly lady, Felicite, believes her parrot Loulou is the Holy Spirit. Your bedroom is delightful!
Thank you for showing your room. Beautiful paintings, great organization, I love it! No judgement from me regarding your brooch drawer; I collect vintage sewing machines. I live in a two-bedroom apartment. One bedroom is a sewing room with three machines in their cabinets, and two portable machines on display. I also have sewing machines in the living room, including a treadle, and a treadle in my bedroom. No judgement from me, lol! All I will say about your brooch collection is, if I were there, I would have a great time looking at all of them!
I have a Dutch Floral print I have had for a while. Currently, it is hanging up in my living room. So, when I saw yours, I could not take my eyes off them; so beautiful. Love the tour.
I’m reminded of the style of Christine McConnell. I love her work too. When I grow up I want my home to look as spectacular. A little from you, a little from her and a lot from me. ❤️💙💚💜
Thank you SO much for introducing me to the term "hair receiver"! I've been using an old kleenex box that doesn't exactly add to the vibe of my vanity. So excited to start my hunt for a good Art Nouveau option!
Thanks for sharing! I love the prints and gallery wall, as well as the lamps. Can’t wait to see what you do when you buy your own house (crossing my fingers for you that it happens soon!)
I've tried a couple of times to bring your attention to a gorgeous Danish company called Memery, who make the most beautiful vintage-style shoes. They are expensive, but they can be mended and resoled, so you get much more wear out of them. Also in one of your videos you mention the impossibility of finding silk petticoats. Patra, a British company, make knitted silk petticoats (they call them 'slips') in long and just above the knee, in black, cream, and white; and also a half-petticoat in black and cream. Again, not particularly cheap, but well worth a look. You have been such a help to me in sorting out both my style and my wardrobe: thank you.
@@TheClosetHistorian Ha! All the more for me. Seriously, thank you for replying. One day perhaps I'll have to pick and choose among my kind commenters . . .
Love love love your room. I also like the Dutch masters. Especially the flowers. As for your computer, go to a big box store like Best Buy. They will have something for less than $100 that you can play your videos on. It will be an external video drive that will plug into one of your ports.
i had to re watch this --- remembered your getting pictures printed out from online photos and i'm doing the same now, only at office depot.... hoping it comes out as nice as yours did!!!
Absolutely beautiful room!! Surrounded by all your lovely things!! I think it's a perfect balance of light and dark. The only thing I would change is the color of the dresser. I would sand it down to the bare wood. Stain it with a black stain so the wood grain would show through. But as for the walls. They're a nice pallet for your beautiful pictures on the wall!!!!
That was lots of fun! Makes a person want to dress up. Ah... But where to go? Wonderful collections. Ralph Lauren has like 23 cars and likely that many houses! And the wealth in Dubai, Hong Komg, London etc. Enjoy your finds....🌍🌎🌍Princess B. Not everyone can rock a beaded spider broach the way you can!🎆🎭🌏🎇🍒very best, Joanne
It's a silly sentence, but you're truly living "it's not hoarding if your shit is cool".
Love this insight into your world ♡
Ha! Thank you! 🖤✨
I had the exact same thought about the moths!
Thank you Elizabeth! I like to be in a jewelry box essentially 😂✨
The Dutch flower paintings are so lush and jewel-like - totally "you". The whole bedroom seems to me to reflect your personal style very well 😊
Thank you Mara!
Getting brooches rather than drinks is a good way of looking at things. I guess the drawer ends up representing a sizeable hangover!
love a bedroom/wardrobe tour!
My fiancee is Finnish and she has never had a single thing eaten by clothes moths. I’ve seen them posted at as low as $50-75. The more expensive ones might be listed for $100-250, but cheaper ones can definitely be had.
I loved a peek into your life through your bedroom. your closet is CRAZY NEAT AND TIDY! So beautiful! Thanks for the video
Thank you!
My inner magpie is satisfied ~ so many pretty, shiny, sparkly things ~ ☺️
Thanks for the Tour of Your Treasures!!!! and Your Mind !!! Gorgeous and love the idea of Black on Black Flock wallpaper ...Your Treasures would look even more DIVINE!!!
Thank you! 🖤
Also I have a dvd player usb extension thingy for my laptop and i love it, really pays off when the power goes out.
your litter corner of the internet is quite possibly my favourite corner
i come here and i get all that i love presented calmly and gently. dressmaking, dark aesthetics, a sprinkling of leftist ideology, all wrapped up in a gorgeous roll of fabric.
my first of your videos was the lemon dress video and since then ive gone and watched damn near all of them. youve inspired me to have some confidence in my abilities and learn to make my own sloper patterns (my goal for this year is to finally sit down and make them!). you’re just awesome Bianca, thank you for sharing your little corner of the internet with us :))
Thank you so much!! ❤
Thank you Penny! Very full instead yes 😂
Thank you Margo! Also a dutch still life quite sounds AMAZING
Hi Bianca!! Very impressive & totally you.. Love your Dutch floral paintings & your gallery wall & how that make you happy.. Totally in love with your flower lamp from your paternal grandmother….
💜💜💜🧵🧵🧵
Thank you Deana!
I love Dutch florals, too.
Parrot as in Gustave Flaubert's 'Un coeur simple'--'A Simple Heart'--in which an elderly lady, Felicite, believes her parrot Loulou is the Holy Spirit. Your bedroom is delightful!
I love your style. I want to walk through your mind palace and see your vision unleashed fully.
Thank you!
I love the maximalist glamour! It's like playing I spy, but prettier! The high resolution poster trick is awesome. I'm going to need to check it out.
Thank you! I used to love those I Spy books as a kid 🤩
I think you might be a broach dragon! But you don’t just hoard them, you covet them. Love it!
Lovely room. I like the dark colors and reflections from the glass
Thank you Donna!
Love the still lifes with skulls!
The lamp you inherited from your grandma is amazing!!
Thank you for the tour. Its always fun to see how people decorate their room. The treasures you have accumulated over the years are amazing.
Thank you Sally-Ann!
Thank you Marcia! Love some vintage sewing machines 🤩
It looks very luxurious and you will have lots of things to put in your room in your own home
Thank you Trudi!
I have a Dutch Floral print I have had for a while. Currently, it is hanging up in my living room. So, when I saw yours, I could not take my eyes off them; so beautiful. Love the tour.
I love the Bladerunner origami unicorn! 😊
the flower lamps are really beautiful, 😍 I think the color green of the walls helps to show the pictures, the flowers on them very well.
Thank you Esther!
Thank you for sharing your personal space,it's very lush and individual, I've got a terarream but it's tiny just big enough to hold hair clips. 💖
Thank you Lesley!
... and yes, I want the golden parrot... badly 😂 Love sent to you, you gorgeous creature. Miss Fitz x
I’m reminded of the style of Christine McConnell. I love her work too. When I grow up I want my home to look as spectacular. A little from you, a little from her and a lot from me. ❤️💙💚💜
Sparkles! 🤩
Love your style- all of it.
Thank you Thelma!
The room looks so you!!! It's nice to hear that it is the way you want and the items that fill it, bring you comfort. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Thank you Peggy!
This eyeshadow!!!! I must know what is on your eyelids!!!
It is the shade "The Cosmos" by Terra Moons cosmetics, layered over olive green mattes 😉✨
I love the brass snake on your wall in the intro and and end. I need one in my life .

Thank you Elaine!
Thank you 🙏🏻 for the tour. If your bedroom is any indication, your home will be spectacular! 👍🏻
Thank you Jacquline!
Thank you SO much for introducing me to the term "hair receiver"! I've been using an old kleenex box that doesn't exactly add to the vibe of my vanity. So excited to start my hunt for a good Art Nouveau option!
I'm impressed with tour storage skills! Love the Dutch pictures!
Thank you Lesli!
Whatever you have got on your eyes here.... seriously stunning 🫀🫀🫀
Terra Moons cosmetics make magic eye shadows 🤩✨
On Bianca. What a privilege to let us into, and view your gorgeous bedroom. Simply devine, as is your commentary as usual. Miss Fitz (London gal) x
Thank you!
I love your display of your goodies and the way you decorate !! I wish I could help you decorate a whole home !!
ps I had to watch like 3 times or more to take it all in 💖
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing! I love the prints and gallery wall, as well as the lamps. Can’t wait to see what you do when you buy your own house (crossing my fingers for you that it happens soon!)
Thank you! I dream of wallpapers and epic curtains...
The gold parrot from HomeGoods!!! I bought a gold horse from there, he lives in my bathroom 😄
Thank you! I like some of Memery's more Victorian styles, but their 40's shoes are just not my style personally for the most part!
Thank you!
You are my opposite in style, but I always appreciate your style and loved this trip to the dark side.
Thank you for the tour, you use all your space very well by building up smart idea.I love the gallery wall.💕
Thank you Brenda!
Your room really suits you. Thank you for sharing it.
Thank you!
i had to re watch this --- remembered your getting pictures printed out from online photos and i'm doing the same now, only at office depot.... hoping it comes out as nice as yours did!!!
Liked the show and tell.
Also they make usb plug in dvd drives, my mom uses one to watch movies on her laptop.
Love your makeup & hair/do!!! Beautiful!!!
Thank you Alice!
Love your eclectic style@
You make my heart sing. I also have lots of treasures.
Loved the bedroom suite tour!!! Love your stuff especially the Dutch Florals!!!! Just beautiful!!! 💖💖💖
Thank you Alice!
You have the Bat Woman! I love her so much. Your room is gorgeous and is giving me ideas.
Thank you Cheryl! I kinda want a giant print of the bat woman painting to intimidate victors in my future house 😂
Thanks for the tour!
Thank you! That sounds like a fabulous make-over for the dresser, can someone come do it for me? 🤣
Thank you Joanne!
