      Jay Dee, I know, this is some quality content, right? He breaks things down quite well and makes good quality video with good clear audio.

    I am such a terrible shooter, but that snap backhand shot is the only thing I feel like comes naturally to me. I love it! But I'm learning a lot here I didn't focus so much on as a kid, I much preferred to use my legs and get others the puck

    Right now, I am learning to backhand a soft hockey puck. If you ask me, I would say it's pretty challenging to backhand a soft hockey puck.

      @@itrainhockey Apologies,I should have been more clear. We are in Maryland, so I was wondering about summer week-long camps: Either sleep over , or day time only

      Maryland is definitely one of the locations I want to bring iTrain Hockey hockey camps to. Check out my website to see a confirmed list of dates and locations of where I'll be next on the Store page! See you on the ice!

      Rhys Best like Illinois? Because the Swansea rink in Illinois is a concrete roller rink

    The reason I want to develop a backhand in stride is I play the off wing, so there is usually a defender in the way of the forehand. But this also means I can't do the turn toward the goal he is showing here. I want to get off a quick backhand without having to turn my whole body into the defender (or spear him as I shoot as I'm not looking to get tossed). Not sure this is possible.

    • @eliteicehockeyanalysisnorc1824
      @eliteicehockeyanalysisnorc1824 7 лет назад

      Michael Shaw you can do this by rotating your upper body and keeping your feet going forward. Use your core to load by twisting at the waist, as you release this twist will create power.

    If you get your front foot facing the goalie on the backhand you get more lift and power on your shot.

  • @johns6426

    shouldn't you always follow your shot? Great lesson but I'd suggest looking for the rebound!
