What I want from a video like this, is just to show how to do what needs to be done. I don't want to watch nearly an entire play session. Literally, you could respect our time by shortening this to 5 minutes. A tutorial vid should be short. A "watch me play a game" video can be longer.

On the scanning.. salvage will always be an even multiple of 2000. Ive yet to see rocks and salvage spawn together in the same node so if it aint a solid even 2000,4000,6000,,,20000 etc it aint salvage. The single largest I've found is 26000 it was a field of about 20 reclaimer fragments. Was about 85 SCU worth of salvage.
You *must* store your ship in order for the TDD to see the SCUs in the ship and the boxes don't have to be in the cargo grid as the kiosk will allow you select the ones that are and the ones that aren't (but you probably know this by now). New to the salvage career so thanks for the awesome video 🙂
First! i got to say....watching you play SC is always fun for me,as I have a goal to get enough money scraped together to be able to enter the verse myself within the year. So I truly enjoy watching this, and most of the other games you play. Farming Simulator 22, Snowrunner and SC is my absolute favorite videos to watch from you. salvage will scan CS values divisible by 2k so 8k is multiple panels! Also need to keep distance 16-22 meters, too close degrades efficiency. If you stack high & tight can load 24 scu/load. And player rented Cargo Decks at station will solve the trans-load issue. And you can tune the gimbal settings on salvage lasers 0.7 is optimal for abrabe.

We should unite ourselves and make a post for CIG so they make a better light system on the vulture. It is a shame. We have better lights on the Avenger than the Vulture..and it is a Salvage Ship.
If you reduce ping angle to 2 degree you can tell if it's a rock or not from 5km away. You just have to press left mouse button to scan it from that far.

Its a great money maker and very relaxing - it also opens up cargo transfer gameplay if you want to do it. I have been scraping, returning to HRU-L1 and then loading up my MSR - When its full it will bring about 850k

I've only really done fps and bounty missions so I was wondering can you transfer the scrap to another ship by yourself? iirc when you claim a different ship your first one disappears so would it be a hassle to transfer the stuff from the vulture to a cargo ship by yourself?
That was a fun tutorial. A couple of tid bits... - You're right about wearing a helmet in ship. (Uggghh... hate that). If you ever go into a turret without a helmet you will suffocate. - I believe it's called a 'shoilet' (shower-toilet). - Robotech was awesome! I love the way they went through the different eras... pre-Zentradi and post Zentradi. BTW, hated Minmay :/ - The difference between the two salvage modules is time and efficiency. One scrapes more quickly but less efficiently and the other does the opposite, slower but more efficient. Cheers! BTW, when you started searching for the scrap and kept finding rocks I had a quick flashback to the Charlie Brown Halloween special where they're comparing the treats they got and Charlie Brown kept saying "I got a rock. :( " 🤣

could you get a group of friends together and salvage one of your own ships? Like take a fairly large ship out and strip it down and then sell the parts. Then claim your ship. You could have a fairly large party of ships just out in the distance and wouldn't have to search for a wreck. I did see that if you salvage with your vulture and transfer the boxes to another players ship, it may count as stolen loot. Fun to think about but I can't even get into the game yet.
In order for that to work you forgot to store the ship lol you leave the ship on the hangar you can clearly hear the guy notifying you that you have the ship is obstructing the hangar.
I thought that. I stored mine got to the TDD and it said there was nothing in my vulture. Went back to the space station. Retrieved the ship. Went back to the TDD and could then sell the item.
Great tutorial. Well done for getting round the unintended features 3.18 brings. I've noticed at times that if you party up with a hauler buddy and they move the cans to their ship then sometimes the scrap boxes are marked as stolen (can't be sold except at "disreputable" sites) - any idea what is happening and how to avoid that?
I got a vulture but havnt used it yet. Gameplay looks pretty boring compared to mining. At least that requires a bit of skill. Think Ill melt mine. But Ill wait to see if they expand the roll.

all of them accept it. did you put the ship in storage (you should) before you sold? I would try that first. Then you go to TDD and sell it at the kiosk. All 4 planets have TDD and I have sold salvage at all 4 planets, so you are doing something wrong. I am thinking its probably that you haven't stored the ship.
As of right now Scrape modes don't really do much different, though Abraded is a hair faster. If I redo this tutorial for a later version I will definitely keep your input in mind to improve it. Thanks again!
Because scanning also very quickly finds scrap fields. Why wouldn't you use it? Thats like saying "why do you use your car to go to the store, I just walk - all you need is your legs". Are you mining abandon ships or actual scrap?

@@ChrisRollason Yup - its insane. But you will be able to buy all these ships in game with no actual money - so entry is more like $45 bucks to play, not 175.
Just to let you know, its not that your character is not good at holding his breath. They have put the correct mechanics in the game so when you enter space and dont have a helmet even if you tried to hold your breath you could not because the vacuum you just entered will suck out any air in your lungs and you cant hold it in. That is why you only have seconds.
I was able to make 140k+ from this load, once the game started working again
Did you end up selling to loreville or to Ornith on Hurston? the reclamation and disposal place?
I managed to stuff 22 units with one still in hopper and made over 160k...love the vulture, dont have to worry about dying in a bunker.

Last day I spent one hour in an asteroid field without finding anything to salvage... Guess I need practice...

Yeah - when I made this it took like 5 minutes - With the latest patch they seem to be harder to find. I'll have to test this.
I knew about the scanning, but I avoided those clusters because I thought they would only have rocks. Time to get 175k a load!
Just be sure to look for even 1000s so 7000 is scrap - 7200 is rock.

Hello, for reselling, I land at Pad and transfer to another ship cargo bay and use the other ship to go to the city’s TTD.
That is what I am doing too - I tested it with my Nomad and it worked great, so I will do it with MSR going forward.

I think you can, but the ship has to be in "soft death" so it will have to be hammered first.
@@kingarthursims you wont get much for it the salvage meter will move slower an in 3.19 plan making it a crime to do that
I have a bug that everything I salvage is illegal. It really sucks. Little red locks at the TDDs.
Oh man... I am also still having issues selling at terminals, just not illegal.

It actually doesn't matter - when its working, you can have the ship in or out of storage. In this case it just wasn't working.

I mean, if your in it for the long haul, its a great money maker. Good starter ship too as it can cary cargo AND has a full hab. But it is expensive.

Why are you using the scan mode for mining? I have never found a ship using that, nor do I scan for shipwreaks. I just use my eyeballs.

Always wait for big ship sales and link CCU upgrades. Concept price was $140 and with a few CCU warbonds got cost down to 115.
