He recorded a demo of "Sour Times" using leftover studio time that Massive Attack had paid for. The fuzzy distortion of "Roads" isn't digital, he recorded the tracks on vinyl then rode over them with his skateboard.
Thats a useless fact im totally gonna take and use in the future on a random 5am comedown when i put on some massive attack or portishead when everyone can barely string a sentence together. Thanks man.

I remember driving a car full of friends, playing tapes with Massive Attack and Portishead albums loud. The road was straight, it was getting dark, and waiting for Teardrop and Roads, which took the entire time of listening to the other songs on the album, was replaced by the euphoria of listening to them. And so audio cassette player continued to play autoreversals. Every time I hear those songs, I'm in that car again.
I never knew I wanted to hear these two songs at the same time until I did. Always loved them both. I’m back at 15 years old, in love in that painful way that happened back then.
For 8 minutes and nine seconds every atom within my body aligned perfectly creating a peaceful bliss and removing me from any thought of negativity. I want this over and over again. My teardrops fall in happiness. I am one, but for a moment.

This ties up with The XX - You Got The Love (Florence And The Machine cover) for the best mash-up ever . Where have I been all this time? Absolute masterpiece, such a simple but perfect mix. Congrats to the producer, you're a genius.
