    Lyrics:
    - Another Day -
    The kettle's on
    The sun has gone
    Another day
    She offers me
    Tibetan tea
    On a flower tray
    She's at the door
    She wants to score
    She dearly needs to say
I loved you a long time ago
Where the wind's own forget-me-nots blow
But I just couldn't let myself go
Not knowing what on earth there was to know
But I wish that I had
    'Cos I'm feeling so sad
That I never had one of your children
    And across the room
    Inside a tomb
A chance is waxed and wanes
    The night is young
Why are we so hung up
    In each others chains?
    I must take her
    And I must make her
    While the dove domains
And feel the juice run as she flies
Run my wings under her sighs
As the flames of eternity rise
To lick us with the first-born lash of dawn
    Oh really my dear
I can't see what we fear
Sat here with ourselves in-between us
    And at the door
    We can't say more
    Than just another day
    And without a sound
    I turn around
    And I walk away

One of the most painfully beautiful songs ever written. An experience you carry for life.

I'm here because of the Cocteau Twins. Yes drawn to the source and I must say it is far better than I ever expected. Actually, it's fantastic.

I once watched Roy spend nearly 10 minutes pretending to tune his guitar while obviously trying to get to grips with the effects of the spliff he'd just smoked, he kept trying to reassure us in the audience that he was fine and would be good to continue if we allowed him a little patience before he walked off claiming to need a wee and never came back. What a legend.

I had the great pleasure of hosting Roy as a houseguest one night after a gig when his hotel booking had gone awry.
"OMG! Roy Harper is sleeping on my sofa!"
It's an unforgettable night for sure. 😁

In my opinion Elizabeth Fraser of Cocteau Twins performed the best cover of this song on the This Mortal Coil album from 1984. It is so raw and deeply melancholic.

An awesome song that is just so moving. Roy touches my soul in the way that Leonard Cohen and John Martyn do. Magical and timeless. I saw Roy many years ago at Poynton folk club, an experince never to be forgotten.

My absolute most sublime favourite of Roy's and acoustic mist libed. It brings me more back to that young time in my 20's than most things, apart from Gong. ❤❤❤❤❤

fantastic music. the modal melody, vocals and first use of strings audibly inspired jethro tull, plus an 80s cover by this mortal coil.

Powerful song, a portraiture of two people who have slipped into an unhappy, though not entirely uncommon marital quandary...beautifully italicized by Harper's celestial and highly evocative voice.

He was always there in the background as I was moving through my musical journey in the 70's and 80's. I didn't really take any notice until I heard One Of Those Days In England and then I couldn't get enough. Superb talent but sometimes a bit wayward. Well, that's alright by me.

a song I used to be able to sing along to, I still know every lyric & note. From one of my all time top albums. Thanks Roy, I have known your music since early Stonehenge gigs.
I missed the deep "Mmmm" sound at the end of this from the vinyl recording.
