Bloody hell @11:12 remind me to wear my safety socks next time I'm handholding a bandsaw to cut stainless bars down towards my shins!!! Great vid (and series) and informative but there's a reason you'd get thrown off a site here for that!!! Please take care and all the best :D
I can see you are screwing into the hand rail at an angle, but are you just drilling a hole though the baluster and into the pipe then attaching a screw? Looks fairly simple to connect if thats the case.
Love it! Can you tell me the rough opening, and are there different sizes to choose from, I'm getting ready to install one on my house. Thanks. Good video.
Ouch sounds a bit frustrating putting together stairs. I've been there installing something in not enough space. Your stairs look good though! Maybe in a future video you can bring out your plans and drawings to review what you liked and didn't like as much.
@@PootsPastures what items were you able to move up the stairs? I want to install these, but I’m afraid I won’t be able to get anything up them (mattress, appliances, etc)
We've gotten a 4x8 peice of plywood up them, you just have to be a little creative, and our mattress was the kind that came in a box so it wasn't too hard to get up there, but you are deffinately not going to get a box spring or or large dresser or any large item that doesn't come apart. Hope this helps!
Thank you for the plumbing video. The Dewalt codebook is a must-have for me. On another subject; can you tell me the size of your second floor I-joist nd roof? They look 14 -16 inches wide, right?
No problem! And the I joists for the second floor floor are 14" (they are the same for both floors) and then both roof sections are 12". Hope that helps!
SO can I get a smaller staircase? IM needing it to fit in a 36incg by 36 inch area going up 8 foot. I don't care if its code. It so my dog can get up to the next floor. Code is not an issue for me. Basicly its for a tiny home. And its not like the rest of it is " up to code" I don't have to worry about codes. I know it hard for some to understand. But not everyone has to build to code.
Hi, enjoyed the video. Ive recently bought an appartment and wanted to build an spiral stair like this but roughly 55inches in diameter. How do you like the stair? Is it easy to use daily? I would really appreciate if you would reply. Thanks!
I like it, it looks great still, but the plastic spacers in the steps squeek a little bit so I would try and find one where you don't have to use spacers to get the correct step height.
This was a new build, so the upstairs is a permitted bedroom/bathroom/closet. If you were trying to install a staircase to retrofit an attic into a livable space the biggest issue would be whether or not your ceiling could support the extra weight on top of it. But to answer your question if we were adding a upstairs loft to our already built house we would need a permit. Hope that helps.
If you are talking about the handrail we screwed the handrail to the supports. The supports are pre drilled on the back to accept a screw for that reason. Hope that answers your question!
@@PootsPastures if you can provide me with a picture of how it's mounted or a hand sketch much appreciated I'm in south Africa hardly have power here so looking at my options for pvc handrails
This came up when we were putting them on. We weren't able to put the set screws down on the one closest to the stair tread so that would have to be up to tighten, just because of how close it was to the tread. Instead of having them all face down except for the one closest to the tread we opted to make it consistent and put them all the same way. It would look cleaner if they were down, but you don't really notice it otherwise. Thanks for watching!

Great job guys👍🏻
Nice work man, I have a house almost like this and I want to make a spiral staircase like it. I really benefited from making this video
Glad you enjoyed the video! Good luck with your project!
teamwork makes the dream work...great job guys
Thanks!

Nice job, I like the more modern look of the stairs!
We do too! Thanks for watching!

Hi! Can you please tell me the dimensions of the landing open space? How large is the ceiling square and/or the floor square?
Enjoyed the video. Looks like a professional job to me.
Thank you!
Great job. Looks great and modern. Guess you would have saved a lot of space
Yeah, we would have had a lot of wasted space if we went with a traditional stair case!
Ouch sounds a bit frustrating putting together stairs. I've been there installing something in not enough space. Your stairs look good though!
Maybe in a future video you can bring out your plans and drawings to review what you liked and didn't like as much.
Thanks! And yeah I think once we live in it for a while we'll have a good idea if what we would have done different! Thanks for watching!
Nicely done, but @ 13:49 you have a huge fall hazard from the 2nd floor. Did you add partitions of posts and cables to make that safe?
You guys are the BEST!
Thanks lol!
Awesome video, everything i need to know is on your channel! Thanks a million! You helped me a ton!
Oh I see.
So this can be cut down in width. If one needs to.
Thanks for video
And this is at home depot?
I like the stairs but I sure do hope ya got everything you need up there.... stay safe
We did, and we can still get large things up there it's just a little trickier! Thanks for watching

I'm not that handy, but I have one of these spiral stair cases. I was thinking about replace the stile of it. Keep making video!
If you make sure you get a size that will actually fit it wouldn't be that hard. The instructions are pretty good
How wide is tye roof opening?

How do I buy the spiral staircase kit as you show in the video
You c DM buy them directly from home depots website, the link is in the description. Thanks for watching!
What is the name of the kit? I like it. You guys did a great job, even with the hick ups.
There should be a link to the kit in the description. Thanks for watching!
Snow could be melting due to reflection of sun reflection, I replace siding all the time due to new windows reflection so much heat
Oh I didn't even think of that but that's a great point!
Parabéns que trabalho maravilhoso

Says they no longer carry those stairs what’s the name of them?
Was the kit code compliant?
Beautiful, what was the cost?
Mylen stairs run about $3000 for a setup like this, in 2023 dollars.
About 3,000 dollars
Hey bud, great video. Do you need a permit to open up the ceiling at your place?

Dude nice staircase. But you put the cable holders in upside down. Set screws on the bottom. Nice job though.
