signature moves- Winston has his sexy dance move as he's playing the banjo. Ben has his headbanging at the piano... and of course his running around the stage. Ted has his shaking his head at the base. I am yet to find a move that Marcus regularly does... but I will... xD
Just imagine.. you are bootlegging moonshine across the state of Alabama, the police are on your tail, bullets richochet of your fender, your friend Jimmy in his dungaress is chewing tobacco and leaning out the window with a shotgun shouting YEEEWWWWWW, all while this song plays in the background
I did a cover of this song with my band and i play banjo. And my gawd it couldent match mumford and sons like it was the same thing and everything. But u cant match there sound. Tgere sound is so unique. And marcus doing 4 things at once. Like kickdrum, tamborine, guitar, and singing AT THAT SPEED is inreal. Prob the best song they wrote. And ben ripping all the keys before the solos just makes u laugh its so good. Love this song
Does anybody else think like when the yell “yep” or “hey” as there playing. Dont u think that it also makes this song better? Like it fits really well with what there playing
@monoXcide01 well...try cranking it up until your ears pound, dance around and stomp like an lunatic, and really listen to the words... I mean, come on: "stars hide your fires / these here are my desires / and I won't give them up to you this time around / and so I'll be found / with my stake stuck in this ground / marking the territory of this newly imapassioned soul!" Come on man, if you're not inspired by that you should just go back to bieber
@monoXcide01 then strum it....dude I try and try... Everyday man....just take, the electric banjo / cant think....he's awesome, but I suppose, when ya play the same song everyday, you'll get the pattern, then the speed will come, and then the timing of everyone together happens....it is an AWESOME thing!!!!
@xhandiix Meh... Glastonbury rocked the fucking house down, but you didn't miss much at T in the Park. Eminem was on top form, but I didn't see much in the others. Not worth getting the train to Scotland for, anyway. Leeds was brilliant though, and the V Festival (which I was dragged along to) was actually really good.
just as an fyi, i realized the other day that the roughly quote Shakespeare's macbeth with "stars hide you fires, these here are my desires..." although MandS turned the quote around in an interesting way to change he meaning of the original...i love them ;)
@chucklebug13 After the Pukkelpop gig, they said they never experienced such a crowd and that they never had such a big adrenaline rush :-p But still, everywhere I see them, the crowd is lovely.
@Makav2li Nah need a few more albums under their belt. dont get me wrong, I love M&S, but I don't think they could do the Pyramid, not just yet. And I think they suit better for a smaller stage.
please please please keep up this for like... ever. i sooo wanna see the mums in concert, but i bet it's over 18 only.. i can't fucking wait 3 years!!! i wanna see the awesomeness NOW
GREAT preformance!!! I'm shocked by the big distance beween the stage and the crowd. Is this always at the british festivals? At Rock Werchter the distance is like less than two meter.
going to see them live in belfast its going to be the best time in my fucking life what a ban ............ in northen ierland the tickets were sold out in 11 min
I'm loving this crowd! I'm going to see Mumford & Sons tonight in Montreal and I hope the crowd is as pumped as they are here!! There's nothing worse than going to a live show where everyone stands in place with their arms folded
"You have neither reason nor rhyme with which to take this home which is so rightfully mine " an impassioned plea against inheritance tax and the mansion tax there from a rollickingly adorable Mumford & Sons
3:13 ... Beauty of humanity restored.
The best performance of this song! What an energy!
Watch the 2016 Lollapalooza Brasil show. It was amazing!
Powerful playing and the lyrics are just top noth, superb all around. keep up the good work,. I hope to see you live one day :)

They really know how to rock a stage!
They're having to much fun on stage, I want to join :)
You are wonderful. When in Poland!?
ohh ben
Well, any time I'm listening to this, it reminds me, that I'm listening to the right music. In ya face Justin Bieber ''Fans''!
I love their energy, and the fact that their one of the few popular bands today that can deliver their songs exactly how they sound on the CD's
Still here in 2020. Love it.

Winston's stomping is gold

OMFG This is the best M & S vid on RUclips yet!! Thank you!! And thank you to the cameraperson, who obviously appreciated Ben's myriad charms.
the foot stomping at 3:00 is awesome
Wow the stage presence here is just amazing! Cannot wait to see them live
I love ben through this whole song and their faces at :28 are pretty hilarious

just look how much fun they have playing and how lost they get in the music...that's what music should be about. I love these guys :)
Epic

I'm not really a believer of marriage but I would happily spend the rest my life with any one of those beautiful men.
...all of them preferably!
If ever there was a definition for a performance with energy and soul...
i like classic rock and im 12 and i love this song its one of my favorites
@TheTwollocks No, You've almost two pages demonstrative of writing them, you are the winner by the sheer volume and content.
@Makav2li nope, not even roumoured maybe friday night slot before headliners or maybe other stage they were amazing there though
Thumbs up if everytime you hear this song, even if your piss tired and in a foul mood you STAMP AND STOMP at 03:03!!!
I'm loving this crowd! I'm going to see Mumford & Sons tonight in Montreal and I hope the crowd is as pumped as they are here!! There's nothing worse than going to a live show where everyone stands in place with their arms folded
one of my favee songs of all timeeee
The energy in this song is nuts.
No no, the guy from Aruba Joran vandersloot looks like the keyboard player, Ben Lovett is far superior

2:29 Darkness is a harsh term don't you THINK????
god bless, ted. he just wants to rock the fuck out but the double bass really gets in the way ahahaha
"You have neither reason nor rhyme with which to take this home which is so rightfully mine " an impassioned plea against inheritance tax and the mansion tax there from a rollickingly adorable Mumford & Sons
Stick THAT up your arse, Osborne
rumtumtugger dos Sometimes I feel like Mumford and Sons are the only people looking out for my interests
rumtumtugger dos He said "soul", not "home".
I think we both know he meant 'soul' as a synonym for 'home'.
I ADORE this performance. goosebump inducing stuff. I wish the cameras had stayed on Ben a little more to catch his piano slides.
@TheTwollocks First of all, I'll listen to who I please and it's entirely up to me, not you.
@Makav2li i've heard so. they're also on the pyramid stage if what i've heard is correct
2:27 and 3:03 - glastonbury is the dogs fuckin bollocks. I was lucky as hell to be here
these guys are just so quirky. its awesome! they just have a fucking blast on stage
@Tamick8 The only thing wrong with Mumford and Sons; they are soooo addictive!!!
you can never find bands that sound this amazing live!
I have never seen such a lively, spirited and audaciously brilliant performance!
Np worries, I think we can agree we really like Mumford, that's important part
@h3llagood sounds like you put a lot of effort in anyway, much appreciated
Jesus, could September 25th just hurry the fuck up and get here already?!
so sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee......eeeeeeet and amazing song
I'd be surprised if I alone am not at least half of the views on this.
Goosebumps all over my body. Great vocals. It's just wauuuww
WHERE CAN I WATCH THE WHOLE GLASTONBURY SET OF MUMFORD AND SONS?!
That keyboard player looks like that guy from Aruba Joran vandersloot
@TheTwollocks - No one is capable of topping you in that category.
@acastratedhen No, probably a Lady Gaga fan who hit the wrong vid.
@Dimples1309
becuse they like lady gaga , and justin beiber...
they kind of have that rockabilly physcabilly sound i like that,
This performance is amazing, I can't stop watching it
AWESOME!!

This song still sounds strong in 2024.
Great crowd. And I'm not just saying that cuz I was there...
Yeah THIS is music!!!!!
oh, i always feel sorry for ted. he just wants to danceeeee
1 thing wrong about this performance
I WASN'T THERE !
They tore the fucking roof down at that place god damn!
lol Pitchfork gave their album a 2.1/10 RIDICULOUS!!!!
God asked them to play him a song, and he was pleased
I want to go to glastonbury purely to see these guys.
ahhhh i'm going to see them this summer! SO EXCITED.
Best album of the year? Best album ever more likely
6 people were afraid of what he discovered inside..
